I had a good time here on a Wednesday evening. I enjoyed playing the slot machines even though I'm not a gambler. I played and won about $100 dollars then changed machines only to lose it. Spent about $110 dollars for a little bit of fun. We didn't eat there even though there was restaurant service and plenty to drink if you wanted to drink. They have self serve fountain drinks and coffee available throughout the casino. I would come again just for the fun of it but I do caution you there's a lot of smoking going on and you will smell like a walking cigarette. I will be returning soon.

Bottom of my white socks after being in the room 2 hours.

Carpet in room was beyond filthy. Wear white socks in the room and you'll see what I mean. The bottoms of your socks will be black. They don't clean the rooms during your stay anymore. You have to ask.

This casino will be one of your first casinos that you will run into (approximately 35 minutes from the Texas border). It has a race track where you can view the horses and make your bets. The parking lot is ample and does not share itself with any other business. Don't expect to find any card or dice tables here, strictly video machines are here for your gambling pleasure. Friday and Saturday evenings are usually a good time to visit especially if you are looking for a buffet that has stone crab legs. they are served cold unfortunately and the price is around $28 per person. This casino is a little small compared to t he larger ones in Lake Charles but you will find a few more restaurants, a bar with a live band at night times and a gift shop.

We are at Delta Downs casino and racetrack in Vinton Louisiana and the room is beautiful not very packed today but there's more people than we imagine we have a really awesome room with a great view too bad the horses are racing at this current time the room is very very nice the check-in process was really easy and now we're getting ready to head down and do a little gambling and I'll have more pictures later as far as the dinner and the buffet once we get ready to eat if you're ever in Vinton Louisiana check out Delta Downs Casino and racetrack. The Buffet area was huge and very well put together. The variety of items to choose from was unbelievable. Theres something for everyone. Everything we had was just delicious. From steak to salads you won't be disappointed. The desert menu was also amazing and so much to chose from. The drive was definitely worth it. Definitely a great place

The winning comes and goes but isn't that every casino? Lol They do bring in a variety of games but I wouldn't go as far as saying they are "keepin' up with the Jones's". There are a lot of new, up to date, games that I wish they would bring in but they seem to be one step behind on that front. I have noticed that Delta Downs takes the lead on two fronts. 1- There are plenty of servers on the casino floor which is rare for a casino. They comes around frequently and usually are pretty quick at bringing back drinks. 2- They have a variety of activities such as casino, concerts, giveaways, slot tournaments, and horse racing. If you want to see and/or bet on the horse races, I suggest you go to eat at The Lookout or The Buffet (You can stay a bit longer at The Buffet and will be able to have a tv on your table if you sit on the "porch" area.

Hotel: clean-ish, enough room and bed comfortable. Unfortunately that's as good as it gets. There was hair on the bathroom floor, the safe (that's supposed to be, well... safe) was mostly pulled off the wall and my room door (and some others on the 5th floor I was on) have a weird gap at the bottom - a big gap, an unsafe feeling gap. I had to stuff a towel in it to at least thwart any big bugs, or weirdos with a camera from invading my space. Also, if you want fitted sheets or an actual blanket/comforter, that's not happening here. Tv channels are a bust too. --- Casino: a good selection of slots only, small but decent ventilation. If you like a feeling of winning... that's not happening here --- Buffet: Easter buffet. the nastiest dining I've had in a while. Food temperatures all off, unappealing looking, dried up, tasteless... just eww! If this is the big Easter Day hurrah Id hate to see a regular schmegular day --- Most important is the employees genuinely appear to hate their jobs. The valet guy was nice, the bconnected customer service lady and the waitress in the buffet were friendly- other than them, no smiles or hellos - anyone I interacted with gave the impression they were being bothered by being there. I spent a lot of money there in entertainment sake (mindless slot play)but won't return

You have to drive between these two to find the hotel. The hotel is very clean, fenced around, beautifully landscaped, and well maintained. The staff are great. The hallways have a wild casino themed carpet and there is the casino a few feet away from the lobby through a breezeway, but you don't have to go there if you don't want to. My room smelled a bit strong of "air freshener" when I arrived, but other than that was spotless, very comfortable, and pleasantly decorated. It was equipped with a mini-fridge, microwave, big screen TV, a very comfortable bed, big bathroom with rain shower, nice towels. There was a pool that looked nice. Ice machine was at the end of the second floor, and there was a washing machine and dryer available. Like I said, there are various eateries right outside with a variety of food: Subway, Hunt Brothers Pizza, fried chicken, and more, a sports bar, and the casino. The hotel lobby is nice and the morning personnel are friendly. The check in clerk was more businesslike, but he was efficient. They require a refundable deposit for any damages. No smoking. I did not eat breakfast there but it looked very good, more than the usual. They had a hot breakfast with eggs, sausage, and a lot more. I'd definitely stay there again, and would be comfortable taking my family.

The room and lobby was clean. No issues with cleanliness at all. We encountered a few staff members and every one of them were very nice and as helpful as you'd want. Breakfast was waffles, scrambled eggs, sausage, potatoes with bell peppers and onions on the side, biscuits and gravy. They yogurt was in a machine which was weird. Cereals weren't really kid friendly. There were a few pieces of fruit and a small assortment of breads/pastries. Overall not bad. The pool area didn't look very appealing, I could see what looked like leaves in the bottom. But we didn't get in it since we were just passing through. The theme is casino which was different and cute. Had good parking and easy access to rooms.

However, I got the feeling that the staff were not well organized/managed, but the cleaning staff were very helpful in helping me locate an iPad that I thought I had lost. On the upside, it looks like this hotel has had a major renovation very recently. It's the standard hotel template with very basic furniture, but everything is new and clean as the cleaning staff clearly do a good job. The beds are very comfortable and the linens were spotless and of good quality. (There is a one star review here, but I suspect that was from before the hotel was renovated as I can't imagine there being mold on anything here.) On the downside, there is no elevator, so avoid the second floor unless you're traveling light. Also, the DirectTV was down and had been down long enough for the signs the management posted about it looked like they had been up a while. Finally, and most frustrating, when I checked in I was encouraged to go to the continental breakfast in the morning by the woman at the front desk. However, when I went downstairs the following morning, there was no breakfast at all because the lounge had been rented out! All of the staff obviously should've known that it had been booked in advance so that's just more bad management. Seeing that I wrote this in June 2024, if the hotel is managed the way it appears to be managed, I doubt it will look nice for very long as upkeep doesn't appear to be a priority.

The positives: The rooms are always clean. The staff is always friendly. (I've read other reviews complaining of the rudeness of the front desk staff, but I've never experienced anything but professionalism.). The Casino Credit staff is amazing and always so friendly and accommodating. Same with the Casino Hosts; always very nice and professional. There are several good restaurants to choose from and, although they're touristy joints, the food is always good and the waiters are always first-rate. The negatives: Only half of the elevators were working at any one time and those that were working were in bad shape and dirty. And the swimming pool bar staff around the pool absolutely sucks...and they always have. Always. I've never been to that particular bar where the staff was anywhere near professional. Also, they were out of several premium liquor options and none of the frozen drink machines were working. Additionally, when entering the pool area, I asked for an extra towel. I was told that it's "policy" that each person is allowed only one pool towel. I let the attendant know that showed sh*tty service, especially for someone that was spending about $10k in their hotel and casino over two days. Not sure that I'll go back to the Golden Nugget now that the Horseshoe is opened up.

The bed was nice and soft, pillows fluffy, and the bathroom was spacious. The gym was a typical hotel gym. There was an elliptical, bike, treadmill, and a bench with weights. I only used the treadmill, which seemed a bit old but did its job just fine. Downstairs you will find a Dunkin and pizza place. The Dunkin was perfect for a quick breakfast. The egg bites came out piping hot and were delicious. The latte was standard. The customer service was great. The pizza place is meh. Thick crust, thick layer if cheese, not many toppings. I would skip this next time. The casino itself was quiet but it was a lot of fun. I found a blackjack table and the dealer was super nice and taught me the rules. I had a great time.
