Recently for the first time I decided to visit this deli since I had read lots of great reviews…read moreabout it and I love European food. But this deli was the biggest disappointment for me. First impression was not what all the reviews wrote online. The front of the store (front entrance) is just not inviting (dark, unclean). Inside it was a very small, dark shop where four people let alone two could not move around. The stock of food was small with no range at all and it was mainly polish food not a variety of Russian, Ukrainian and Polish like it is advertised. As well the food prices were very expensive. I saw a box of chocolates there that cost $26 when in another shop a similar box was around $7 The food on the front counter (smallgoods) looked unappetizing (dry looking) and most of the food on the shelves looked like they had been standing on the shelves for a very long time due to the dust and yellowed appearance. In all I only spent 2 minutes in the shop and walked out very disappointed and deceived by all those "great" reviews online. I have been to better looking, bigger shop, wide variety of food, lower prices and cleaner European deli's in Sydney than this one. I will not be recommending this deli to anyone it is not worth the time or money going to it. VERY DISAPPOINTED!

How can a classic bacon and eggs with all the trimmings... Come out as a egg and bacon roll... Oh I am not dressed as if I am working on a building site... I don't want my cufflinks falling in the crumbs of a roll falling apart!! I sent it back!! The owner came out and asked what was the order. I repeated it verbatim! Oh then the lass asked me to pay the difference , waiting for me to pay the money at the table! The hide!! Sent her away with my cutting tongue! Yes paid the difference...but not happy with the service. The food was just ok. I will not be rushing back.

The cafe looks good and there is steady stream of customers to grab that early coffee hit 'on the run'. But something is missing. Maybe music. Maybe a hit of personality from the staff. I ordered MUNCH's Iconic Brekkie, aka scrambled eggs, smoked salmon & avo on my first visit. Returned today & tried Avo Smash & added a poached egg to the order. Food was good... but this wouldn't be my first choice for brekkie in the area.

Ok so it's not a dark ally or some secret entrance, but the main entrance to the Gordon Village Fruit Market is not on the main road (Pacific Hwy), but on the one-way street behind the Gordon Village by the car park next to the station. This specialty market wholesale their fresh fruits and vegetables so their prices are less than your retail market and the quality is fantastic. They have weekly specials that help out even more and they are bringing in new lines of deli products every week. It's one of our great little local finds.
