This hotel opened as the Broadview Hotel in 1922 and I believe much of the interior has been preserved (i.e. the hand-crafted moldings, chandeliers, lobby flooring, etc.) It's gorgeous. And the parts that have been renovated are equally elegant. We made renovations for two, two Queen rooms since my husband and I were traveling with my mom, brother, and sister. Kristina checked us in and made sure that we had connecting rooms on the fourth floor. (Btw, she was so friendly and helpful!) The rooms were very clean and had all that we needed. A microwave, refrigerator, LOTS of outlets. There are many restaurants within walking distance but since it was so hot, we made a very short drive to the Monarch (there is a restaurant in the hotel, but we went there the next night!) Since we were all exhausted to do much else, we took the elevator to the 8th floor to watch the sunset. The view of the Arkansas river from up there was amazing and I now understand why the upper level rooms are a bit more expensive. When we were watching sunset, we realized that you could see the Keeper of the Plains from there and we watched until it was lit at 9pm! (I highly recommend you going there to watch in person at least once, but it was cool to watch from the AC too!) Breakfast was biscuits, gravy, sausage patties, scrambled eggs, tortillas, toast, bagels, pancakes, waffles, cereal...I may be forgetting something but there were quite a few choices. There were plenty of juices to choose from and a soda machine (that only works during breakfast and dinner.) We only had dinner there one night but it was pulled pork sliders, cole slaw, baked potatoes, and chili. It was all very good. They also give you THREE drink tickets. And that's not just beer and wine. That includes liquor...no heavy pours though...it all comes out of a soda gun! Overall, we had a truly delightful stay. We will be coming here for years to come.

I had a really pleasant stay at Drury Plaza Hotel Wichita. The rooms are a little dated in style…read morebut still very nice and comfortable, and everything was clean which is what matters most. The staff were genuinely kind and helpful which made the whole experience feel welcoming from check in to check out. The restaurant inside the hotel is very nice and high quality, though a bit pricey since it is essentially a fancy steak restaurant. The free breakfast was decent and had enough variety to start the day without needing to leave. The exterior of the building looks great and the location is a big plus since it is right next to the river and bridge which makes for nice views and easy walks nearby. Overall it is a comfortable and convenient place to stay in Wichita.

I have been meaning to write this review for months, but alas, here I am…read more I stayed at this hotel a couple of times while moving from Texas back home to Minnesota. The price was great and the location (Wichita) was perfect for what we needed. It's an old hotel and probably could use some additional updates to the rooms, but the lobby looks fantastic. What made this place great though, was the staff we encountered. RaMonte (spelling?) was the main guy working the desk for most of the night and he was extremely hospitable, polite, courteous and helpful. I told him if I could hire him for a job I would do it in a heartbeat. I truly hope he's valued by the management at this property. Joaquin was working the night shift, and I also had a nice conversation with him after we returned from a late dinner. He was also highly personable and friendly. If I'm passing through this area again I would stay here again without even thinking about it. Also, the free drink at check-in was a nice touch.

I had to expect it because I always wanna make sure that my beds are nice for me to sleep in and I was so. Pissed so I had to call customer service. I'm definitely not going here ever again. Bad service I ever seen.

During our stay we found feces in the hallway and we told the staff, a week later it was still there upon checking out. We had cigarette burns in our bedding along with pubic head and what looked to be blood stains. The staff here either doesn't speak English or they don't care. We saw mold under the air unit in our room and no one offered a solution. There was no water pressure in our shower and we will never consider this place again.

Guy assured me it was the correct one. Nope, got booked at the W. Kellogg location. We got in around 10:00 pm; Sketchy neighborhood. Management wouldn't let me use my Costco membership to do the 15% off (I was able to do so at the Red Roof in Van Horn, TX 4 days prior), or the 10% off coupon that I got that morning for staying recently. Got into the room and was immediately met with a cockroach on the wall (smushed in the picture because I killed it with my flip flop before it could fly off), and several spiders. NO WORKING POOl. Then, we decided to leave early (8:00 am) to get out of there, and our back window was smashed in. Filed a police report, told the cameras couldn't be accessed except by a manager (not on site) but were told that the police don't do much since there's so much theft in the area. $500 back windshield and a four hour delay later we are back on the road. Very upset with how the hotel handled ALL the situations. After my 1st experience in Van Horn, I thought we found a good budget chain to use. I won't be staying at any red roof properties after this. If I could give a lower rating, I would.
