We have stayed here both times in Charlottetown and wouldn't consider staying anywhere else. Location is the best as it's right at the water on Queen St. Anything you want or need is right there!! The good sized rooms are very comfortable, clean and have great views. Our room the last stay was on the seventh floor over looking the bay and it was great for watching the Canada Day fireworks blasting from Victoria Park!! The reception desk staff really take care of you, they made great suggestions and booked reservations for us and steered us in the right direction for all our needs and desires. We had breakfast both mornings at the hotel restaurant and it was excellent. I'm a simple kind of breakfast eater with the standard bacon or sausage and eggs and I have to say it was the best I tell you!! Eggs over easy perfect!! Fresh bread used for toast and came out warm with just the right amount of butter! The potato's were sooo tasty I hardly had any ketchup with them. But the show stoppers were the sausages, it's been a long time since Ive had such good tasting sausages that's why I had the exact same meal both mornings of our stay. Our server was great and super friendly also, made you feel right at home. There's and really nice pool area with a hot tube and saunas. The only thing that's not great is the saunas are in the changing rooms so my wife and I can't go in together. We're bonvoy members and have stayed at many Marriot hotels and this is definitely one of our favourites. Highly recommend!

Probably the best service I've ever had. We've all shown up too early to check in at our hotel. And it is customary for hotels to take your bags and store them until you do actually check in. But.... At the Delta, in downtown Charlottetown, the service was awesome even before I stepped into the hotel. Friendly door staff took care of parking my car (I wasn't going to need it for a couple of days) and taking care of my luggage. Just as friendly, desk staff assured me that the car and luggage would be well taken care of. Okay, that's probably standard at most large hotels, at least in warm and welcoming Maritime provinces. I left for a few hours of sightseeing and more and when I got back...not only was my room ready, but my bags were waiting for me, ready to unpack. And within a couple of minutes, so was a welcome little amuse bouche. The room itself was perfect - a view of the harbour just a block or two away, boutique hotel linens, big comfy chairs and couches, internet connections, in fact, every amenity you could think of. It was a glorious stay and I highly recommend it.

Stayed here for four nights and also conducted business meetings in their conference area. I've stayed at many Deltas across Canada and have found the chain tired weathered and seen some better days. However this Delta was a pleasant surprise. Maybe the recent acquisition by Marriott has helped but this Delta is near the top of the list that Id declare. Firstly the rooms are fresh and newer and the room I had had a wonderful window nook (day bed) that you could relax, read a book and sit in the sun. Overall the rooms are above average comfortable. The meeting facilities are a plenty. It's a big facility and you need to walk what seems quite far to the meeting rooms but they have a fantastic view of the water. Food during our stay was excellent. Everyday it was creative, fresh and plentiful. Also it was delicious. The main lobby area has a fantastic lounge are that turns into a watering hole bar to mingle around on the evening. A great quality of a hotel is many nooks and crannies to sit and relax around. This Delta has lots of chill spots. We came down here and watched the Thursday night football and grabbed a few frosty pints to wet the whistle. Good times. Overall an excellent stay and appreciated the service and quality for holding business meetings. Some of the other Deltas are like staying at your uncle's old tired house but this place rocks!

Once we were settled we inquired about dining options and he marked them on a map of the area. In the morning the manager, Rod, was able to help us narrow down some places we could visit during our stay in Charlottetown and on our last morning he suggested a route for us to take getting to Cape Breton. He even told us to call the hotel if we had any issues in finding our way there. Our room was located on the top floor, same side as the front of the hotel. It was a decently sized room with a desk, tv, armchair and closet. The bathroom was a decent size but the shower stall was quite small and the water took a long time to warm up. Our on last morning we let the manager know that we enjoyed our stay but that the mattress was way too soft for our liking and he let us know that he's heard the same comment from other guests and that the mattress is actually new. In our section of the hotel there were a few rooms with a (small) common kitchen, dining table and a sitting area. Within the whole hotel there were a few common sitting areas both indoor and outdoors. By the front entrance there were coffee and ice machines along with filtered water. Breakfast was served in two dining rooms. There was all the makings of a continental breakfast (toast, juice, coffee, tea, yogurt, cereal) and servers would come by periodically to take orders from their menu and remove plates. There was a selection of six items to choose from and most came with locally grown potatoes (omelette, scrambled eggs or tofu, eggs benedict, oatmeal, waffles). Portions aren't big but if it's not enough then it's easy to grab some toast or yogurt to go along with it.

Some of the staff is a little novice, but their can-do-attitude more than makes up for their lack of experience. Rooms were very clean and spacious. I loved the deep bathtubs for a soak. Continental breakfast was nice, though eating in the common-room was a little challenging. Coffee available 24 hours a day was great, fresh cookies in the afternoon/evening is a nice touch. The hotel is located directly across from the Basilica, a half-block from Victoria-row (for shopping and food), so very convenient, and tons of character (compared to a chain-hotel). They offer free parking, though it is limited (so park early to ensure you get a spot!). Free wifi too! If I come back to Charlottetown, I would definitely stay here again.

Room was cozy but very small. Very noisy, you hear and feel when people walk in the hallway or take shower. The temp outside was in the 80's and the window air conditioner provided barely adequate cooling. The gaps around it were sealed with tape; I'd hate to stay there when its cold outside. Difficult to set the shower temperature. Bed and linens comfortable. The grounds are pretty and well landscaped. The property sits right on the water with beautiful views. There are several common areas that offer cozy couches with coffee tables. The adjacent restaurant is not cheap but their food was delicious - my halibut was perfectly cooked with lots of finesse. Their lobster bake was rich, creamy, tasty and came with toasted pesto pita slices - it was worth the $18. Breakfast is included and was good. Cereal, bagels, yoghurt, juice, sausage and eggs toast, muffins etc. Short on fresh fruit though. Coffee was very good. Staff was friendly and service minded. The main issue we had was that the room (double with two beds) was small and cramped. I would recommend getting a suite if you are traveling with two people with luggage. We could barely find places to put our suitcases. Parking is free and the parking lot is behind the hotel but it is very cramped and when we arrived it was 100% full. If I did not have a handicap placard I would not have been able to park at all. Not sure what we would have done. Also, the parking lot has signs on every space with instructions to pay to park there. Hotel staff did not inform me of this and it was very confusing because they had told me parking was free. Other than that, no problems. They do have a restaurant which was excellent. They do not have room service but a server brought our dinner up to us one night.
