Ah the same bomb ass food I remember having in Clear Lake so long ago. Busy on a Wednesday at 1, and rightfully so. Torta, with real Torta bread just as delicious as I remember. Tacos, rice, beans all great. Super burrito is massive adult male could finish half, and it's fucking good. Best Mexican food I've had around the whole lake! Don't be fooled by the size from outside. You can see the kitchen from the front counter and it's CLEAN and so is the seating..can't stress that enough! The guacamole we ordered was mislabeled, it should be called tomato & onion salsa with avocado or onion tomato salsa with avocado, very disappointing. The chicken mole had what appeared to be two cold cut thin slices of breast meat, but the flavor was good. The rice and bean portions that come with the meal are criminally small. How much do rice and beans cost? Come on, put more than two tablespoons of it in the container. We were very excited to try the new ownership, especially being so convenient but we were extremely disappointed. We probably will give it another few chances but with low expectations. read more

If you are diabetic, I would not suggest eating anything with red sauce, as it is extremely salty, so much we could not eat the main dish. I probably wouldn't have left a review but I noticed they didn't have a stellar review like they absolutely deserve. A wait of over 1 hour for a mediocre burrito for my co-patron. My first attempt at my order came out with completely different items than I ordered. (I order a plate right off the menu) the final order came out wrong again. Chicken rather than cheese enchilada. It took an hour for the wrong order and I was done with my meal before my co-patrons was even served. They never came around to offer more chips, salsa or drinks. My experience: This place confuses me. It's like a general grocery store, with mostly Mexican sundry/food items, but it is also a cafe of some sort. It wouldn't take much, but they could surely use a design remodel of making the two in one space, more separated and delineated, with just how they organize the interior. The kitchen is in the very back, while the eating area is in the front, right side. The grocery shelves and the refrigerated beverages fill in between the rest. I can only review the super burrito. Yuck! Not good. I ordered the shredded beef filling. When I finally got my order, after waiting a long time, for just a single burrito, which shouldn't really take that long to make. (I initially wanted just a regular size burrito, but the cashier said, that they don't offer that size. Really...? You can't scale down and make a smaller size one and charge less?) Anyway, I was tired and hungry, from a long day of hiking in the mountains. I went to my car to eat, since I was pressed for time and didn't feel like eating inside, because I felt dusty and sweaty. I could smell the burrito and on first impression, it smelled like canned dog food or cat food. It was kind of off putting. So, I continued to eat this burrito, which mostly consisted of refried beans and rice. I swear the shredded beef was from a can of beef stew! Maybe, it was a burro, not beef? It did not have classic Mexican flavor, but a strange peas, carrot, celery, and tomato base association. That was a slap in the face! Followed by a kick in the stomach, because there was not even a lot of the "shredded beef" in proportion to the rice and beans. Probably a good thing, since that canned beef stew flavor was an american recipe inside of all places, a Mexican burrito. That burrito cost close to $10.00 bucks/burros! Couldn't finish it. Watch out for hair in your food! And the owner is aware and doesn't care! Horrible experience overall!! We called to place a order for pick up. One wet burrito and one taquito plate. When we picked it up and got home they messed up our order. So we called and told them exactly what happened. So they said they fix it and to come back. Which we did. My boyfriend told me to check before we leave this time and I did the order was correct so we drove home. Once I get home after the second time I open my container and there is a short black hair on the cheese and hair in the taquito. Like really! So I call and tell them again they said okay come in which I did again. The said they only give me money back for one of the meals. Basically my boyfriend needs to eat his food cold because they messed up twice. Wow even worse is when I told the manager about hair being in my food the manager rubbed his hand over his head and said I have short hair so what with attitude?!? Like really they didn't care giving me attitude because his hair fell in my food. I have never experienced such horrible service especially with as many times as they messed up in one visit. I'm just here to warn people they don't care if their worker hair get in your food and they will give you attitude for it. And worse once we were done with the conversation the gentleman that rubbed his head went right back to preparing food didn't even wash his hands!
