Don't judge a book by its cover. We were pleasantly surprised by this diamond in the rough. The food and service were great at Del Golfo. My son really enjoyed his catfish (not pictured) and my daughter loved her triple layer cheese quesadilla (not pictured). My wife and I enjoyed the Shrimp Tostada and Ceviche. Worth a stop. Friendly staff and thoughtful owner checked in at table.

Staff is friendly, service is great, and food is fantastic! I could go on an on about this place. They just nail it.

Tilapia with garlic sauce! Very good!!

This is always our go-to place after leaving Lavon Lake. Something about being in the water on a hot day just makes you want seafood! I had the Garlic Tilapia the first time, which I highly recommend. It was delicious. I also had the fried catfish filet and shrimp, that was good also. Very nice crisp on both. We were also served several sides of tartar sauce with our meals (very good stuff!). And if you're looking for some cold brewskis, this place also has that. Bud Light, modelo, corona ...all the favorite brands in a cold glass bottle. They usually have a game on one of the tvs and some other programs on the other two. Good ambiance here. The service has been good both times. They come around to your table and ask if you need anything and they've been so polite also. The only thing we tried that wasn't that great was the taquitos. The pork was unseasoned and it came out in chunks when trying to bite it. (Should maybe be grinded or pulled apart better). We'll be back again soon, I'm sure!

    Love the table decor too.

The fish and vegetable soup. Very flavorful and simple dish.

Only place in Texas serving both Maryland crab cakes and Mexican crab cakes if you order a day in advance. Not on their menu but should be.

I was helping my friend move here and we happened to just look up places near by. I gotta say I was genuinely surprised. We went around 8:30 and the place was pretty dead but realized they were a newer place that just opened recently. The service was great and the server was super welcoming. The menu is big and they don't have certain things probably because it's a newer location or just cause into Frisco has it so make sure to ask. I ended up getting salmon belly sashimi, the tornado roll and the spicy salmon mania roll. The presentation on the sashimi was chefs kiss. It was too beautiful for me to eat but I just had to haha. The quality of the fish was amazing and so fresh. I'm not a roll guy because of the rice ratio at most places but the ratio was perfect and the size of the rolls were honestly bigger than I thought they would be. I haven't had rolls in so long and these did not disappoint. This place is super clean and nice inside. I wish I got a picture of the bar because it looked super nice but definitely give this place a try. Wish more people knew about this place. Not sure if it's cause I went about 2 hours before close but 10/10 experience.

There is a certain energy in a restaurant when people trust it, and Creekside has that. We started with the crab and shrimp dip, which came out hot, creamy, and loaded with flavor. It is one of those appetizers that everyone at the table keeps going back to without even thinking about it. For dinner, we ordered the Red Snapper Alexander and the chicken cutlet parmesan, and this is where the night really took off. The red snapper was cooked perfectly, topped with sautéed shrimp in a white wine sauce that added flavor without overwhelming the fish. The balance was impressive, and the presentation matched what you would expect from a much higher priced restaurant. Then there was the chicken parmesan. As Italians, we do not say this lightly, but this dish stood out in a big way. Creekside blends Alfredo and marinara into a creamy, well-balanced sauce that takes a classic and elevates it. The chicken was lightly breaded, the mozzarella was fresh, and every bite delivered. We awarded this dish our Best of the Best for Chicken Parmesan, and that is something we reserve for dishes that truly separate themselves from the rest. Service was excellent throughout the night. Our server Erin was attentive, knowledgeable, and helped guide us to some great choices. One small note, the fish and chips did not quite match the level we had experienced on a previous visit. It was still good, just not at the same level we had come to expect. That said, it did not take away from what was otherwise a fantastic meal. If you are looking for a place that delivers an upscale feel without the upscale price tag, this is it. Great for date nights, family dinners, or just a night out where you want consistently good food.

The food has been consistently hot and fresh, of good quality overall and tasty! My wife's go to meal has been the Tacos al Carbon, which she really enjoys. The portion size has always been adequate. I've had the El Combo Plate, the El Lopez, a mixed Enchilada Plate, and Birria Tacos. I've also enjoyed everything I've eaten at El Rodeo. Recently, we opted to return to our previous go to Tex Mex restaurant (El Fenix), because of the price increases at El Rodeo. Probably the biggest advantage El Rodeo has over El Fenix is menus choices. El Rodeo's menu is more extensive. However, El Fenix has a full bar and better atmosphere. Whereas, El Rodeo does have somewhat of hole in the wall ambiance, with much simpler furnishings. As far as overall food quality, my wife and I both agree that El Fenix has the edge over El Rodeo. Interestingly, both restaurants have almost the exact same salsa recipe. Both taste fresh, but both are also fairly watery, which, for me, is a fail. I prefer a salsa with I guess more of a tomato base. I mean, I still eat the salsa at El Rodeo, but it's definitely not the star of the meal! The chips at El Rodeo are better than those at El Fenix. (I did not intend for this to be a comparison to El Fenix, it just worked out that way, because I'm a little delayed on submitting this updated review on El Rodeo.) I do very much appreciate the large drink mugs at El Rodeo. I've would have to literally chug one's drink throughout the meal to even need a single refill. The mugs are HUGE! So, we'll be back to El Rodeo despite the pricing increases, but probably not as frequently as we would like. Times are tough and value shopping, even for dine out spots, is paramount! If you try El Rodeo you won't be disappointed, so do give it a try! Eat well, Be well. Cheers!
