European deli sandwiches with quality ingredients and generous portions on fresh baked bread. It's so obvious, DeLishka is delicious! Though a bit obscure and hard to find, those who want a good sandwich know where to go. There is a curated selection of Italian, French and German sandwiches. This was my first visit so ordered a Cipriani with Italian mortadella, marscapone(!), arugula, pistachios and balsamic. It was the marscapone that sold me, but this was generously portioned and (let's be honest) messy for me to eat because the sandwich was piled high. I had to take half to go. I heard a few orders for the Gusti dal Nord (prosciutto, Gorgonzola, arugula and pear), and that sounds enticing as well. The bread is fresh and crusty. They had a tomato soup the day I was there, and I read on the website that they have pierogato -- Eastern European dumplings. read more

Just tried this spit. I had a Cipriani and my friend had a Caprese. Our sandwiches were very tasty overall. The bread was freshly baked, the meats sliced correctly and toppings tasty. The mascarpone was more like mayo or butter which I didn't like. The pistachios they add to the sandwich are literally pistachios which is odd. A spread or something would be better. The prices were very fair but we did have to wait about half hour to receive our order. There was one person making sandwiches and one person doing the payments. The place has crummy ambience. The interior is kinda gloomy and the music was loud and unappealing so it would be hard to have a conversation inside and there are two tables outside but they are right along the parking so, again, not appealing. The menu could be bigger and include maybe a couple salads or something else. We liked what we had but I think they need to do a little more to create a place that's really craveable. It's good to have a local sandwich shop option. It this place needs a bit more on its menu and a vibe inside to make it really something special for sandwich lovers. read more

From the moment you walk in to the very first bite - everything is a solid 10/10! The staff was super accommodating and let me modify my order, which turned out absolutely delicious. I went with the turkey sandwich, added arugula and a balsamic glaze... wow. The flavors were perfectly balanced, and the bread was unbelievably fresh - soft on the inside with just the right crunch. Took me me awhile to finally try it, but definitely worth the wait. So this is a very unassuming small sandwich shop. You very well could miss it. The staff was very nice and got the sandwich made quickly, Bread was out of the oven and still warm, meat freshly sliced, and the lettuce, and tomato were both ample and fresh. I like turkey sandwiches but most of the time they are bland, and just OK. This was one different. The smoked turkey was very flavorful. Other ingredients definitely added to that overall. They didn't need to add a bunch of sauces or aiolis to doctor up the sandwich because it had an enough flavor as it is! All the elements including the lettuce tasted fresh so they offered nice balance of different textures. Way better than Jersey Mike's, a few dollars more but definitely worth it. DeLishka is delicious! We stopped by here on a weekend because the brunch place nearby it had a 30 minute wait. The menu looked intriguing and I'm glad we went! The shop isn't very big but has seating as well as tables. It's more of a deli style where you order to go and they had really unique options like duck sandwiches and German sandwiches (with a pickle) as well as the yummiest pierogis that were super buttery! They also have a great selection of unique soft drinks. My guests loved their sandwiches. Service was wonderful! The food came out fast and fresh! There was plenty of free parking in the lot as well! Hole in the wall place that surprised me greatly! I had the tante carne and it lived up to its name! Lots of meat. This beats Jersey Mike's and all other sub sandwich places I've had ever. Located in a strip style mall on Waukegan it is I hidden gem. The tante crane was flavorful, the bread was crispy and it was DELICIOUS! read more

Wow what a find. After taking my parents to the botanical garden I searched for a filling for a pastrami sandwich. I stumbled on this place on my search minus the pastrami. Fresh baked bread, fresh cut meat martabella, and creamy mascaporne on the Cipriani. Delicious! The owner was so pleasant and so was his staff. Priced for everyone to enjoy. Stopped in here yesterday for lunch. I was in the area for work, I was hungry, I love sandwiches, it was close. I figured I'd be able to grab a nice, classic Italian sub and it would do the job. No no. I was warmly greeted and asked if I'd ever been there before. I had not. Gentleman mentioned the tanta carne sandwich, and tbh, I just said "yes" because I was hungry. That sub was one of THE BEST sandwiches I've ever had. It's simple, but perfect. Decent prices, too! My sub was $13.50 for footlong made with QUALITY ingredients. Baguettes imported from France and finished in the oven for the perfect crispy flavor. How fortuitous to find this place close to an errand that I had in Glenview; yet, how unfortunate that we don't have anything similar in my own town. The sandwiches are beautiful and delicious, as well as generously portioned. I really enjoyed watching the gentleman crafting them by hand, starting with slicing the meats and cheeses to order. Had 3 sandwiches ordered for pick up at like 945am, went in and they were ready to go. The bread was fresh, amazing and the meats/toppings were too, you can order your own combination sandwich. They make their own french baguette's which would be great for banh mi's and other types of sandwiches. Service was friendly, on time and quick. Nice clean sandwich shop with some very interesting international options. I had to go for the typical Parisian since I'd had one in Paris and this didn't disappoint! Crusty baguette loaded with tender ham slices and soft brie cheese. Huge sandwich so I will be enjoying this again tomorrow for lunch! My daughter had the BLT and that bacon looked delish! Great place for sandwiches! I went here with my husband because of the great yelp reviews and it didn't disappoint. Cute small place with a few tables and chairs to sit at. When we got there there was only the owner doing everything. Taking orders, making the food etc so there was a long line and I ended up having to wait 30 minutes before getting my food. Felt bad because he was working so hard. However I think he usually has help so maybe this was a one time thing. I got the caprese with Prosciutto and it was great! I would get this again. Very fresh tasting with a yummy pesto. My husband had a turkey sandwich (which was way too big for one person) and added bacon but the bacon was overcooked unfortunately. We also had a hazelnut pastry that was yummy. Overall I would go back as long as the wait isn't as long next time. Their bread is imported from France and tasted amazing. read more

I recently tried DeLishka Sandwiches in Glenview and was really impressed. It's a small, sandwich shop with a few tables for dining in if you'd like to stay and eat. I ordered the Caprese with prosciutto and it was absolutely delicious--the ingredients tasted incredibly fresh, and the pesto was amazing. They have a great variety of options, including many European-style sandwiches, which adds a nice variety you don't usually see at a typical sandwich shop. The staff is also very friendly and welcoming, it's always nice to go somewhere where you feel appreciated as a customer. I also appreciated how reasonable the prices are for what you get--it's hard to find this level of freshness and flavor at such a good value. My errand took a bit longer so but I arrived around 8:40 for pickup (at Once Upon a Grill; they must get it a lot because they pointed me to the Deli). When I got to the Deli and let them know I was picking up an order I placed the man looked confused, asked if I placed an order, then walked down and looked at something and said to give him a few minutes, during which they cooked my order. So the order placed an hour before pickup was 20 minutes late because they don't check their system. I learned later that they open at 8-about 40 minutes after the order was placed--but whatever system they use has controls for when to take orders and when to stop online order taking. If they're going to allow folks to place orders before the shop opens for pickup after, they need to either update the schedule for the online ordering system to not accept orders before opening, or they need to look and see what if anything has come in. Really disappointing because this made me running late for work. And it wasn't helped at all by the attitude of the folks working there. Not a sorry, not an excuse or explanation, nothing. And even with that indifference I was going to buy a dozen bagels and some cream cheese, but the guy just tossed my order on the counter when it was done without a word. So, I left. There are better bagels elsewhere anyway.

The staff told me that they left the sandwich opened in 2 halves because the eggs were not fully cooked. That was pretty thoughtful of them. I also ordered a raisin bagel with strawberry cream cheese. It was toasted to perfection, with a nice crispiness on the outside, and the right kind of chewiness inside. That's what a perfect bagel should be! It had a slight sweetness because of my fruity choices. The bagel was big and was packaged very well. I read that people had driven long distance to OUAD for their bagels. We are so lucky that it's only a 5-to-6-minute drive from home. I will definitely come back for more bagels.
