It's a solid 4! We didn't have a reservation at prime time dinnertime but were seated right away. The dining room has sturdy booths surrounding the space, with (4 top) tables on the interior. It got very busy and bustling as the evening progressed, with all tables occupied. Quite the place to be, and it seems there is an elderly following! Complementary bread is provided. An extensive drink and cocktail list is too. As I don't usually see a pistachio martini offered on a drink menu, I had to try this! It was smooth and refreshing, but quite heavy, as the heavy cream in it made it feel like a dessert cocktail. The flaming saganaki cheese appetizer is always a hit, and each entree comes with a hearty bowl of lemon soup, which we ended up taking home some of the serving. Most recently, I've had the scallops entree here, and it comes with a plentiful serving, along with roasted squash and zucchini and rice. Kids' menu has offerings like butter noodles and a mini moussaka, which is a great value. Our waiter was very busy but also attentive. Recommend for sure!

Fantastic place! We'll definitely come back. We came at lunch time and it was very busy so it took some time to get our food, but it was well worth it. Authentic Greek food, everything was super yummy: appetizers, main courses and dessert -everything!

I went to Demetri's Greek Restaurant to celebrate my birthday with my husband and some friends. This Greek restaurant is pretty popular on a Saturday night. After unsuccessfully trying to get reservations online, we were able to get in at 6:00 but by the time I left it was completely full. Our evening started off by unwrapping my napkin and finding a dirty knife. This was not a great start to the evening. We ordered the grilled calamari as an appetizer. This was excellent, better than the fried calamari. I got the calamari salad for my entree. The calamari was once again excellent and all of the vegetables on my salad were fresh. Our meal was great and I recommend Demetri's Greek Restaurant.

** Delicious Food ** ** Great Old School Greek Service ** ** Can't Go Wrong ** Demetri's is a consistently solid Greek restaurant. You can not go wrong here. Everything is as it should be and delicious. They are very attentive their guests, and if you are looking for that old school Chicago waiter experience, they have it. I love being able to just say, "What do you recommend?" and it's perfect. Go to Dimitri's.

While I've been to Scrambled, the restaurant in the same building as Demetri's, this was my first visit to Demetri's Greek Restaurant but it won't be my last. To be honest, I had quite forgotten about this restaurant, but we had a very good dinner tonight so I will remember it next time. We didn't have a reservation but we were seated right away. The dining room is spacious, I saw several large parties in private rooms, and nicely decorated with the traditional blue and white colors. We had complimentary bread, and we ordered the obligatory saganaki, which is always fun. I ordered the gyros plate and added Greek fries. It came with a side salad, white was fresh and crisp and I loved that the pieces were chopped small. My gyros came practically exploding off the plate. The gyro meat was cut thick and was juicy and tasty. The fries were so crisp and delicious and generously sprinkled with feta. I don't eat a lot of gyros but this was a dish that I would order again. My friend had egg lemon soup and skirt steak, accompanied by potatoes and veggies. The skirt steak was nicely seasoned and cooked. We finished with baklava, which was a little different than I'm used to, stuffed with nuts and redolent of cinnamon, not too sweet. While I prefer a more flaky phyllo version, this was a nice finish to the meal. Our service was great, our food was delicious Greek favorites, and we had a very nice meal.

Well this was my first time coming here and it was Good Greek resturant. I was invited to my sister from another for her birthday that day. I used to work here and it was a Chi Chi's Mexican restaurant I think. Our server George was funny yet amiable. They had fresh fried sardines which was unusual, because most sardines are sold in a can. It was yummy delicious. Ambience was very romantic. The lentil soup was good fresh and delicious. The Domadres was also delicious but small portions for wrapped cooked grape leaves with ground lamb meat inside. The fried egg plant was out of this world tasty and I usually hate egg plant to eat especially if you boil eggplant. The Moussaka which is like a Lasagna is mouth watering delicious too. You get a good amount but this is a place that if it's a special occasion would be the best to go for a Greek restaurant otherwise recommend it the only thing is why four out of five stories is because they didn't give us butter for bread when we requested. My other friend ordered a fresh catch fish and I loved my Lamb Rack. My friend's mother ordered the Athenian chicken and was yummy too. She could not finished it so I made it a leftover lunch with it the next day for lunch at work. Very Bougie but I did not pay for it.

First time here and glad we went. Met out-of-town family who used to live in the area who really liked the food here. Nice looking restaurant that shares space with two other restaurants. Liked the bar area when you come in, not a bad place to go for a drink and a meal if dining alone. We says indoors but maybe should have sat outside, looks nice out there! Ordered the skordalia for appetiser and then had the dinner salad with the simple Greek dressing. Salad was cut up a bit too fine, making it hard to eat with a fork. Had the Mediterranean chicken breast with rice and spinach, and it was a good portion size, not huge but fine. Service was also good. Next time will order a glass of dry red wine. Would have paired well with the chicken. Overall it was very good, look forward to going back again.

We went here as a group and I would say it was just so so. It was a bit over priced for Greek food. I didn't think our waiter was that friendly and seemed to get annoyed with everything we asked for. They do take on 3% surcharge for a credit card and if you want separate checks make sure you ask for that right away. Once we got the bill and asked for it- they said no - that it was too late- so there we were figuring everything out ourselves. We had a mixture of fish, chicken and lamb. It's pretty plain so not sure I would come back but easy to get a reservation for a large group.

Cheerful and friendly staff greet you as soon as you enter. The food is pretty good. Everything we've ordered has always come out tasting fresh. Came in on a cold winter evening in the middle of the week, and they had a double sided fireplace roaring that warmed the restaurant and removed the chill in the air. Very cozy.

We drive past Grill House all the time, it has been in Northbrook for a long time (I just found out…read morethat it's been here for 9 years), however, this was the first time that we ever visited, and I am happy that we finally did! My husband and I wanted a quick and good dinner one Sunday recently, and we picked Grill House after I read some good reviews on Yelp.  Although it's a casual, fast-food-style restaurant, the menu is surprisingly extensive, with a wide variety of healthy Greek dishes. It was definitely helpful to look over their menu online before we visited, because the menu board inside could be a bit overwhelming.  I guess I still looked quite confused when I saw 2 kiosks in front of the ordering counter.  A staff behind the counter offered to help, and I just ordered directly with him.  Later of the evening I discovered that he's the friendly owner Gus. After placing our order at the counter, we were given a table number, and our food was delivered promptly.  I ordered a Chicken Souvlaki Plate ($17.50 at the time, it's now listed online for $18), while my husband ordered a Filet Mignon Souvlaki Plate ($25.50).  Each souvlaki plate included a soup or salad, rice and potato (1 piece), a side of veggies, and pita bread in a paper bag.  It was a generous amount of food! We both chose the lentil soup, which was served piping hot in a nice ceramic bowl with a lid. It was flavorful and comforting. My chicken souvlaki was tender and juicy, never dry, and both the rice and potato were delicious. We were both impressed with the quality and value of the meal. I ordered a lemonade, which is considered a fountain drink ($4.00) and comes with free refills, though I couldn't even finish my first glass. My husband would have ordered a glass of wine if we hadn't had plans afterward, so we were happy to see that Grill House also serves beer and wine for a future visit. The service was another highlight. Everyone was warm and welcoming; a special shout-out to Kevin, who was very attentive and checked in on us several times.  When I was taking photos around the restaurant, the owner Gus greeted me again, which was a nice personal touch. The restaurant itself was bright, clean, and inviting. There's also a pleasant patio for those who prefer to dine outdoors. We will definitely be back to try more dishes from their extensive menu.  I am glad that we finally gave Grill House a try!

One of my teens and young adult ordered the Italian beef, said it was kinda dry and you had to pay extra for the toppings. I had the grilled chicken and house salad, no complaints. The chicken breast was flavorful and juicy!! My other teen had the fried chicken sandwich and my husband had the fish, they said it was pretty good. The restaurant was really nice! Very colorful decor! Didn't have much interaction with the staff because we ordered at a kiosk but the young lady announcing the order numbers for pick-up made up cute little rhymes based on the number. For dessert, the young adult tried the lemon cake milkshake, he loved it and was impressed that they incorporated the cake chunks! One of my teens and I shared the strawberry shortcake, it was tasty but had more whipped topping than cake. We'd definitely go back and try other things on our next visit to Chicago.

We ordered chips and guacamole for an appetizer, and appreciated that we could customize it (no peppers). Our server also asked if we would like some warm bread, which we immediately said yes! The chips and guac tasted great, which I was happy about because in the past, it was not always that way. The bread was perfect - crusty on the outside, and soft & warm on the inside. The seasoned olive oil that came with it was a nice touch, too. For my meal, I got a bowl of their Dakota smashed pea and barley soup. The temperature was just right, and the soup tasted flavorful, not overly salty like many soups. The only reason I gave this place 4/5 stars is because they used to have a vegan roasted veggie salad with plant-based chicken, and they no longer carry it. More vegan options here would be nice!
