Satisfactory. I stayed there for 8 months. Its a nice location with Walmart, Indian grocery and…read morefresh produce vegetable markets close by. Woodland District school is also satisfactory. There is a good walkway around for evening walks. The apartment flat is good. Maintenance is ok (Kitchen sink disposable motor had to be replaced but was not available in stock hence it took time for the maintenance to fix it). They do charge $4 additional for paper bill every month. Moreover the water charge keeps varying. For a flat rent of $982 plus $5 for thrash, my monthly bill was coming to $1020. Electricity is not included in the rent and has to be paid separately.

However, I recently encountered a distressing incident that has instilled a sense of insecurity within me. On May 15th, approximately at 4:30 am, I was subjected to a near-physical assault by an individual residing in the building on my right. Although I was unfamiliar with him at the time, I have since discovered that he has been engaging in persistent harassment towards me & others. On May 18th, I was accompanied by my partner to our building entrance, and upon passing his apartment, he emerged. It was as if he had anticipated my presence. Despite contacting the police twice regarding the harassment, they have been unable to take any action due to the absence of physical altercations, arrests, or any form of communication with the individual. The building office has also been informed of the situation, but no measures have been implemented. I have come to the realization that I am not the sole tenant who has been subjected to harassment. I am aware of three other individuals who have been pursued into their ground-floor apartments. I am apprehensive about my safety and am uncertain of the appropriate legal recourse. This experience is unprecedented for me, and I am concerned that the apartment complex is not adequately safeguarding its tenants. Furthermore, I am unable to identify the individual's name, and I have repeatedly requested that the leasing office provide this information in order to obtain an order of protection. However, they have been unresponsive to my requests. The police informed me verbally twice that they should be able to provide this information, particularly since this is not the first complaint filed against this individual.

Inside, there's a great uplifting project going on. I lived in a one bedroom with a garden in the first floor exactly what I needed. It's very quiet. The apartment had just gotten a black marble tile and counters face lift in the kitchen before I moved in. Lovely and easy to clean. All modern appliances. The apartment had been well cared for and cleaned before I got there. That was the first indication that Joseph Hughes, the property owner , is fussy about the way things are done and he checks in on projects daily. He and his daughter, Sabrina are friendly and accommodating. Since I arrived, the communication to enter the building has gone high tech, but EASY TO USE. My neighbors were all nice people. The apartment was a good size and the garden was just a little oasis away from all the noise and bustle of major roads. The tenants are diverse. Young, old, and in between - polite and friendly. I highly recommend this property to anyone who wants a bit of quiet and a view of trees, shrubs and flowers. I enjoyed my time there and if I hadn't had health problems I would still be there - I want to see what the next building project will be now.

The staff was always friendly and helpful. The landscaping is well taken care of and our maintenance requests were always promptly attended to. We moved out only to relocate to the city. During our move our moving truck never showed up and we were essentially homeless for the night. The Landings allowed us to stay in the apartment and just pay a prorated amount for the night. If they had not done that we would have been on the streets with our stuff so I am very appreciative towards them. Overall, living here was a great experience. The major cons are with the city of Waukegan and not The Landings (not a large restaurant selection, no sidewalks, just overall not much to do). Also, the work out area is small and can get cramped at times, but you just have to know when the good times to go are. If you are on the fence of where to live in the area, I would absolutely go with The Landings. I have been to other apartment complexes in the area and I believe the Landings is superior to the rest.

(If you see this, no offense Mom) If I had the time, I could write a review the length of Marcel Proust's, 'A la recherche du temps perdu.' But the Cliffs Notes version is this. This is a high end complex, but without the pretentiousness you would find in the North Shore and/or the upscale neighborhoods in Chicago. The facilities and amenities are all first-class, and everything is always clean like a five-star hotel. As for my unit itself, all of the appliances and furnishings are beautiful. Just as important, they did not cut any corners in terms of the walls and floors, so I do not hear any noise at all from my two next-door neighbors, or from the apartment below. Nothing major has ever happened since I lived here. But the very minor things like the specialty light bulbs needing replacing, Rey and Jason from the maintenance team have always come out the same day to take care of stuff like that. The area is perfect in terms of nearby shopping, restaurants, groceries, pharmacies, etc... Although living here is not cheap, dollar for dollar, this might be the best bang for your buck in all of Lake County. I do have some pause writing this, because Nathan (the property manager) might see it, and then raise my rent when it's time to sign my next lease. Please don't do it Nathan. Call or stop by the leasing office and ask for Stephanie or Katherine. You can thank me later. Much gratitude to the entire staff (and fellow residents) of The Atworth at Mellody Farm.

CONS: The $15 a month mandatory garage fee. Rent is extremely high per sq ft.$37+ per ft. Early termination on rental -stayed 6 months vs 12- was a $7100 fee The $300 nurses rebate was clawbacked at early termination plus ruined a full day of vacation when they would not take a check for $300 from my wife. The are hard nose about everything being done on their site (when it works). Signup was a nightmare. It took multiple attempts & multiple days with added stress -ugh. The whole signup & term process is too rigid. I would prefer to deal with a single owner vs corporate American.
