I can't say enough about how delicious this cake was. Fresh raspberries dotted the top with chocolate shavings, the cake itself was moist and delicious, layered mousse with fresh raspberries between the cake layers. I love that they come to the farmers market at 5th ave station. Their prices are right on point for a made from scratch bakery. Love the sweet pies, apple, blueberry and even the lemon. Ordered their mousse cake for a birthday, and it is delicious! I was afraid it wasn't going to be big enough but it's more than enough. The white chocolate pumpkin scones were also very good. What a wonderful addition to town! The shop is carry out only. They have a wonderful selection of sweet and savory items, breads, tea and coffee. Open T-F 6a-6p, Sa 6a-4pm. Closed Sun/Mon. The interior decor is simple and clean. Cool details. It just feels good to step inside. Nice subtle color scheme that does not draw attention away from the main show: the baked goods! Favorites so far: 1. Chocolate Chip Sea Salt Cookie 2. Spinach Croissant Cup I also liked the eclair: the pate aux chou was delicious, as was the ganache. I think I would prefer tiny eclairs with a lighter filling. But if you like huge eclairs, you should definitely try this one. Friday and Saturday is donut day. We ordered our wedding cake from DeEtta's Bakery a mere 3 weeks prior to our wedding. I wasn't feeling real confident with the baker I had chosen and we happened by accident onto De'Etta's at the end of July. We tried their donuts and I said to my then fiance, if their cakes are as good as their donuts, we can't go wrong. We scheduled a cake tasting. It was $25, but you get a credit back if you choose them to do the cake. We sat with Morgan, one of the co-owners who went through everything with us. We settled on a 6" and 8" tier that was almond cake with raspberry mousse filling and the 10" tier was white cake with chocolate mousse filling. It was frosted with American Buttercream tinted brown. Our cake arrived on time at the venue, was perfect in every way. Our guests RAVED about the cake! It was amazing!!! We highly recommend this bakery. Very reliable, accomodating, and eager to please. While everything I have had has been tasty I do have to rate it low for service. I walked in one day to inquire about ingredients for a food allergy - instead of looking up the actual ingredients ( I am fine if cooked in same bakery just can't have almond in the actual food ) I was told that I shouldn't eat the pastry. I was told they were too busy to look up the ingredients. There was only one person in the bakery other than myself. Kevin thank you for your response - that would have been an acceptable response while in the store - however as I commented I was told they were too busy - I have also been in the store in the past with the same question regarding ingredients and was never told not to eat the pastry - this was clearly poor customer service the day I was in. With so many people with allergies - I would expect a little more compassion ( the time I was in the store) and a better response - not they were too busy to look it up. read more

I worked with DeEtta's Bakery for my October 2015 wedding and it was an absolutely perfect experience. Some things that really stood out that future brides will enjoy: 1. My husband and I did a deconstructed cake tasting where we were given pieces of cake, frosting, and fillings on the side so we could construct as many different combinations as we wanted. This helped us choose what worked for us vs. using a pre-fix tasting menu. Best part of course, was that it all tasted amazing. 2. During our consultation I told them how I wanted to have a naked cake, which is a big fad on Pinterest and in wedding magazines. They were completely honest that though naked cakes are beautiful in photos, they are dried out by the time you serve it to your guests. For those of us with a budget only allowing for one cake to photograph and eat :), I appreciated their honesty and their professional recommendation to go with a buttercream frosted cake instead. They also helped me adapt the look of a frosted cake so that it looked as rustic and beautiful as a naked cake would've been. 3. They were great at email communication and staying in touch between my initial consultation and my wedding day. This is a huge plus for busy brides who don't have time to constantly be checking in on their vendors and for me since I live out of state. 4. They were on-time the day of the wedding deliver the cake and set it up. My wedding was about 30 minutes from their location. They even put on my wedding flowers in a pinch because I didn't have a florist and was busy getting pictures taken to do it myself. They usually recommend having your florist do this step since it's his/her work, but I really appreciate that they stepped in when I needed someone to help. 5. They offer a free round cake on/around your 1 year anniversary date since they believe you should enjoy a good dessert instead of a frozen one from 1 yr ago :). I love love love this idea. 6. Last, but not least, the cake was delicious. It tasted just like the consultation tasting. Overall, I highly recommend DeEtta's for a wedding. First of all the bakery smells amazing even in the parking lot. DeEtta's makes a good variety of bakery items including bread, scones and donuts. The donuts are large, not dense or heavy but not quite a true donut texture and slightly dry. I will say the chocolate frosting on the donut was fantastic. Last year with Covid going on we originally ordered a 3-tier cake and unfortunately we ended up only having a back yard wedding so we changed it to two 8 inch cakes, but never got our money back on the 3 tier cake (which is fine because they at least gave us a gift card to spend at the bakery). They had told us that we would get a free cake for our year anniversary instead of having to save a piece for a year, so I didn't save the piece and I reach out about the free cake. They told me it's only for a 3-tier cake order (which we still paid the price of a 3 tier cake either way). So now I'm stuck with no saved piece of cake and no cake. I picked up a cinnamon roll today as a treat for my wife. As alway, fresh and delicious, reasonably priced. The roll was 5.25 and big enough for 2 or 3 people to share. What a great find! DeEtta's is located in the industrial park behind Naperville North. They have a variety of cookies, cakes, braids, and scones. Apparently, they just started carrying doughnuts too! They also do specialty orders for events! I purchased their challah bread and croissant cup during my stop in. The croissant cup is wonderful! Flaky, buttery goodness! The only thing that could possibly make it better is if they started putting chocolate sticks in the center of them. (A girl can dream.) I've driven past here a few times and even got a coupon for a free donut from the st. patricks day parade but still never made it in...until today! I'm so glad I finally stopped in here! Since today was national donut day I decided to try a new bakery (so tired of dunkin and anything like it!). There were sooooo many good looking choices! I decided to go with the maple bacon donut. It was a pretty decent sized donut too...non of that little krispy kreme nonsense. My oldest (chocolate lover) chose the nutella sweetie pie which kind of looks like a gourmet poptart/pie it looked like a good one (I mean that in a complimentary way!). And my youngest chose the red velvet cake ball...it was pretty big for her hand haha. You can never go wrong with red velvet. My donut was really good. The bacon was crunchy but not too crunchy. The maple glaze wasn't too sweet abd the donut was a good classic donut...thick and delicious. My oldest loved the nutella sweetie pie. I do have to admit I thought it taste more like chocolate but it could be it's their homemade recipe...still it was delicious! And as for the velvet cake ball it was good too...the frosting was pretty sweet but I can't tell if we were just having sweets overload at the moment haha. 3 Words: Salted Caramel Brownie. First a couple things: To the reviewer who said the taste was "almost...fake?" must be a heavy smoker who has lost all sensitivity in his palate because they only use real ingredients in their food and everything I've tasted there was nothing short of amazing. Muffins are delicious and donuts are insanely good as well. Speaking of insanely good, recently I tried their Salted Caramel Brownie for the first time. Holy **** this is hands-down the best brownie I've ever tasted and I'm now obsessed with it. It's a nice size piece and super dense/rich which is exactly how I like my brownies and the flavor is absolutely spot on. A perfect brownie in my opinion. Prices are a tad on the steep side on certain items but let's be honest if you're operating in Naperville you're probably paying out the nose in rent/property taxes so everything in Naperville is expensive. Therefore I don't consider this a flaw that should count against them. And some of their donuts for $2.95 or whatever you're basically getting a whole meal that's how big/dense they are. I can eat a DD donut in 2-3 bites (if I'm being polite) and still be hungry for more but eating one of these takes several bites and you'll definitely be full afterwards. It's crazy how much they put into those things! To conclude, this is an excellent bakery and well worth the visit. You won't be disappointed unless like I said earlier maybe you have been a smoker for several years and can't taste the difference between a donut and a hot dog covered in mustard. In that case I can't really help you but if you still do have your taste buds in working order you'll be very pleased with pretty much everything you get from here (I have yet to try everything but I'm making an educated guess). read more

My husband and I discovered DeEtta's just discovering Downtown Naperville Area. You can smell the fresh baked aroma of cookies, cakes and breads wafting outside before we opened the door to this quaint "the real deal" baker.
