Thank you Dr Gelman!…read more I believe some people are here on earth to make a difference in people's lives, Dr Gelman at IVFMD (Cooper City) is one of them. I was with a previous Specialist and had the worst experience of my life. I had a very painful and traumatic HSG. I was told aggressively that if I wanted to get pregnant, I needed 2 different types of surgeries and straight to IVF. I felt defeated, scared and gave me extreme anxieties. I listened to my gut and switched to a different Specialist. I'm so happy I switched to Dr Gelman, I feel extremely fortunate and grateful to have found him. The first day I met him I knew he would be the right Doctor for me. He's very calm, compassionate, also direct when he needs to. I found him very caring, funny & kind. He listened to all my concerns and anxieties, answered all of our long lists of questions. His positive energy eased all my anxieties. He recommended holistic approach: healthy diet, exercise, supplements, accupuncture, yoga, stretching and to keep my stress level low. I did them all, what an amazing self care regiment that all women should practice! His recommendations totally work! Trust in him, trust the process, trust yourself. He was very thorough with all the bloodwork & tests. He was honest that my ovarian reserve were low and percentage of success were lower with IUI but remains hopeful and he said to keep moving forward. He performed an SIS which he confirmed uterine polyps. He then recommended surgery, then 2 rounds of IUI, if IUI didn't work then IVF. Turns out, I didn't need IVF. I had surgery in January. First round of IUI in February, Second round of IUI in March. By April we are pregnant! Physically and mentally, it was all taking a toll on me. I'm so grateful to have Dr Gelman and his team by my side. During covid I had to do most appointments by myself. The nurses and the team at IVFMD Cooper City are so kind especially Mica who held my hand during SIS and made me comfortable every visits. Darlene the phlebotomist always smiling and positive. Nurses: Joselyn who made us laugh during IUI, Jennifer who delivered the pregnancy news to us. Leslie from Boca who was at the Cooper City office on a weekend to do my IUI, she said she would get us pregnant :) and she did! Dr Wood who did my surgery perfectly! She was very thorough and removed all the polyps, short and quick recovery post operation. She said the reason why I couldn't get pregnant is because the polyps were in the way, preventing implantation. The team of billing are great, so thorough. They explained everything. Honest with pricing, billing, provides clear itemized statements. They handled our insurance perfectly. We never had any issues from our insurance, everything was covered. They're so on point! I highly recommend Dr Gelman and his entire team at IVFMD in Cooper City. I am beyond grateful and thankful for the highest level of care and compassion, organization and thoroughness. We were sad to leave his care. What an "A" Team! They are our lucky stars!

He was always open to listening to everything I had researched about. He was sympathetic, empathetic and a great friend throughout this process. It touched our hearts that he came to the clinic on his day off to make sure he would do the transfer. We do not miss all the injections and medicines, but we definitely miss seeing him. We cannot wait to visit him when our little bundle of joy is here.

He didn't even see me post surgery to tell me what had been done. The people, the staff , and administration is a hot mess. Getting a call back, wasn't easy, but nothing like the way they make you waste your time. You're supposed to call when you're on your period because everything is based around that, but only if you're lucky do you get an appointment on time. One day, after I had my first ultrasound post surgery, and asked if it was the right time to start taking the medication , my nurse Anay in Miramar had no clue and got defensive the more questions I asked. Mind you it was my first time starting any fertility treatment and I needed education. She was super unprofessional, and I came out of that appointment more than confused and overwhelmed. Apparently the system was down at the time and no one can give me an answer, come to find out I should have started the pills on that day so there went another month wasted. Then one month later, I go in for another base ultrasound again, as soon as I got there, to my surprise, there is bloodwork that needs to be drawn right after the ultrasound. I go and check in a couple of times to see why I was waiting so long (I waited 2 1/2 hours) the girl at the counter would always tell me I would be next. by the third time I went to the counter, She dug a little bit more into it and then she finds out that I did not need bloodwork that I had already completed my ultrasound and I was ready to Go. they made me wait 2 1/2 hours, I was late to work, and not even an apology. Again the staff and the administration lack so much knowledge, it's surprising to me how a prestigious doctor in the middle of Coral Gables who is so expensive, has staff that is so unprofessional, and have such a little knowledge and empathy in the subject matter. The turn over is crazy too, every time I went I dealt with new people. On another visit, they drew my blood work under the wrong last name, so she tosses the lab tubes and pokes me again without explaining what was going on. It wasn't until I insisted and she hesitated and sent me back out One thing I found peculiar was that they gave me no choice, but to use their specialty pharmacy :SMP. This pharmacy is cash only they rarely take any insurance, so good luck paying all of your expensive fertility medication's out of pocket. I had asked about using my insurances pharmacy which covers Fertility drugs, and apparently I couldn't use them. Typical Miami Scammers!!!! I got lost in the mix All I want to say is don't settle for bad service. Fed up with the awful quality of customer service at conceptions, I found another clinic, the staff is respectful and actually knowledgeable. I am able to use the specialty pharmacy covered by my insurance at no cost to me. I am more in touch with my doctor and staff. Grass is greener. Never settle for bad service.

I needed another way. Birth control and metformin can't be it! (they wouldn't even give me metformin unless I wanted to get pregnant) I have been struggling with PCOS and have taken birth control on/off all of my adult life. But the side effects caught up and wreaked havoc on my body. On the very long journey of seeking hormonal balance, I eventually found OvaHealth. It does appear that her main focus now is primarily fertility, male & female. So not sure about other services people have written about past reviews. I personally am not looking to get pregnant. But if you are or if you want to try something that is not going to suppress your body's natural function but help support your body naturally - definitely check it out. For the first time in over 6 years, I have had 3-4 regular cycles. It will not go past 7 days! Never thought I would be happy to get periods, but thanks to Dr. Zakes' help, I am. Dr. Zakes is knowledgeable but more importantly, she's passionate. It is very clear that she loves what she does and that it's her calling. Anything vagina - talk to her.

Disappointed by Billing Practices and Lack of Accountability…read moreI wish I could give NEGATIVE STARS. They are a corporation out for money, they don't care of patients. Even my acupuncturist that works with them said they used to care about patients and since they expanded the only care about money. I had an extremely frustrating experience with this fertility clinic, primarily due to their billing practices and lack of communication regarding insurance coverage. I underwent three IUIs and one medicated treatment cycle with this clinic. My first IUI cycle was covered by insurance without issue. However, for the subsequent cycles, the office began submitting diagnosis codes that did not align with my actual medical situation. As a result, my insurance denied coverage -- despite previously approving treatment. Even more concerning, required prior authorizations were not obtained when they should have been. This directly impacted my insurance coverage. Instead of correcting the issue or taking accountability, the clinic is now attempting to charge me self-pay rates for treatments that should have been covered. I am even being threatened with collections. Fertility treatment is already emotionally and financially overwhelming. Patients trust clinics not only with their health but also with proper insurance handling. Unfortunately, my experience felt more focused on revenue than patient advocacy or transparency. I strongly recommend that anyone considering treatment here double- and triple-check insurance authorizations themselves and document everything. I wish I had known to be more proactive. Very disappointing experience.

I've had several interactions with Dr. Wood throughout the years. I will say she's professional; however, her delivery is not always the best. Nonetheless, I prefer professionalism over delivery. Ultrasounds for Dr. Woods are conducted by techs or Nurses. Therefore, if you have any medical questions you want to ask during the procedure she won't be in the room. There is no real direct contact with Dr. Woods, unless it's during your consultation and after labs are conducted to discuss results and a treatment plan. I didn't complete the trratment with the practice so I can't say how the interactions are with Dr. Woods after that point. However, I believe it's sparse and few. You may see her only again on the day of retrieval. The exam rooms are not the cleanest. I've seen dust throughout. Appointment wait times at IVFMD are ridiculous. Be prepared for extended wait times to be seen. I've waited over 1 hour to be called once and I was on time for my appointment. The clinic prematurely demands payment for services. I didn't even have my medications or obtained approval from Progny to start treatment. Yet they requested payment for Zymot. I also had ultrasound and lab tests, I believed that could've been billed through Progny. When I questioned check out about it they said Progny only covers treatment and the services provided were not treatment. I later found out through Progny that the services would've been covered if they utilized the appropriate billing codes. Long story short, my primary health insurance covered the diagnostic testing I paid for. The clinic processed a refund that took 3 months for me to receive via check. If you paid with a debit/credit card or cash, they will not refund you via the same payment method you provided. On a good note, the practice does offer, monthly IVF raffles to help those in need which is a great thing. They are great at communicating with patients promptly. They can call you if you request with no problem. The IVF Coordinator I was assigned was great. In conclusion, if you're looking for a practice where you do not feel like you're just another number in a factory, want more personalized services, a clean facility, the best treatment plan based on your circumstances and advance onsite laboratory services; IVFMD may not be for you.

I was referred to this practice by my OB (whom I love, btw) so I trusted her referral completely. I scheduled an appointment with Dr. Weitzman. From our initial consultation onward, she was extremely personable, professional and courteous. I can extend those same adjectives to the staff - nurses, billing, front desk, etc. There was even an issue with billing on one of my services but they were more than able to help resolve the issue with my insurance. Dr. Weitzman wasnt typically reachable by phone, but whenever I left a message, she or her staff would promptly return my calls. She was always sensitive towards my needs and always went above and beyond in communicating with me. I would highly recommend her!

I had previously been a patient of Dr. Maxson and had known many of the staff at this practice for nearly twenty years, so I trusted the care I would receive. During my initial consultation, Dr. Gualtieri assured me he would help determine the cause of my pain and, if necessary, perform a laparoscopy. After my first endometrial biopsy, I was diagnosed with endometritis, which I appreciated because no previous physician had considered that diagnosis. However, when I asked how we could confirm the infection had resolved after antibiotics, Dr. Gualtieri told me a culture would be sufficient. Because this conflicted with what I had read, I contacted another fertility clinic. After consulting with Dr. Chamoun, their nurse explained that a biopsy--not a culture--is required to confirm endometritis. I ultimately underwent three additional biopsies, yet my pain never improved. Dr. Gualtieri also told me that my HSG showed my fallopian tubes were patent. This conflicted with what Dr. Maxson had documented after my prior laparoscopy, when he informed me my tubes were severely damaged and could not be repaired. After I shared this history, Dr. Gualtieri suggested my tubes had "healed" because I had been eating well. My current fertility specialist advised that this is not medically possible and that the HSG images were too blurry to interpret reliably. As a result, I underwent unnecessary radiation exposure and paid for a diagnostic test that ultimately could not be used. At one point during my care, Dr. Gualtieri called and attempted to refer me to another surgeon. He did not explain why he no longer intended to perform the laparoscopy he had originally agreed to if it became necessary. I was left confused because his recommendation conflicted with the assurances he had given me at my initial consultation. During my last physical, which included a pelvic examination, I felt body-shamed by Dr. Gualtieri's conduct. While examining me, he shook his head. I interpreted this gesture as disapproving or judgmental. He then asked whether I had given birth to two children, even though my medical history reflected that I had two prior vaginal deliveries. I found this interaction upsetting and felt it lacked sensitivity and professionalism during a vulnerable medical examination. My nurse, Courtney, was present during the examination. Before my final consultation, I repeatedly requested another appointment through the patient portal, but my messages went unanswered for approximately two months. Distressed by the lack of communication, I called the office and requested to speak with a manager. At my subsequent appointment, Dr. Gualtieri appeared distant, maintained little meaningful communication, and stated he did not feel proficient performing laparoscopies and therefore could not help me. As I was leaving, he remarked, "I'm not just going to kick you to the curb." Combined with his earlier comment describing me as "matronly," these interactions left me feeling uncomfortable, diminished, and uncertain about continuing my care. After that visit, I sent Dr. Gualtieri a certified letter asking whether he still wanted me as a patient. Approximately one month later, he called and told me, "We want to help you." Although I later had to cancel several appointments because of my declining health, I cancelled each one in advance in accordance with office policy. When I attempted to reschedule my final cancelled appointment, I was first told I could not be rescheduled and was later informed that I had been dismissed from the practice for multiple missed appointments. This explanation was inconsistent with my records documenting that I had cancelled in advance. After approximately two and a half years as Dr. Gualtieri's patient, I was deeply disappointed to be dismissed under circumstances that I believe did not accurately reflect my attendance record. During this time, Dr. Gualtieri was aware that I had developed significant health problems that affected my ability to travel to appointments, yet no one from the practice contacted me to discuss my situation or explore whether another provider within the practice could continue my care. Instead, I felt excluded from a practice where I had placed my trust for many years, leaving me with the impression that compassion and continuity of care had been replaced by indifference.
