Solid 3.5 Star breakfast & lunch deli in the Glen Roc Shopping Center on Scotch Road in Ewing, NJ. Décor is minimalist, with a few tables near the counter and kitchen and a second dining room to the right with ten more tables when the crowd arrives. The joint is clean and the service is friendly and efficient. Ordering is done at the cashier, and one of the staff brings the food to the table. There seems to be a group of regular alder cockers hanging out, but they are amusing and harmless. My breakfast sausage, egg & cheese sandwich arrived with a small container of orange juice, a nice unexpected touch. The roll was better than average with a fresh firm crust and flakey innards. It was a good sammy with oozing American cheese and fried egg. I would certainly have it again if nearby in the morning. The coffee was hot and middle of the road in strength. Price was under $6 for food and beverage; a very attractive price. If Deli-Licious Café had a bit more character and comfort, it could easily garner the fourth star. read more

So I was hesitant to review this place after the first trip. It felt unfair to take a deli to task for an average at best roasted veggie salad and chicken rice soup with dry chunks of meat - it's a deli for crying out loud! Still, if they serve it, it's fair game. Honestly, the salad was ok, but not overly flavorful and the balsamic dressing looked and tasted like nothing more than balsamic vinegar. The problem was that I liked the place, if not for the food. Sportscenter was playing on the tv above the drink fridge, there's a fine selection of Cape Cod and Dirty chips for my perusal (love the smoky chipotle), and a stack of brownies that were calling my name. So in the spirit of fair play I decided to visit again before passing judgment. The second time around I walked in with my mind set on ordering a standard sub sandwich. But as I strode to the counter, I noticed the special of the day and made a snap decision. 5-10 minutes later I walked out the door with the chicken soft tacos, wondering "why the hell did I just do that? I called an ill-advised audible, and now I'm going to have to pan this deli for average soup, salad and tacos?" Luckily for me it didn't come to that. The chicken tacos were actually quite good - freshly grilled chicken, tangy pico de gallo and a healthy sprinkling of cheese made for very tasty tacos. The only fault would be that they fell apart too easily in my hands. On the other hand, the accompanying broccoli salad was an unexpected source of dissatisfaction. This dish was designed for people who hate broccoli (which I am not), drowning in super sweet glaze with raisins and bacon bits. It was much too sweet, and had an odd grainy texture from the crystallized sugar in the cold glaze. What a waste of perfectly fine broccoli. Fortunately for me I purchased one of the aforementioned brownies and was not forced to end on a down note. read more

Man I love this place. Deli-Licious has become my go to breakfast/lunch place over the last two weeks. I'll tell you it was a big leap for me to drive past Primo's and give this little shop a try and boy am I glad I did! I haven't had any of the problems of the other reviewers had or felt the need to complain about and have found my choices delicious and portions beyond satisfying. 4 stars for the breakfasts, lunches, and coffees that I've enjoyed so far. 5th star for being my kind of little (actually bigger than I would have guessed) no frills joint where the regulars gather and they know you by name... read more

Todd the owner is great! He is very personable with each of his regular crowd. Everytime i walk into the deli it is packed and his food is always the way i order! Love his "themed" sandwiches and pasta salad! He is now featuring daily specials and is making home made muffins that are out of this world. If you haven't come here in a while i suggest you do, he has made some really good changes and is always open for suggestions! I eat here often and always leave feeling satisfied. read more

"Deli-Licious"? Not. Stopped by for the first time today to pick up a sandwich for lunch. Ordered Italian sub which only had 5 slices (yes, I counted them) of meat on a large role. For $7.99, I call that a major rip-off. Take my advice and walk right past this place and go to Primo Hoagies which is a few doors down in the same shopping center. I used to drive past Deli-licious every day without a second thought. Honestly, the place lacks curb appeal, and does not scream "EAT HERE!" One day I just said "what the hell," and stepped inside. Ever since, I hit this place once a week for breakfast, and as soon as I find compelling evidence that sausage, eggs and home fries are good for you, I will go every day. Everything I've ever had here has been killer. Haven't gotten around to trying lunch, but the menu looks promising. The service is friendly and efficient, the prices reasonable, and the food extremely tasty. Judging by the small-ish but loyal crowds I see there, this place is Ewing's best kept secret. read more

I ordered two egg sandwiches and 2 hashbrowns today, received only 2 sandwiches. Opened mine and had raw egg yolk covering the top of the roll, opened the sandwich raw yolk spilled out. Pregnant, can't eat that. Brought it in was told it's not raw egg, it's yolk, that I shouldn't expect the yolk to ever be cooked on a fried egg...I should request scrambled?!?! I stated that had I wanted an overeasy egg on my sandwich I would have asked for that not a raw egg. Was then told raw egg is what comes out of an egg shell when you cracked it open and I should look it up. Really? So rude and disappointing. Very smug employee-first time that ever happened there but certainly the last time I will ever go back. We are a large doctors office and we order from here 3-4 times a week. Today we had ordered a meal for a few of the employees all paying different methods, 2 paid with card and the remaining in cash, when the delivery man came one of the physicians forgot to mention she was paying with a card so I called the restaurant to pay via phone with her card and we'd pay the remaining in cash. I got a young lady who I explained the situation to her she stated that they only do 2 card transactions only, I explained we have a high volume of orders a few times a week for our office and we have never been told that policy before, while she was on the phone she asked the manger of the restaurant and he stated no only 2 transactions. I mentioned again we order multiple times a week and never had this problem and in the background you can hear the manager was rude and said either they can pay with cash or return the food with the driver. As a manger of a company with a huge business receiving high volume orders from a doctors office I would not turn away they're service. They have messed up orders, forgotten to deliver items, they've told us in the past they can't deliver it we should go pick it up. Although they have good food, horrible service from manager. Not only have they lost good business they're menu has been deposed from the office and we refuse to order from this company again!! read more

Very disappointed with the delivery service today. It's a shame because I love their food and it's literally delicious, but so not worth the poor service. I called to place my order for delivery at my job which is less than 5 minutes away. I ordered a grilled chicken salad and a fajita wrap for my co-worker at approx. 12:42pm. The person who took my order over the phone told me they'd have it delivered in 25 minutes. My lunch break was at 1:15pm. I called at 1:30pm they said the delivery man was out already driving on the way so I waited longer. Basically I had to sit and wait my whole break. With over an hour of waiting I called and cancelled our orders. Not sure if they are short staffed, but this is absolutely unacceptable. I understand they are busy, but to lie about the time it will take to deliver, it's better to be honest than not waste peoples time. THANK GOD I was going to pay with cash because had they charged my debit card I would've had a whole other issue. read more

I was told there was a great hoagie shop in this shopping center. When I pulled in I saw Deli-Licious. I was guessing this must be the place. OH MY GOD was i mistaken. I ordered an italian hoagie. What a joke, it was a bread sandwich. The bread was hard, it no meat on it. The place was empty and it took 15 minutes to get my sandwich. The dish I got had mustard that they didn't clean from the last guy. To top it off it was $7.99. This guy who I am guessing is the owner when running out of the store and comes back 3 minutes later with a hand full of change from the bank. I guess my sandwich could wait. I was so upset at the person who told me about this place that I called him from my car when I left. Little did I know I went to the correct shopping center but the wrong deli. He wanted me to go to Primohoagies. They are in the other end of the shopping center. Long story short I turned around and got a Primohoagie to take home for dinner. Good GOD people it was heaven. Even 5 hours later. How Deli-Licious is in business is beyond me. I had to laugh before I wrote this I read Karen K. review of this place.
