The PFA was eventually removed after my ex secured the home and temp custody, of the children. At that time I hurredly rushed through to find an attorney. This is a mistake that I will never make again. Not all attorneys or firms are created equal. Not all representation is good or beneficial. Which was proven by Tyler who was professional and informative. Tyler called out the efforts that filing this 2nd PFA was committed to doing which was an effort to keep my children from me. Unfortunately this happens... Tyler worked with opposing counsel and was able to get it withdrawn. Even if it's not valid...the courts dont and won't necessarily take that same stream of thought. Which is why the attorney in your corner means everything in your case. Divorce isn't about bad relationships it's about whom knows and wields the best understanding of the law. So don't rush to obtain someone with a juris doctorate. Do some research folks. Wish I'd done so previously. This firm didnt handle my divorce but I do have an expectation for service and quality of care now that this firm set the standard. I bet if I had this firm my entire experience with the courts would have been different. I felt represented with this firm. I felt as though right does prevail occasionally and since they withdrew the action. It certainly did. I went through several attorneys during my court experience. Beyond that, I struggle to point to what I paid for. My expectation wasn't just to plead to a lesser charge--that's the basic job of a criminal defense attorney. I expected communication, advocacy, and the feeling that someone was actually fighting for me. Instead he is quite condescding when he even is at fault. Instead, communication was poor. At one point, Brandon referred my mom--who was simply a witness--to another attorney at the another firm. In my opinion, there was no reason my own attorney couldn't have handled that instead of sending me to a colleague and generating another legal bill. It felt completely unnecessary. He will tell you otherwise, but it had no bearing in my case. Things got worse when Brandon went on vacation without telling me. I couldn't get ahold of him, no one showed up when I expected representation in court, and I was left scrambling. I was so frustrated that I took it out on his secretary, and she didn't deserve that. My frustration was with the lack of communication, not with her. When I finally spoke to Brandon, his response was essentially that I had "messed up" and that I was free to find another attorney. That's easy to say after you've already collected thousands of dollars. There was never any discussion of refunding fees or taking responsibility for how the situation was handled. The part that really left a bad taste in my mouth came after everything was over. Suddenly, communication wasn't a problem anymore. I received an email asking me to leave him a positive review, complete with a convenient link. I wish half that effort had gone into communicating with me while I was actually a client. I can't speak for the rest of Roth Davies or its attorneys. This review is only about my experience with Brandon Roth. He obtained a plea agreement, and I'll acknowledge that. But for the amount I paid, the communication, unnecessary referral, and overall client experience fell far short of what I expected. I would not hire him again. I wouldn't even trust him as part of my kid's little league or basketball team, morals left a long ago. Caveat: read my reviews, I don't rate this low and I usufally refrain from posting a 1 or star.

Nothing could be further from the truth, based on my experience. The legal defense my criminal case required was very complex, yet Laura's lengthy career experience on trials while working at the District Attorney's office meant she deftly handled every aspect without any issues in communication or timely filing of motions. Not only that, but she proved I was unlawfully arrested and my case was dismissed, when most other criminal defense attorneys would have just taken my money and advised me to accept a plea deal. Pre-trial dismissal based on lack of probable cause is so rare for Kansas misdemeanors, the State even argued it wasn't possible when she filed her motion for it. Laura proved it was possible when Judge Sample sided with her argument. We even made some Kansas case history doing so. That isn't even all Laura has done for me. It's rare for a defense attorney to also have the depth of knowledge to also handle Family Law, but she has done so by working on a case for the civil side at the same time as she was working my criminal case. On that separate case, she has been equally spectacular. I will always recommend Juris Law. Unfortunately, my experience with Mr. Pietz has been devastating. From the very beginning, he showed little effort or compassion in representing me. He refused to include critical personal evidence and firsthand experiences that could have supported my case. He was aware that the government was going through reductions in force, and now, during this shutdown, I've been left struggling to pay my balance. I explained clearly that without an approved budget, we lose overtime -- yet instead of understanding, I was met with threats when I couldn't pay immediately after court. I'm a single, hardworking mother with no living family, having just bought my first home nine months ago. I'm trying to refinance and take out an equity loan, so I can't even open a credit card right now. I recently went through an incredibly traumatic and unjust custody case, filled with false accusations and parental alienation. Despite being the stable parent, the court ruled against me, and I'm now ordered to pay child support for the child my ex kept from me -- something I simply cannot afford right now. On top of that, I've faced major unexpected expenses: an emergency root canal and crown, a broken window repair, and now car repairs -- all of which I've provided proof for. I even communicated my hardship to his assistant, who assured me that they understood. Yet when I reminded Mr. Pietz of that conversation, he denied it entirely. And now, despite everything, he's suing me -- during a government shutdown, when federal workers are struggling just to get by. So much for supporting the very people this firm claims to stand behind. I've never felt so dismissed or unsupported in my life. I cannot in good conscience recommend this law firm to anyone, especially to other federal employees who deserve real advocacy, not added hardship.
