He replaced the starter in my 2003 Toyota Tundra V8 4x4 quickly with very little notice and did a great job with a fair price. He was trustworthy and showed me the old parts and explained what broke. My truck broke down in town at 4:30pm and I called around the parts stores, looking for recommendations for an affordable shade tree mechanic able to work after 5:00. Alfonso had dropped off his business card and came highly recommended. He and his son drove to my location and gave me a quick estimate. I called AAA for a tow to their shop and my truck was fixed a few hours later. I added Alfonso's business to Yelp so others could experience the great services he provides.

I had previously had the hydro boost on my Chevrolet Silverado replaced by this shop a few months…read moreago. After a short period, I began hearing a whining noise at the pump. When I had the fluid checked it was discovered that they used ATF fluid in the pump rather than the correct fluid as per the manufacturer. I had to have the fluid replaced to correct the whining noise. If I left this go, it would have ruined the pump in a short period of time and I would have had even more costly repairs due to this issue. I find it very difficult to believe that it was a mistake, being they are highly trained mechanics that work there. I was very disgusted and alarmed that this occurred. Hence, always, always check and be sure of who is working on your vehicles and that they do the job right. Not make things worse or to possibly make more money on you down the road, knowing you'll be back!!!

The staff at High Plains went above and beyond normal service standards. The mechanics quickly diagnosed the problem and because it was an overnight repair we had to stay over for one night and the wonderful office staff gave us a ride to the hotel themselves after the cab company was taking too long. Marty really saved us, he stopped by before we even saw his sign, knew exactly what the problem was, fetched some parts, and gave us a roadside fix in less than 30 minutes. I have no idea how long we might have been sitting on the side of the road otherwise. All this, and he didn't even charge us!
