This hotel is far in a way the nicest hotel in Ashland, and one of the best in the Tri-State area. It has a wonderful location, yet still has free parking, and has great views over the Ohio and the city. The lobby and common areas, despite being repaired from a water leak, were all clean and inviting, and the onsite restaurant was quite good. As for the room, it's really nice on the surface. A spacious entry way, closet, and bathroom, a super open room, and a very comfy and clean king bed. The room also featured plenty of outlets, USBs, a fridge, coffee supplies, and nice HVAC. Returning to the bathroom, it had a super fancy sink and storage area, a large shower, and a fancy toilet. So, why isn't this a five star review? I noticed a lot of peeling wallpaper, a good bit of dust build up on the bathroom floor, a slightly dirty shower door, and some hair in the shower. Despite these issues, I still enjoyed my time here and would absolutely recommend the property. I had a training in Ashland Kentucky this week and needed a place to stay. So my agency booked the Delta. They gave me a form that had all the necessary authorizations and information. I checked in Sunday night and gave the clerk the documentation. All I was given was my key cards. Halfway through my stay someone from the front desk called my room asking for my debt card number to have on file for Incidental coverage. I told them that my agency covers this in the form but the lady insisted I had to leave my card as well. I thought this was suspicious but complied anyways. Today, I wake up and find that I'm missing over $600 dollars from my bank with two charges from Delta (preauthorizations). They charged my card for the 5 day stay and incidental. The frustrating part is that they didn't seem to take any responsibility aside from reversing the charges. The 2 documents I gave them had incidental checked on it so if the person had been doing their job and read the document this wouldn't have occurred. But they didn't. Now, this being a Friday I'm stuck in limbo for probably 6 days or longer waiting on $600 dollars to be returned to me that never should have been taken. Apparently their "system" will just do what it wants within 3-4 business days. 1) They didn't read the document. 2) They charged my card instead of my agency's card. When I expressed frustration the lady I spoke to today said a note should have been made on there about incidental but I'm not sure if she was saying they should have or trying to shift blame to my agency. read more

Check in was fast and friendly. The room was clean but the beds and pillows aren't as comfortable as other hotels. We don't usually stay at Marriott properties so maybe this is their typical setup. Gym was nicely equipped. The only thing missing were kettlebells but they did have a few strength machines that you don't see in many hotel gyms like a leg press and leg extension. They also have chilled towels for post workout which is nice! The gym does not seem to be on a regular cleaning schedule because there was trash in the floor and dumbbells laying around not racked. We didn't visit the onsite bars and restaurants but they seemed nice and the "Guitar Bar" has events including live music most days of the week. Pleasantly surprising stay at this hotel in Ashland, I have a job-site in the middle of no where and this was the closest Marriott for me to stay at. Check in was easy, my key was ready because I checked in online. My room was clean, up to date and wifi was solid. They are walking distance to many restaurants and other things to do DT Ashland. The entrance is brightly lit and welcoming. Parking was a chore, they definitely need to do something about that, I drove around and around both nights. Price was low for the hotel, there is a small kiosk for coffee and snacks, a pantry with food and basic supplies and what looked like a 2nd floor restaurant, which I did not try but then menu was in the room and seemed extensive. I will stay here again when I visit this project site. read more

Nothing wrong with this stay! Had occasion to stay here a few days and it was a great experience! The rooms were clean, comfy and stylish. The common space was nice and the restaurant food was extremely good. My husband had their steak two nights in a row! Visited this location for a work event, and was very pleased with not only the cleanliness of the facility, the dining and entertainment options within the hotel, but also the staff. Everyone was very pleasant, helpful, and courteous. The fitness facility was a little above average for a normal hotel, which I thoroughly enjoyed. There isn't a lot to do in the surrounding area, but as far as hotels go, I would definitely stay here again. read more

I booked this location because it was in close proximity to some family and some family cemeteries. I was taking my Cousin on a trip since she had never been to see her Grandparents graves and the graves of some of her Aunts and Uncles. I found out she has never stayed in a hotel in her 54 years on this earth. I wanted to make it special. Delta is suppose to be a premier hotel in the Marriott family. I tried calling the hotel the day I booked our room to see about getting a room on the highest floor, and to ask if there was anything they could do to make her stay special. So i figured maybe phone line issues with construction near by. At the hotel I asked for feather free pillows and got 2 ( there were 4 feather pillows on each bed )they said there weren't any more available in the hotel. She didn't want anything else after that and they did comp my meal. We went to McDonalds for her breakfast. We had to end up staying an extra night due to my new car having an issue. There was a Chevy Dealer a few blocks from the hotel and they were able to work on my car and put in a new chip of some kind the next day. SO YEAH! to Don Hall GM. I went to the workout room every morning. The first morning there were some small waters in a fridge. Next two mornings no waters. I sent a message to the front desk on the BonVoy app about towels. Eventually had to go to the front desk and they had to hunt down some clean towels for us. Thursday rooms on our floor were being cleaned. They propped open half dozen or more doors with the used linens and trash and left it that way for at least 5 hours. When we checked out on Friday morning I expressed my disappointment in the hotel. The wallpaper was coming off wall in bathroom, loose light fixture in the bathroom, handle to the shower was about to fall off. I said I was disappointed the didn't offer grab and go snacks for breakfast. I was told, by the employee 10am Friday June 11th,that since they had a full service restaurant they didn't do any free breakfast. I said I've stayed at lots of Marriott properties with restaurants that still offered a piece of fruit of bottle of water or something and she wanted to argue with me. If I could give this place 0 stars I would. These dumb retards told me that I'd have 2 queen beds, showed up after a 2 and a half hour drive and turned out they told me I'd have 1 queen bed. This doesn't factor in it was going to be $404 a night or that there was no couch or anything in the room. The staff was not empathetic and turns out they did this to many other customers. DO NOT STAY HERE. the blankets were molded and the ceiling has mold on it, we talked to the general manager and the house keeping manager and they lied and said it was feathers, but the blanket says 100% cotton and we was thinking maybe its just the outside, but we could pull apart the cotton on the inside... they told us we can leave right then and there since we had a problem with the blankets, and they was VERY disrespectful and unprofessional. the general manager was the most disrespectful out of everyone, we was straight up, honest, and respectful. even if it was feathers they said their not supposed to wash and dry them, so they wash them and let them "air dry" and all of the blankets are covered in mildew. read more

I stayed at the Delta (as the locals like to call it) while I was in Ashland for work. It's located in the middle of Ashland Kentucky downtown so it's convenient. The hotel rooms was nice. And clean. Due to Covid the rooms were not serviced but that was okay with me. It was never loud where I was woken up to people in the hallway or cars in the street. There is a Starbucks just off the lobby! Just what I needed each morning. The Winchester was the hotels restaurant. I ate there twice...very good. Meals were excellent. Great service. There is also a bourbon bar where you can go outside or inside. There is a decent sized gym - enough to not have to wait. I worked a lot so I didn't take full advantage of the hotel but what I did see or use I enjoyed very much. Very nice stay. I would stay again. This was the time I had ever stayed in a Delta and I must say it was very nice. The hotel itself is in the heart of downtown Ashland and is surrounded by your typical nice and friendly small town restaurants, bars and shops plus there is also a very nice "old time" theater turned arts center up the street. I was on the top floor on the river side and I had a great view of the bridge and river. The staff was super friendly and rooms were very clean. The rooms have complimentary bottles of water, Keurig coffee machines with coffee and tea included, big televisions, security boxes that allow you to set your own security code, very comfortable beds and pillows and the bathrooms have huge showers. They have a Starbucks and a nice full service restaurant inside the hotel that offers room service at specified times. There is also a small bar area. They offer valet parking but if you do not want to pay for it there is also plenty of free-parking on the streets that surround the hotel. The only problem I had at this hotel was that one of the elevators wasn't working several times during my stay and I got stuck inside of it once but not for very long. This is the old Ashland Plaza hotel which has been renovated as a Marriott property. We had stayed at the Ashland Plaza many years before. It is a great location convenient to downtown Ashland. We stay for at least one night a year and this is the first time we have been here since the renovation. I must say bravo, a massive improvement. The hospitality has always been good but now the hotel is top notch. Hotel was very clean, the bedding and linens very comfortable and I wish I could have the shower at my house with my water pressure. Checkout time is 11. Only negative is that it was a hassle making the reservation, waited on hold for what seemed like forever. All in all, highly recommend! read more

Stayed here for a weekend to attend a wedding at the little Tennessee event farm. Overall my stay was "okay". I checked in originally using the Marriott app so I could get a mobile key. For some reason, once I arrived the mobile app no longer worked so I had to wait in line to check in and get an actual key. The wait was short and I got up to my room easily. Overall the room was as expected and seemed clean. The main issues that I had were that the room only came with one towel, so additional towels had to be asked for from the first desk. They also didn't clean the room between nights, which meant I had to ask for new towels downstairs. My other issue was the parking. Apparently the bar is the most happening place in town, which means if you arrive back to the hotel after 8/9 there are literally NO parking spots available and people even make their own spots, limiting the ability to drive through the lot. read more

Needed a room 5/26 quickly after picking my mom ran late (dialysis patient). I live in Middletown, OH. Night staff found me a handicap accessible room. The room was wonderful, comfortable, and very clean. I would like to personally thank the morning staff before I checked out 5/27. They were very helpful, reassuring, and went above and beyond! I truly APPRECIATED this! I had run into a situation with my mom that had me very panicked. I don't know what they make, but, it isn't enough. Lol. My only "negative" comment is, when a room is handicap accessible, grip bars near the toilet and in the shower would be beyond helpful. My mom's mobility is so limited that that would have been very very helpful. Other than that, really enjoyed the room. read more

It's a clean hotel, but not good for family, I think. Not even breakfast offered! It would be better to go nearby hotels offering breakfast. And very tiny! This is not even NEW YORK, but like a hotel in New York, so tiny and no microwave and no regular coffee maker and refrigerator is so tiny, can't even put anything in it and bathroom door is supposed to be sliding, but not even sliding well. My husband had a long term work assignment in Ashland and was able to stay at this hotel for several weeks on and off right from when it opened. I went to visit him for a few days, and we both have nothing but positive things to say about the hotel, staff and restaurant! Everyone was incredibly friendly and helpful from the valet, front desk, housekeeping staff. The rooms are large, beds are comfy, and bathrooms clean. They have a lounge room on the 9th floor for certain Marriot members that is filled with fresh coffee, pastries, and snacks. The gym on the first floor has new and well functioning exercise equipment. The guitar bar downstairs has a great selection of drinks and an outdoor area with fire pits and lounge chairs. Will post a separate review for the restaurant. Would definitely recommend this hotel if you are in the area! read more
