"We had two units there for years. A man came in and rented a unit next to ours and robbed us and six other units as well. Deland Storage is accepting no responsibility for his actions. They have CCTV on the outside but nothing for units inside the building. We got no apology from the owner and within the week we got the bill for the next month. I would think twice about using this facility. I will be cleaning out our unit because those folks obviously do not care about their customers but have no hesitation in raising their rates. I guess they do not have insurance to cover the loss or if they do they will not help their customers. I also wonder about security. If you want to feel secure, I would worry about having your personal things at Deland Storage. We will be finding another place for the second unit. Many things that are lost were not replaceable. We feel violated and we feel like Deland Storage did not care one bit other than letting us know that we had been robbed.." read more

We had a reservation for May 1st & had been billed a deposit to hold. Showed up May 1st to access the unit & office was closed - it was a Sunday, so probably my fault for not checking office hours on a Sunday. Took our car full of stuff & went back to hotel. Following morning (MONDAY) showed up at opening time 9:00 am. Closed..... waited an hour with car full. No response on phone, no response on email.......had to book another storage somewhere else. (OTTER Storage- very easy & was in within 10 minutes). Continued to call throughout the day for refund without reply. As of today, the 7th, DeLand SS still has not answered my phone call OR email. Obviously I need a refund on my deposit. read more

I recently moved here to my birthplace Deland from St. Louis, MO..Luana was absolutely wonderful & so welcoming! She was very helpful and I was thrilled to find a Trump friendly environment. Very rude. Couldn't believe the way we were spoken to during the process of trying to rent a storage unit. Took my Business to a different storage company across town, and will never be back to this place ever. read more

If I could give no stars for any review this place would have it. It may be partially my fault... I call in and secure a unit. I'm assuming it's a drive up and that is what I needed. I come in at 3 pm pay the guy and return at about 530 pm. The owner or manager is standing outside in the back. I drive my truck and trailer through the gate and ask where is 310 she says wait I'll show you. She continues to talk to another customer who is leaving for several minutes. That customer finally leaves and I follow her with truck and trailer. She walks up to a door (like a closest door, or front door to a house), opens it up and says it's down this hall way, I said I can't use that I got all the mattresses here and I'm by myself. She said don't u have a dolly, I say that's irrelevance I'm by myself and can't use this unit. She said people do it all the time, I said I'm by myself and can't use this unit. She yells at me, I don't need your attitude. I say, lady, I own my own business and your customer service sucks. Just give me a refund. She is cussing me out as she is walking away. I drive to the office and there is another customer outside waiting on her, I said be careful that lady has an attitude. She return with my money, I jump in my truck and proceed to leave, and she is talking to the customer I spoke with and is pointing at me.... I know she's talking bout me... I pull through the gate and look to the left and now she is out front talking to another customer and is pointing at me again.... I actually felt sorry for this lady and just drove off. Next day I go down the street to get another storage unit and this lady says jump in the golf cart I want you to see what you're getting. The First Lady could have been professional and said for a few extra bucks you can get the unit you want, or could have initially showed me the unit.... Stay away from the bad customer service ... go to a different storage unit ! read more

The worst experience I've had with a rental unit thus far. The manager was rude, unprofessional, disrespectful and racist. She stereotyped us because we were not of her same ethnicity. Yelled at us because she heard from "someone" else that we're not paying (which we were, once we were done), was biased and called us liars, never have I ever been this disrespected due to someone's hearsay, which I do not believe she knew the definition of the word. She heard from someone else"s comments ran with it, barged into the unit guns a blazing without asking us anything. Instead of professionally asking us to please make the payment before we left, (which was just $8) she blocked us in by driving a golf cart and blocking the exit, when we told her we were going to make the $8 payment she called me a liar (more like yelled it at me) and threatened to call the cops. Not sure what she was expecting to achieve, but it doesn't take much to figure it out... either way, If you're a P.O.C, please stay away... it's because of Karen's like these that gaslight and don't understand that one needs to hear both sides of a story before coming out yelling at people. At the lease be a decent human. Her initials are LH, didn't get her full names, but from what I've read it seems like she's the manager. She was very proud to say she's been there 11 years. Wish her luck and maybe someone should give her more customer service training because the past 11 years have not helped. read more
