A MacDonalds on the outskirts and a Costa Coffee within the village itself add to the eating and drinking possibilities. I'd describe it as a nice place to visit for a morning or afternoon out if you're in the area but you may be disappointed if you travel many miles to shop here as it doesn't compare to serious shopping venues such as the Trafford Centre and in all honesty I don't think it would make any claim to.

The play area is a massive bonus for those of us with men and kids: one place to dump them both for a couple of hours of shopping in peace! It's not the best in the world but it is perfectly adequate and if it's somewhere you don't visit often then there would be plenty to keep the kids amused. I liked the fact that at the end there's a sort-of marina, so you can watch the boats (ok, I only did it for about 2 minutes then got bored and went to buy chocolate in Thorntons instead, but I liked the idea of it). Definitely worth a visit if you're having a good old British holiday in Blackpool and want a bit of civilized retail therapy.

Whilst its not the biggest and best Shopping Centre it is conveinient especially when its raining as everything is under one roof. The Centre has ample parking facilities, Toilets and a nice central Cafe which serves Snacks and beverages. The Selcetion of shops is fairly good, some of the most popular are Argos, Morrissons, Superdrug, Home Bargains, In Store, Savers and Dorothy Perkins. There are a good selection of discount stores so its ideal for picking up a Bargain. The Major draw is the Free Parking, a two storey car park means your always guarenteed a space and you can leave your cat their whilst you do some further shopping in Colwyn Bay Town Centre, which is only a few minutes walk away.

The Bayview Centre isn't by any stretch the best shopping mall in the world. It isn't all that big…read morebut it does have one thing going for it. There is a large, two storey car park. The nearest town is Llandudno which has a much better selection of shops but is an awful place for traffic and parking. Thanks to the Bayview parking in Colwyn Bay is much easier. The entrance is just off the A55 so you should hopefully avoid any traffic congestion as well. The centre is dominated by a largish Morrison's supermarket. There are also quite a few 'cheap' shops such as Home Bargains, Instore, The Works, Shoe Zone and Savers. Other well known high street names include Bon Marche, Superdrug, Iceland and Argos. There's also an open plan cafe which is a nice place to stop off for a quick cuppa (it's much nicer since the smoking ban came into place). It's not brillant but the car park makes it very convienient. UPDATE Unfortunately in their wisdom they've decided to install barriers on the car park. You can still park for free for two hours upstairs or three hours downstairs but the barriers mean that you are now likely to have to queue to get on and off which can be an annoyance and which has cost them one star! SECOND UPDATE I've decided to review my score for the BayView in light of the recent proliferation of salesmen and chuggers who presumably are permitted to operate there by the owners, no doubt in return for a fee. It's become almost impossible to pop into Morrisons to pick up a loaf without being accosted by energy salesmen and chuggers selling raffle tickets to raise money for our soldiers (although I doubt much of the money gets anywhere near any members of the armed forces). If anyone working for the owners reads this then please can you kick out the salesmen and I might start shopping in Morrisons again.

There are no real surprises in the stock, lots of batteries, DIY items, toiletries, food, drinks and so on and on the occasion I went lots of Halloween and Christmas stuff as well. While most of the units were taken up, the same can't be said about the other shopping centres in the town so that's a bonus, the mall just had a bare/empty feel and it felt like there was a lot of blank empty space which could be utilised better. In addition, there are a couple of common places to eat like McDonald's and Pizza Hut, yet I do feel there could be a little more restaurants considering the size of the area. Nevertheless, it makes a great day out because you can easily spend hours browsing each store as you walk around from one end to the other. The retail park has a bright and modern feel to it. No surprise it is so popular with visitors, with a huge car park to accommodate.

What better, then, to spend the afternoon shopping. We had the time, the energy, and because of the sales, the cash. I've heard that Cheshire Oaks is very much like those subject-to-season shops I often talk about, the TK Maxxes and Home Bargains of this world. Sometimes you can go and come away armed with inexpensive goodies. Other times, no matter how much you root, there's nothing there. I however caught it on a good day. And it was a surprise and a half. What I had expected was a mall, something Arndaley or Lowry-esque, but what you actually get is what looks like a gargantuan entertainment complex with a vast car park in the middle. All the stores are decked out in a kind of mock-Tudor frontage which somehow just about manages to be endearing as opposed to tacky. And the sheer variety of stores is simply mind-boggling. We found ourselves in All Saints, Diesel, Levi's, picking up many little bargains. But there's far more than that, there are sports shops, electronics stores, homeware outlets, the list just goes on. You'd find it hard to visit everything in a single day, and it would take me about five pages to list everything. With eateries on every corner it's easy to while away the hours there. I'd heartily recommend that you download the online store guide before you go and perhaps print out a copy to ensure that you don't get lost or miss anything. With regular buses travelling to the site and nearby train stations Chester and Ellesmere Port, there's no excuse for not taking a little sojourn from the city and travelling here. I promise you, if you catch it on a good day your car boot or poor arms won't be big enough to carry all your goodies. Get involved.

The only thing about the car park is, it's on a one-way street, and I get lost in Rhyl quite easily as about half the town centre is one-way streets!

When walking through the arcade, you'll pass by many classy shops which you probably won't go into unless you're prepared to spend a fair amount. There are a couple decent cafes, such a milkshake bar and Caffe Nero if you're just looking for a drink. By inspection, all areas of the arcade are well looked after and has good security with CCTV installed. I find Keys Court a relaxing place to walk through as it is always less congested than main streets. This definitely one of my favourite parts of town.

This place has more upmarket shops than places such as St.Johns and is generally the kind of place people tend to visit when they are in the mood to spend a bit of hard earned cash. The place is always kept clean and tidy and there is often a visible security presence meaning that you can have the confidence to shop without concern as you are made to feel very safe and relaxed. The aesthetics here are good and it is another reason that natives of Liverpool have to be proud of their city centre which in general is kept in immaculate condition by a hard working team and an excellent council.
