I have mixed feelings. First pregnancy and I decided to come here. The first doctor I saw was Omaira Colon. She doesn't do hospital births any more so I only saw her once and then they switched me. Her attitude was "I've done this a million times" and she went over everything quickly and in little detail. I get that it's YOUR millionth time but it's my first. They switched me to Maude Vance after that. She has little personal skills if any. She walks into your room already talking about baby names and whatnot without even a "Hi." She says all the information so fast and direct it just goes right over me and I can't remember anything when the appointment is over. She seems very knowledgeable but I get the vibe of I'm here to get paid and get out. She asked the same two questions every time and if you don't have one question she offers up no advice and she's on her way out the door. Cool, again it's my first time I don't know what I don't know! She suggested I get the RSV vaccine but I wasnt the correct month range at the rsvp season time. She said no need for a birth plan. Whenever she measures me I'm either too big or too small and then she schedules another ultrasound. Not saying how big or small I am and why it's necessary. Actually delivery time, did multiple interventions which I didn't want and she literally said "it's my job to cut the cord" when somebody asked if anyone wanted to do it. The reason why they are getting three stars is the scheduling. They give you one time to come in and you either say yes or no. The main front desk lady is kind of mean, the one with the flashy loud keyboard. I saw numerous new ladies who were always in training at the front desk across my 9 month visit. For people who don't have a job, it's fine come in whenever. I have to take time off of work to come in. They do open from 8-5 so I'm able to come at 8, but only days where Vance comes in early, otherwise she starts her day at 9am. Another inconvenience. I always have to fight with them, no I'm not going to come twice in one day because you can't get me an ultrasound and see the doctor back to back. Then the doctor thinks I need an ultrasound every other week and that tacks on a while another hour and scheduling mess to figure out. The NP and ultra sound techs have all been very nice and efficient. I usually don't have to wait too long in the lobby or in the exam room. Also they draw blood and do testing here too which is very convienent. I did have to go to a third party to get genetic testing done. Their check in process is a little bit long and tedious online. I've only had to pay my $90 co pay for when I have an ultrasound visit scheduled. Otherwise just a regular doctor checkup it doesn't ask me to pay the copay on the check in process. When I had my very first visit, they had us see the financial lady after we were done with the appointment. Since I had goven All the insurance info when I scheduled before she had all the estimated costs written out for vaginal and c section birth, as well as the ultrasounds. She then charged us $500 for the first ultrasound and said the next one that we would have would be around $700. A little while later as I was looking at my insurance online it said that my insurance had payed Denali OBGYN for the amount of the ultrasounds and that I needed to ask for a refund. They claimed that they charge everyone for the first one even though they already ran my insurance. So they provided me with a copy of my statements so far and that I have a $500 credit on my account. They said at the end they will refund me if I still have a balance with them. I haven't had to pay anything since then except my $90 copay. I had to ask them about this process and where that money went, they didn't provide any of that info voluntarily, like "hey just so you know you have a credit on your account since your insurance paid us as well as you payed." It might just be how they have to do things or how the insurance side works but it was kind of annoying. I would see Kilby if I had to come here again. I saw him twice while mine was on vacation and he was awesome. That's all I can think of for now but I wasn't thrilled with this place. Good luck if you are on a search. read more

My first appt here was with Sarah Schultz and her MA Crystal. I was touched by how gentle, thoughtful, and informative they both were, especially because I was really nervous. Sarah did a really great job at talking through everything with me and making me feel like I was in charge. When I had to come back for a procedure, I was r/s with Dr. Omaira Colon. I had a completely different experience with her. I wasn't told they would be taking a biopsy or urine sample until I showed up, so I was totally unprepared for either (I would've taken painkillers in advance for the first). They handed me the consent form for the biopsy without even telling me what it was for, and I had to specifically ask to talk to Dr. Colon beforehand. When I was talking through the procedure with Dr. Colon, she seemed annoyed and unempathetic about my hesitations. She offered me aspirin for the pain and expected that to take care of everything (when I knew aspirin 5 minutes before a procedure wasn't going to help me). During the procedure, I had no idea what she was doing next at any point, and I was experiencing a lot of cramping and pain. I felt extra tense and scared because she kept moving forward in the procedure without telling me what she was doing, which probably made it a lot more painful that it needed to be because I couldn't relax. Throughout the procedure, I was wringing my hands in pain and she never once paused to ask if I was okay. If she ever verbalized what she was doing, it was never to ask for my permission and it was typically as she was already halfway into doing it. At the end of the procedure, as I was still in the middle of really painful cramping, she goes, "Wasn't as bad as you thought, right?" I guess she was right- it was worse. Overall, it felt like a completely violating experience. I already had a lot of anxiety over going to the ob-gyn (which I think is pretty common) and now that is going to be increased 10 fold. read more

Dr. Rhene Merkouris did a surgery on me for an endometrioma. While she did remove the cyst well, she said that she removed my endo in other places, which she did not and she was firstly: not technically or experienced enough to do so and 2) the amount of endo I had would have taken 3x longer than she took by a top excisional expert. So I suffered for many years due to her ego. All she had to say was I was unable to get it all, I recommend an expert in this, and my parents would have moved mountains. But this was all new for us as it came on suddenly so what were we to know. Just stay away from podunk Alaskan surgeons for many thinks but especially endometriosis. You have to go to a top excisionist for this of which theres about 15 in the world. read more

Ok ladies, we all dread going to these appointments right?!? It's tough enough as it is so finding a place that makes us feel comfortable is imperative. I headed in for my annual well woman check and saw a nurse practitioner (sorry I think her name was Angelina). She was awesome. Addressed all of my questions and concerns. Was speedy but thorough. Before you knew if it was over. Returned this morning to go blood work to make sure everything systematically was good. The lady doing my blood work was amazing too. Quick and painless. Super sweet. The office is clean and updated. I had less than a 15 minute wait for my appointment which is almost unheard of these days. The staff was all super nice. If you have to do it, and we do, this is a great choice. read more

I went in to see Dr Kilby as a brand new patient in 2024. I experiencing bleeding nonstop for six months. He did a vaginal ultrasound which came back in conclusive. He diagnosed me as having very thick both of my he knew that I had congenital defects as well as . I was 53 years old. His answer was put me on birth control pills to control my bleeding or take a pill that would release the lining of the uterus or speak to my husband, and we could possibly get me approved for a hysterectomy. I bleed. I asked him specifically if it could be cancer. I asked him specifically if I could live with the fibroids that he had found in both my uterus. He assured me that it could not possibly be cancer. I continued to bleed out for the next four months I went back to see him. He still did not do the hysterectomy that I was begging him to do. He said my iron was way too low now to do surgery so he put me on birth.. I continued to bleed out for the next four months I went see still did not do the hysterectomy that I was begging him to do. He said my iron was way too low now to do surgery so he put me on Prenatal pills and told me to take lots of iron and drink mango juice a diet high in iron. I went to the ER the next day as I was continuing to constantly bleed. My hemoglobin was extremely low in the ER on August 27, 202 on-call doctor that evening in the ER decided that they would not take out my uterus still. Instead, they gave me another Vaginal ultrasound which again came back . They transfused me with 2 pints of blood and sent me home. I bleed out all weekend knew the severity of my blood loss which was giant masses of clotting strings and bright red without any relief the extreme amount of pain that I was . I finally went back into the ER the following Monday. came into the ER room jokingly said I guess you're get your wish and get your hysterectomy. My hemoglobin was at five. I was not in the mood for his jokes he put me in surgery that afternoon. He was able to do a super cervical only. He took out the uterus took out my set of ovaries, but was unable to capture and take out the double cervix three days later he came into the hospital room as I was recovering with a solemn face and said well, it is cancer and it has spread to your . He informed me he was going to get a doctor immediately as fast as he could because I needed another surgery. Hope from Alaska women's cancer came that afternoon to chart me out. The next morning on August 31 I was in the second surgery with Dr. Hope and the laparoscopy robots. Thank God she was able to come in and save my life because Dr Kilby did nothing for me for months. The came back in his office all undetermined undetermined. My question is why did this had never seen me before didn't know any of my history. As well as my congenital defect of two uterus, two and one kidney. My blood loss for over a year did not seem to concern him and he never followed back up with me after I was released from the hospital. I feel that test should've been done on me to determine what the thick linings of my uterus were instead of giving me a pill to release the lining. I feel that a biopsy should've been done. He also told me I could live with the giant fibroids in each one of my uterus, even though his sonogram report all came back undetermined. I want this held accountable. My cancer turned into stage two and the lack of care that I received in the hospital from him was atrocious. Due to the fact of my I should never have been on liquid Advil, which is what he was giving me in the hospital as part of my pain regimen. He also prescribed me laxatives that I cannot take having one kidney. He released me from the hospital after only two days of my second surgery. I did not appreciate his jokes. I did not appreciate any of his bedside manner and I definitely didn't appreciate him. Kicking me out of the hospital at 8 PM at night Aware of where I was going to receive any of my pain medicine, especially since I was still taking IV medicine up until earlier that afternoon. I want this to know that I have made a report against him and I have also made a report to medical licensing board as well. I think Dr Kilby days of being able to help women and especially women that have congenital defects he did not customize my healthcare at all and to laugh and joke all while I am bleeding nonstop. It was very disheartening to have treated like nothing was sent me home to think about whether to be on to regulate my I'm a 53-year-old woman who was still ovulating, and that was the reason he gave me that it could not possibly be cancer. How could he determine that when my were undetermined and the thick both of my uterus in my opinion I do not understand why was not done on me like a biopsy of my uterus liniimg read more

I don't think I've ever liked a OBGYN office this much until I visited Denali OBGYN. After extensive research I decided to go with Angelia Trujillo who is a WHNP. It was a good match for me! When I called the office, they offered to schedule my appointment with a male provider and I told them I was not 100% comfortable- no questions were asked, they were able to book my appointment with Angelia. The wait was a bit long but worth it. Their office is really clean and their exam room is so cozy! I'd like to point that the span of my visits started before the spread of COVID-19 and during the spread, their office has always been clean and it amped up with more access to sanitizers. At first I always thought that my dental office has the best view of mountains- well they now have a competition! Denali OBGYN is on third floor which gives you an unobstructed view of popular peaks: Flattop, Big/Little O'Malley, Wolverine Peak, and infamous powerline trail! So beautiful. Angelia is very knowledgeable and I felt like I could ask her really specific questions. Our communication isn't perfect but she always made sure to accommodate. The examination was always through and I felt very secure, central of my medical needs. Most of their nursing staff are friendly and professional. But the real MVP? Their in-house phlebotomist! She was so sweet even though she totally jabbed me. She has her own office which provides for more privacy and it comes with the best view. I've attached a picture of that! Also, I had to get a procedure but they were able to accommodate me with an interest-free payment plan. I recommend Denali Ob/Gyn! read more

What an incredible experience at Denali OBGYN. Their office is clean and sleek and the entire staff was kind and helpful! An ease to become a new patient, checking in, the whole nine yards! My family doctor recommended I see them and I'm so glad I did!! Special shout out to Sandy Mahoney, FNP... she is exactly who I needed in my healthcare circle! She is gentle, friendly and definitely makes me feel like I'm the only one that matters while together. I never felt rushed, all of my questions and/or concerns were answered. The care and the doctor are excellent! The problem I have had is with prescription renewal. One year, it took over a month to renew a prescription due to repeated errors by the staff member. I was out of the prescription for a while and had to deal with discomfort as a result. Instead of being anxious to rectify the error, one person I spoke to just kept repeating that she, personally, did not fail to communicate with the prescriber and blamed another staff member. I chalked that up to an exception. Again, this year, I ran into difficulty and delays renewing a prescription that ran out before I was due for an annual check-up. Somehow, this was my fault, and a rude staff member chastised me for running out of the prescription they had renewed for less than a year and insisted I change the date of my annual check-up to earlier. Again, I am fine with the doctor, but I have to debate if I want to pay money to be subject to repeated mistakes by staff members and then be scolded for contacting them repeatedly about their errors. Clearly, professionalism and a desire to offer patients the best service possible is not a priority of the staff member with whom I have interacted. read more

Let's face it every woman dreads that annual visit to the OBGYN but I cannot recommend Dr Vance and Denali clinic enough. Dr Vance hands down best Dr I've seen, she actually listens to legit concerns and doesn't just say 'it's your age etc etc' and is pro active in getting you seen for follow ups as soon as they can. For a Dr to finally listen and not shrug me off brought tears to my eyes. Reception team also are wonderful, kind and pro active to get things to work for you scheduling wise. read more

Gratitude goes to Denali Clinic and Dr. Natalia Korneeva! I am beyond happy that I made a decision to transfer to Denali OBGYN from Anchorage Women's Clinic. Being 15 weeks pregnant (this is my first pregnancy) I was looking for a genuinely caring and professional provider who I could see throughout my pregnancy and who would be there for me during the delivery. I can't be more grateful to find Dr. Natalia Korneeva, who took excellent care of me during my first visit, spend about an hour counseling (!), went over screening results received from the old clinic, interpreted data, and answered all questions that me and my husband had. This is so important to find a provider who you can trust and feel comfortable with during such a special time. I am very satisfied and looking forward to my next visit. Thank you! read more

I had good experiences until the last visit. My previous very good providers both left. The new provider was disappointing, ordered over $1k in services (none of which insurance covered), said they made a referral for me to another provider (they did not), and made it difficult to get a prescription filled. In general, the providers I saw were condescending, difficult, irresponsible with my $, provided no follow-up, and as a result, I will not be back after being a patient for 11+ years. My wife has been a patient of the Denali OB-GYN Clinic for a number of years. The care has been acceptable. Her appointment are usually with one of the ANP's who have been very present an professional. Last week she made a first time appointment for our daughter who has never been to a gynecologist. Although this was her first visit it was made with one of the ANP's rather than a doctor. I would have preferred a first appointment with a physician. I drove my daughter to the appointment and arrived 10 minutes late due to traffic conditions. My wife left work early to meet us at the clinic. We were given forms to complete while we waited. After five minutes a nurse came out and informed us that since we were late they could not see my daughter and would need to reschedule for another day. When I asked how long of an appointment was scheduled, I was told one hour. So I asked if we could have a 50 minute appointment. I was told no, and we should have arrived 15 minutes early to complete the paperwork so we would have been on time for the appointment. They were rude and abrupt with me. When my wife arrived she approached the nurse and asked if they could please make an exception. She explained that my daughter needed to see someone and that she left work early in order to be at the appointment. They refused. My wife then explained that she has been a patient for many years and that she has waited well beyond her scheduled appointment time on a number of occasions up to 30 and 40 minutes until seen by a provider. She asked why they could not have some consideration and see my daughter. Again they refused and said that if she had to wait on occasion it was due to the doctor being with a patient. My wife became infuriated with their attitude and vowed never to return to the clinic. They did not care and asked her to leave. I would not recommend DENALI OB-GYN CLINIC. Their ads stress "compassion", don't believe it. read more

I won't be back. They obviously spend all their money on sleek, trendy office space and have none left to pay for competent staff. My provider was too busy chatting me up and telling me how great her 10-20 years older husband was to remember to write out my prescription, which was the main reason I went in. I had to interrupt my work day and go round and round with the front office staff to get the prescription called in to my pharmacy because the provider was "too busy" to return my call. When I went to pick it up, both the dosage and quantity were incorrect and there were no refills. When I called Denali OBGYN to get a refill, I got an answering machine that said to leave a detailed message, which I did, and asked that the provider review my records so that the refill would be the correct quantity and dosage. I got a voice mail back from the front desk moron asking "what drug I was looking to refill?" Seriously???? Inattentive providers and incompetent office staff. I'm sure I can get that anywhere, and at a lower price. read more

I moved to Alaska in 2009. I was 6 months pregnant and googled up this clinic. I met Dr. Lindemann and been going to him since for all my pregnancies. He is an excellent doctor. He listens to all my concerns. I love the receptionist staff. However, I never really got to know their names. They are awesome! Even the nurses that assist Dr. Lindemann are great. They respect me and didn't make me feel awkward that they are a medical staff. I felt comfortable around them. I felt they were human. They always recognize me whenever I go in, even if I haven't seen them in months. One of the receptionist has been there for a very long time but I can't recall her name. She is a very wonderful lady. Shes a bit older, her kids are around my age. She is a red head. I love the fact that every time I go in or check out she strikes a conversation with me. It's not like she is just talking to me because she has to. She is talking to me because she is really interested in what i have to say. The waiting room is very roomy. The wait time is an average of about 15 mins to 30 mins. I especially love that almost everything the doctor needs done, is done in the office. Ultrasounds, blood work, etc. Dr. Lindemann would allow me to get ultrasounds whenever i requested if the ultrasound room isn't being used. Sadly, I have moved to California and now have to find a new clinic. I highly recommend this place. I have referred 2 of my friends here. They both loved this place as much as i do too. read more

I was referred in my 16th week from Elmendorf base hospital (THANK GOD!!!), which was done solely in group consults, with five minutes of private time afterwards. That was NOT what I wanted at all. My OB-Gyn here was Dr. Adams (we called him "Lurch". He's huge.), and he was absolutely fantastic. Very sweet, informative, not pushy at all, and very open to our opinions and requests. We had everything done at this clinic for the rest of the pregnancy, and the postnatal visit as well. The secretaries knew our names, we had the same nurse every time, who knew our names, the decor is nice, and they have a nice smelling bathroom by the exam rooms, which were warm, cozy, and had cute pictures in them. The best part? We actually got to have Dr. Adams deliver! There was nothing about "I'm going on vacation" or "you might not get me if I'm not on call" crap. I wish we were giving birth in Anchorage again, so I could have Dr. Adams again! read more

You have to admit that anytime you need to see an OB or GYN is not anyone's idea of a good time. So if you must go, make it professional, thorough, accurate and the best experience you could have. I highly recommend Denali Ob-Gyn and Dr. Natalia Saprykina. Dr. Saprykina took time to listen to my concerns, conducted the necessary tests to accurately diagnose my condition, and performed my needed surgery. The clinic is well run by a team of professionals. I highly recommend Denali Ob-Gyn and hope you too have a great experience!! read more

If I could rate less than one star, I would. The front desk staff is absolutely horrendous. Sally is the worst out of them all. She is rude, condescending, and unprofessional. She is very unwelcoming towards patients and makes you feel as if you are a bother. I have never felt more unwelcome and uncomfortable by a receptionist. When I called to schedule an appointment for an annual, she entered my phone number incorrectly and subsequently someone else received my message. So, if you would like to feel unwelcome and uncomfortable, make sure you talk to Sally. read more
