When it came to the quality of work when replacing my 35-year old roof, Deer Park Roofing was absolutely amazing. A large crew arrived at 7:00 a.m., the crew boss introduced himself to me, asked where the outlet was and patiently listened to my concerns. The crew was industrious and, according to my neighbor, more joined them as the day went on, so at one point there were 20 people working on my roof. It was completed in a day, looks amazing, and was done with a high level of quality, according to my neighbor who is himself a contractor. The driveway (where they dumped the old roof into the garbage truck) was pristine when I came home from work. Everything they did spoke of expertise, great work ethic, and excellent workmanship. What I wasn't really thrilled with was the inconsistent customer service. It seemed like a patchwork variety of people who worked with me at one time or another during the process, and no one really kept me informed on what was going on. The initial assessor gave me minimal information on even simple parts of the process, like how a choose a shingle color. (You waited a week to tell me (only when I specifically asked) that I could go to the office and take some shingle samples home, so I can compare it with the house color?) And the morning of the roofing job when I had a concern regarding one of the employees, the crew boss was dismissive of it. I called the office and they sent out a supervisor, but no one got back to me on what happened. (I didn't need details -- a simple "we looked into it and resolved it" would have been sufficient). But what really sticks in my mind was when the job was completed. There wasn't even a text message to notify me that they were finished, or any type of conversation or report on how it went. I came home from work to find them done and gone. Finally, after not hearing back from them (or even getting a bill) for a week, I called the office and was told that "earlier this week" (I assume 4 or so days after the initial work) a Deer Park inspector came to my house, checked the workmanship and approved it. So you went on my property without my knowledge and walked on my roof? And at no point discussed what you did with me or showed me pictures of the results? So would I use Deer Park again? I'd have to think hard about it. I hate being in the position of either choosing great workmanship/expertise or good customer service towards the property owner -- is it too unrealistic to expect both? read more

We had ice dams whenever it snowed, but not leaks with rain. Since our roof was 22 years old, we knew we were approaching the end and would need a new rood soon. However, we did not want to ice dams that caused winter leaks ignored, especially since we were replacing the roof in the spring when snow would not be expected for another 8-10 months. Both the person who gave the bid and the supervisor of the work proposed the same solution. This made us feel comfortable that what they suggested might work. (Come back next winter!) The day they planned to replace the roof, rain was predicted. They let us know they would come the next day, unless rain was again predicted. They arrived at 7:20 with 8 workers and a supervisor. They finished at 2:30 pm. The roof looks great. We are the third house on our cul de sac to use Deer Park Roofers. We all are happy with their work. read more

I hired this company based off of a recommendation. They promised to handle the insurance claim Even having a special employee, Ben, who dealt with insurance. Had they had underquoted the original job and had to come back with more charges I was promised would be paid out by insurance. They never submitted the charges to insurance and are sending demand letters threatening to sue me over an unresolved balance that I was told " would be handled" 2 years ago after I had to do all the back and forth with insurance to discover that they never submitted it. Now the company is impossible to get in touch with. Nobody returns my calls or emails. Essentially ignoring my communication while threatening to sue me. Unacceptable and unprofessional. I do not recommend using this company if you plan to file through your insurance. read more

About a month ago my father had some water leaking into his bedroom after a heavy rain. I called Deer Park Roofing and they sent Adam out the next day to take a look. He looked inside on the ceiling as well as climbed up onto the roof. He took photos to show me and did a temporary fix. The roof was about 20 years old so we opted to go with a new roof rather than a temporary fix. An estimate was given, tile color was chosen, and about one month later the roof was installed. The crew arrived early, were very efficient, cleaned up very well, and were finished by sunset. Another employee, Bo, followed up the next day for an inspection. Deerpark Roofing clearly excels all other 22 roofing companies we contacted for estimates for a condo complex leak in one of our units. They were the best at customer service, returning calls promptly, and the only company who identified and stopped the leak (with a temporary fix to see if it would continue leaking during the upcoming rains) the first time they came to give an estimate and didn't even charge for the temporary fix! No other company could identify the source of the leak (or did not return my call, or wouldn't do small jobs or deal with HOA's) as the leak source was a puzzling mystery until Deerpark came & immediately not only found the leak source but stopped the leak on the spot. This mystery leak had 3 different roofers come out over a 6 month time period, and each said they resolved the leak with replacing some shingles, but each time after their service, it was still leaking. Not only were they the only roofer to identify the source of the leak & stop it immediately, they repaired the leak for about $10,000 less than one estimate from a roofer we received (recommended by an insurance company as their best roofer) who said the cause was from improper vent nail placement by the original roof installer.which was proven to be wrong by Deerpark as it was a different cause) since it stopped leaking when a little nail hole under a shingle was plugged up by Deerpark. Deer Park roofing replaced my neighbors room. By the end of the day every surface in my house was covered with black oily dust. The tenants in the house where the roof was being replaced said the same thing happened to them. We called Deer Park roofing and they said it was our fault for not closing our windows!! They never told us this was necessary. We don't have central air and it was a nice day. It took 2 days and cost me $1000 to have my house cleaned!!! I can only comment on their roofing. They are an excellent company and the work they do is excellent. Customer service is very good, but sometimes you get different people and if there is a problem you might feel like you're getting the run around, because you will often talk to different people. But once you identify a contact person, they will work out all the problems, not that there are many. I have rental property and they have done work on most of them and I would not hesitate to use them again. I have been doing business with them for 20 years when their office was in an old house converted to an office, before they moved into the old Rempke market. The prices are reasonable as well, not cheap, but fairly priced for quality work. Just make sure you identify your "go to person" when you start your project. read more

We had them bid on a Siding project that we had for a large Condo Association and there bid was great, so we choose to go with them as our installers. The siding we picked was not the highest of quality but wasn't the worst either. Well they quoted us a 8-12 week turnaround to have this completed. They ran into many struggles getting crews to stay and only got just over half done within 6 months, then decided that they were going to raise the price, due to the cost of the siding going up, which we would have been okay with had we known that going into the next year (this year) because we budgeted to what was left, since we had the contract and they had not fulfilled there part of the contract. We ended up finding someone else to install and dropped them except for there warranty of already installed siding. Which they have done a good job of responding to our issues, but just seem like there owner didn't want to work with us when it came to the price change. Which disappointed me greatly. read more

Lack of integrity as to gutter replacement/lbasement leak issue. Refusal to respond or follow up to agreed-upon dispute resolution. P.S. They charge extra 2% if you use a credit card. But wise to use a card anyway in case of a complaint so that a remedy is available to you. read more

EXCELLENT Company to do business with!!! I requested a quote from Deer Park Roofing and they had an estimator out to my house the next day and was fixing my Bay Window flashing and shingles by the end of the week as they said they would. First of all, I would like to say, that Jack, the roofer from DPR contacted me to set a time to come and work on my home. He said he could be there at 8:30 a.m. whereas he was on site at 7:45 a.m. to set up equipment, tarp, materials etc... and was ready to go prior to 8:30. Amazing these days when you are lucky if anyone even returns your call let alone shows up when they say they will be there!!! He inspected my flashing and shingles on my Bay Window where I was having issues with water coming through causing damage to the interior of my home. He showed and explained in detail what was causing the problem and what was required to FIX IT RIGHT. Lets just say that the builder we used to build our Home did a sub par job, to say the least! Jack not only tore off the old flashing and shingles but had also noticed the windows near the bay window had gaps in the caulking around them that could let water through them as well. After working non stop all day replacing the flashing and shingles properly, ooh by the way, he soldered all of the flashing as well as painted it, went on to caulk ALL of my windows on the three sides of my house that are brick!
