So, to be honest, I begrudgingly agreed to go with this option. I was totally wrong. This place is a great place to stay. The first thing you'll notice is that it is super clean. We were here during the plague so that was important. Not that it isn't usually important but you get my point. The second thing you'll notice is how comfortable the beds are. In the end, that's what we needed. Clean and comfortable. Oh, and the price is reasonable. It's not a 5 star hotel, but for what it is, it is definitely a 5 star motel. I can't recommend this place enough for anyone looking for clean, no frills, affordable lodging. We were so thankful to have found it.

Unbelievable! The.staff.is.AMAZING! We arrived very late at night. It was a bitter cold Iowa night…read morearound 11:30. I had phoned ahead to tell them we were going to be late. From the moment we arrived, the service was beyond hospitable. The temperature was -19. We went to the room and the heater was working so hard it was screaming! We asked for a different room because we knew we could not sleep with the noise. The night clerk immediately switched us. Although the heater in the new room was not quite as noisy, it was still pretty bad. The next morning, we asked to be moved once again. Brent said he would go into every room to find one that was quiet. He found one. The day and night were still bitterly cold, but the heater was quiet. Two days later, we wanted to have a family gathering since we had not seen all the siblings for several months. We asked for recommendations of nearby places that we could get about 25 people together for lunch and visiting. Again, the Boulders staff came to the rescue. Once the breakfast area was cleaned, they said we could use that area and the beautiful lobby area to gather our family. It was extraordinary. I cannot give the ratings they deserve! You will not stay at a better place as far as friendly people and people who are willing to do almost anything to make your stay the best.

We were pleasantly pleased and impressed! Dreamy Victorian/country decor and design. It's spacious and has a neat history! -Interesting use of closets to create bathrooms too! Lynne made us feel at home. She welcomed us at the door upon arrival, gave us a tour, we visited a little, then she gave us our privacy to enjoy. We had a loosely-planned schedule that took us to Ida Grove for wine tasting, a terrific meal, sight seeing and some hiking.  In the evening, we made a point to spend time on the porch at the B&B to sip some wine in some pleasant June weather. It was relaxing! Lynne, knowing these plans from our conversation upon arrival, was so thoughtful and left out two wine glasses along with a corkscrew to open our bottle of wine that evening. Breakfast on Sunday morning was delicious and delightful at a table next to paned windows overlooking the side yard.  We couldn't have been happier! We now have an amazing memory that we will share and tell for years to come! We think the price was very affordable! In fact, we plan to come back in the fall. We highly recommend the Inn at Battle Creek!

We decided to stop there for a night on the way back from a trip to North Dakota! Deb made the most delicious German pancake casserole for breakfast! I have spent many many days here in all seasons of the year and have always been treated with courtesy and concern and good cheer. Frankly, it has to be a major pain in the butt to do this right but honestly i have never witnessed, in all the times i have stayed here, a bit of bitchiness or eyebrow raising on either Duane's or Kristy's face. I think those of us from big cities do not expect to be treated nicely unless there is a veneer of anger below but not here. Duane and Kristy are real, down home nice people with nary a bad thing to say about anyone. Each room is carefully curated with pieces of furniture and decoration from the mostly early 1900's. Everything is always clean and fresh. The Morning breakfast perfectly prepared. I remember the first time i drove into town (my 3rd visit to Denison having somehow survived a couple of stays at a terrible motel just outside of town) during a very cold, snowy evening in December. I got lost of course initially then i came upon the Providence Inn: brightly light and decorated for Christmas.Remembering back i actually landed on the doorstep of a neighboring B&B, 3 huge bags in hand probably looking like a stranger in a strange land (which i was). The proprietor looked at me as if i were crazed and directed me around the corner to the Providence. And thank God he did not have any space at his Inn because his referring me brought me to the Providence where i received same. The Providence Inn: I was Home. Or at least from first sight, i felt i was Home. The surroundings certainy felt homey and warm and inviting. I was greeted, after trudging up to the front door by smiling, shiny faces who helped me with my bags and offered me everything from Egg Nog to Hot Tea asking me several times if i were cold with that thin coat and did i need a blanket to warm up. I have spent summer days on the porch (i mean who has a porch in Glendale?), drinking wine and chatting with neighbors who pass walking their dogs. And remember these people do not know me from Adam yet they are just doing what people should do: converse with you, ask to your health. Be Mensches. I love it here. You will too. Just leave your pretensions in Los Angeles, kick off your shoes, take a seat on the porch, open a bottle of something and enjoy Life as it should be lived.

I've been to Sac City Municipal Airport on two occasions. Both were with my husband's family…read morebecause my father-in-law has a pilot's license and rents planes from here to fly. The airport has one hangar which houses two planes. There is usually no one here and it is your leisure to pull out the plane, get it ready to go, etc. My mother in law typically just writes a check and leaves it inside the lounge area for the owner to pick up whenever it is he happens to stop by later. Of course, you do have to make a reservation on the plane you'd like to take out that day. For what it is - a teeny airport, one runway and two Cessna's sitting in a hangar, the airport is what it is. The great thing is - you don't wait, you can do whatever it is you need to do in your own time. It's really fun to ride in a plane that is not a major airline carrier. I suggest everyone get the chance to take a *real* airplane ride someday in their life.
