You didn't say one word to me before you told me about pictures (which is why your attached response is especially dangerous in how you portray yourself). You were so set on being angry that you didn't even take a moment to realize you were wrong. I understand the rules, I wasn't breaking them. It's unforunate that you've decided to create mistruths to protect yourself. He is grossly mistepping boundaries as a store owner. A quick scroll will show reviews from almost a decade ago documenting similar patterns of inappropriate behavior. Yet in his response he says he came up to me calmly and quietly lol You know that didn't happen. I would have respected a bit of honesty. I've screenshotted the owners response to my previous review below. Hopefully this provides more context and will protect other customers from similar uncomfortable experiences.

This bookstore has a great selection of new books, some of which are signed by the author (but you might need to look a bit hard to find them - it's not easily displayed as it could have been). Part of the reason of it being 4 out of 5 stars. Another reason why it's 4 out of 5 stars is because this location doesn't have a cafe like the other locations - which I appreciate since it makes McNally a true third space for New Yorkers to enjoy. Instead, this location feels more like a take-out/convenience store type of bookstore even though there is one or two chairs placed upstairs that are optimally placed.

What a fun, witchy, weird little find!…read more Quimby's located on Metropolitan Avenue near the new hotspot of Williamsburg, is a very cool stop! Tons of zines on every subject imaginable (composting, gardening, witchcraft, gay/queer subjects, politics, and more). Little booklets, funky cards and books. I picked up several cheeky cards I can't wait to send to friends. They also have records, crystals/stones, tchotchkes, small decor items. I think they also do tarot in the back. And they have a cute shop cat! The store decor is a lot of fun, with mirrors, political posters, a large ram that plays on the ventilation system. There is a lot here you won't find anywhere else.
