History

Established in 1938.

Opgericht in 1938 door Frans Dellafaille, staat bakkerij Dellafaille nu meer dan zeventig jaar lang voor kwaliteit en originaliteit. De bakkerij werd origineel opgericht in de Verbertstraat in Schoten. Tijdens de Tweede Wereldoorlog verhuisde ze naar de Villerslei, ook te Schoten. Dat gebouw werd gebombardeerd en terug opnieuw opgetrokken. In 1967 werd het bedrijf overgenomen door de zoon, Jozef Dellafaille en groeide het uit tot de bloeiende zaak, die ze tot op heden nog steeds is. Jozef gaf in 1993 de fakkel door aan zijn oudste zoon, Jan Dellafaille, die nog steeds de zaakvoerder is van de bakkerij aan de Villerslei te Schoten. In oktober 1996 werd onder leiding van Michel Dellafaille (Jan's jongere broer) een nieuwe zaak te Schilde geopend. Op 17 maart 2010 opende Jan Dellafaille ook een nieuwe zaak op het Antwerpse Zuid, waar u dezelfde service en dezelfde specialiteiten worden aangeboden zoals in Schoten. Shopmanager Vanessa Roggeman volgt de zaak hier mee op.

Soft sourdough with lots & lots of hunks of semisweet chocolate to give it a little bit of sweetness but combined with the sourdough It was bread perfection! Since I was just hungry, I tried to look for a food stand and caught Waffles in the stall. They were very cheaper than other Waffle's price in Antwerpen. I decided to buy one. It was 6 Euro. The price was good, and the tastes was marvelous. Above all, it was so beautiful view that Grote Markt Square was surrounded by the monumental fountain and the magnificent buildings, Guild Houses, City Hall. The Grote Markt Square is probably best known for the beautiful houses of the Guilds which align the Square. Those buildings are relatively new. The original houses were destroyed in the fire of 1576. They rebuilt in Flemish Renaissance style, but were revamped again in the nineteenth century.
