When we arrived, we arrived in a tiny shop, and the proprietor welcomed us, and had us go up a small winding staircase, which led to a small, very intimate dining room. They have a good selection of high-quality wines and an assortment of younger, inexpensive wines. The Italian chef, who prepares the meals fresh to order in the dining room, prepared some amazing dishes. We ordered everything Family Style, so we could all try everything. One in our part is unable to eat fresh onion, or fresh lactose products, and the chef easily accommodated us. For starters, we started with the Carpaccio, which was the best we have had anywhere. Fresh, mouthwatering, bold flavors, leaving you wanting more! The Carpaccio was memorable and would travel again for this! The perfectly cooked Octopus was also delightful, with roasted grape tomatoes, started us off with very high expectations of what was to come. For our main entrees, we had Lasagna. A different style than I have ever had, and it was incredible, being one of the best I have ever tried, which is not said lightly. We had gnocchi with a fresh truffle sauce, which was to die for, intense, yet subtle, flavors exploding on the palate, this was incredible. A perfectly cooked loin with red wine and cherry reduction sauce that was spectacular. We loved everything so much we decided to order one more thing. We wanted some ravioli, and since the Chef had now earned our trust tenfold, we asked him to prepare something not on the menu, and he came up with a delicate tasting, but exquisite sauce with tomato, asparagus, which really finished off our meal in style. For Desserts we had an apple dessert which was excellent and a pie that was also wonderful with an accompanying cream that was heaven. Our waiter, Emanuel was very good, knew the menu, was however busy at times with helping the chef, which could be improved so we could be slightly more attended to, but in the setting and style of the restaurant, this was not really a bother, and we could always ask him for something. This was a truly memorable dining experience and would go back to Monterrey just for a meal here, it is that good!

The molecular jäggerbomb, Ferrari and Lamborghini are insane! Great place to enjoy any of them. The last two include a fire show. Overall, price isn't too harsh. We had a great night at this place and would suggest it for a non-clubbing night out.

It's a…read moreSunday night and we do not speak/read any spanish so figuring out where to go or what to see had been difficult the entire time. I found the reviews for Sr. Mostacho on Yelp and I thought it would be a place we would enjoy. Young crowd, good vibes, great music, and of course, drinks! We had dinner in the Centrito Valle area which is very beautiful. We decided to walk to find Sr. Mostacho. At this time of night on a Sunday it was very quiet. We walked by all the bigger clubs (closed of course) and I regret not getting a chance to visit them. The next thing we know, we hear pounding electronic dance music from a parking lot. We quicken our step and sure enough, we found the spot! Sr. Mostacho reminds me of a club, without the pretentiousness. The music is loud and fun, but no one is dancing on a dance floor, everyone is at a table drinking and singing (bottle service is available!). It was a really neat experience because most sit-down type bars or pubs in Canada play rock or live music. The people at this bar were very friendly and showed us some of the interesting drinks you can get there. They ordered us a Mexican flag which was lime juice, tequila, and some kind of red drink. Most people spoke english here so it was easy to communicate. I wish there was a Sr. Mostacho here in Canada. It would be my new favourite place! I guess I will have to venture to Monterrey again one day!

Pepper is an overpriced, bougie, "fresa" bar that is only special because it's in San Pedro and…read moreappears wealthy. It is also VERY discriminatory and you should avoid giving your business to this establishment. We were celebrating my husbands birthday here and had about 30 friends coming. We had reserved a table, bought bottles, and ended up spending near $1000 USD. Anyone who was thin, white, and under 30 had no problems getting in. Anyone darker, heavier, or over 30 was held at the door and were asked the name the reservation was under (no one else was asked this). When these people gave the name, they were told they couldn't come in and given no reason. Several times, we had to go down and fight the bouncer, who called another guy over to handle it, who was on the walkie talkie with someone else debating letting certain people in. Meanwhile, all the "right" people walked right past with no questions or interrogation. Finally, all of our friends made it in for the night. But it was disgusting and infuriating that our friend who was darker skinned Mexican and our other friend who was bigger than a size 8 were embarrassed and disrespected in such a discriminatory way. I've been here before and have always felt it was overpriced and overrated. But I will not be going back here again. I suggest you spend your money somewhere that will value all of your guests and will actually be reasonably priced. Pepper sucks.
