This restaurant is one of the best in Mediterranean Restaurants New York City and Brooklyn; the service is amazing, and the staff are always so sweet and accommodating. Last night we celebrated my big sister's 50th birthday with a dinner. She had Bronzino with rice and a salad. I ordered the fillet snapper, which was amazing, and it came with a salad and mashed potatoes. Mom ordered chicken kebabs, and Mom's friend ordered lamb. Everything was fantastic. If you're ever in New York City, you have to check them out they've been around forever and are truly amazing. I could literally eat here every day. Sidebar the Hummus is delicious!

I stopped by this place recently for dinner. I ordered an entree for takeout. I love Mediterranean and Turkish food. I ordered the Chicken Adana kebab with rice and salad. They let me wait inside the restaurant while my order was made. The staff were friendly and helpful. The good was delicious. It was a little pricey but still good. I wouldn't mind dining here next time to try other dishes. The ambiance is cozy and nice.

We had a truly fantastic dinner at Deniz. It was quite empty when we got there but by the time we left, it was super busy. The food was amazing. The lamb in many different iterations was mouth watering. The dips and sauces were delicious. The wine was a good choice. We hung out for a long time but we did not feel rushed. It was a lovely evening and we will return again.

Popped in for a quick snack and glass of wine. Hummus was great! Staff were on top of things and very kindly charged my dying phone. The wine wasn't the best, but it was $12 a glass so not too much damage done. Would go back and try some more dishes for sure.

Before attending a concert at the Barclays Center, I stopped in ____ randomly. It was such a great find and the food was so tasty and flavorful. We ordered the burger and chick shish as our entrees and neither disappointed. I was a little worried about portion, but they were pretty good sized. Our server was also very attentive and kept the cocktails flowing! The inside has a very cute decor style, while they also have a heated patio outside presumably for busier days. Highly recommend if you're in Brooklyn and/or going to an event down that way.

For my first time here, it was a very nice, calm atmosphere. Sergen was my bartender, very very friendly. I had three Lychee Martinis; I loved the drinks! It's a very, very nice atmosphere! I highly recommend this place!

Great spot and I'll definitely look forward to returning for dinner. I went for brunch and they have a great outdoor dining set up for those of us that are still nervous nellies about covid. It's heated and pretty sheltered from the elements but you can open the windows which is great given so many outdoor dining set ups aren't actually outdoor. For brunch, I ordered the Cilbir which is poached eggs in a garlicky yogurt sauce. I thought they were very tasty, and the bread they give you to dip into the eggs is fabulous. For dessert, I got the Kazandibi which was frankly the best part of the meal. It tasted like a very thick flan kind of. My friends said they liked it better than flan, which, to me as a Mexican, is sacrilege, but regardless, it was quite good. Service was friendly and prompt, and the decor inside is lovely.

I have been ordering from this place for years. The quality of the food is good. That was until I received a moldy orange juice that had expired two months ago. When I say moldy, I mean visibly moldy even before you open the bottle. When I called them to explain, I was told that it's not their fault because they order the juice from an outside vendor, and was "graciously" offered store credit for the $3.50 dollar orange juice. I am sorry to say that I will miss this place, but I would stay away from it due to health concerns.

Review based on the items ordered. Lentil soup was just the right consistency but lacked something in the flavor. Much better after salt and pepper. Fried tilapia was covered in mushroom sauce and was just ok. The fish was a little bland. The mashed potatoes were fantastic. The lamb chops were very, very good! Cooked to the temperature requested. Flavorful. The side rice was really great too. Couldn't figure out what they put in it, maybe coconut milk? But excellent. The side salad also fantastic. A little pricey but a great local place with good service.

My roommate always orders from this Mediterranean spot in downtown Brooklyn, so I had tried the chicken gyro, lavash bread, and baklava prior to getting a full meal from them. I found the chicken gyro to be tender, incredibly juicy and bursting with flavor. The bread was light, fluffy, and tasty. I enjoyed the baklava as well, which was delightfully sticky sweet with plenty of nuts. I decided on Mixed Grill so that I could sample a little of everything. The Mixed Grill came with lamb gyro, chicken shish kebab, beef and adana kebab, along with rice and mixed green salad. For dessert, I went for the Kunefe. Every single food item was absolutely delicious! The lamb gyro was wonderfully well seasoned with yummy spices. The chicken shish kebab was mouthwatering morsels. The beef and adana kebab were melt in your mouth succulent. All of the meat was perfectly cooked and quite flavorful. The rice was decent, and the green salad had a bit of crunchy onion and tomato in it. The vinaigrette the salad came with was pretty good. As for the dessert, I loved it even more than baklava and that's saying a lot! Kunefe consists of shredded filo pastry, soaked in sugar-based syrup, layered with cheese, with walnuts on top. The Kunefe had a satisfying amount of pull, and the cheese paired so well with the shredded filo, which had a nice crispiness to it. There was a slight savory taste, but overall, the dessert was delicately sweet. Next time, I would love to try the Salmon Scallopini, then the Lamp Chops.

Great service, relaxing atmosphere, and solid, quality food. One star off for not having compostable takeaway containers at that price point ($19 lunch special) & charging a percentage for credit card use, no matter what amount.

I enjoy that they serve their hot moroccan tea in a glass as is traditional, so you can see all the fresh mint leaves in your cup. I had tea like this multiple times a day during my trip to Morocco a few years back so sipping on this here took me back in time. I ordered a short stack of their blueberry pancakes which were very fluffy and delicious. They're not the kind of pancake with crispy edges, which are my preferred kind of pancake but I still found them satisfying. The moroccan eggs, which are two poached eggs in spicy stewed tomatoes and served with zahar pita is a delight. The pita is very fluffy and the zahatar adds such a nice fragrant spice to the bread. They used to serve this with potatoes but now those come at an additional charge but are well worth getting. The Williamsburg location also has pretty good wifi and they let me work on my laptop through my brief stay there. Kitchen was speedy too.

The restaurant itself has a modern, chic décor with a lively but moderate noise level. She was incredibly knowledgeable about the menu, answered all of our questions with confidence, and did an amazing job matching our preferences with the perfect food and drink recommendations. Her service was exceptional from beginning to end. We started with the pita and hummus, and you could immediately tell everything was made from scratch. The pita was warm and fresh, the hummus was incredibly smooth and flavorful, and you could truly see and taste the quality. For dinner, we had the burger with the house chips. Absolutely loved every dip, which were all different in its own ways that I can't even choose a favorite. The ricotta was a sweet one that gave a nice contrast from the savory spices of the other two. I liked how much chicken they added for the hummus too, so you're getting almost a whole meal. There is also an outdoor dining area, as well as a mid-sized dining room and we were seated near the window. Sawa serves Lebanese cuisine with some more modern dishes. Additionally, they have a mostly Lebanese wine list, which gave us an opportunity to try some new wines. We ordered both a red and a white for the table, and I was especially drawn to the red, as the red was served chilled, light-bodied, and very enjoyable. Nearly all of the reds and whites on the menu are from Lebanon, with just one red from Morocco, plus a couple sparkling options from Lebanon as well. We started with several dips for the table: hummus, baba ghannouj, and muhammara. The hummus was incredibly smooth, and the muhammara was especially flavorful with large pieces of walnut throughout. Everyone at the table receives fresh pita, and we ended up ordering a few more to share. We also shared the Brussels sprouts and the snap peas. The Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, but the snap peas really stood out. They were unlike anything I have tasted before, intensely mint, served with garlic mint labneh, and very delicious. For mains, we focused on lamb: two orders of the lamb ribs, two orders of the kafta, and two orders of the sfeeha. We probably over-ordered by about one entrée, but otherwise it was the right amount of food for six people. The lamb ribs were phenomenal, fall-off-the-bone tender and packed with flavor. The lamb pies were also very good and came with a delicious dipping sauce. The kafta was good, though not quite as memorable as the other lamb dishes, but still very satisfying. Service was attentive throughout the meal, and despite the number of dishes on the table, the staff handled everything smoothly. The table got a little crowded at times, but it was manageable. I would absolutely recommend Sawa, especially for anyone who enjoys trying something a little different. They do classic Lebanese dishes very well, while also offering some creative dishes that feel unique and memorable. I am already looking forward to going back.

Overall, I'd give the experience a 4/5 for the service, atmosphere, views, and overall vibe. If I were rating the food alone, though, I'd say it was good, but not quite mind-blowing. I also have a strong feeling there's probably a noticeable difference between lunch and dinner service, although I can't say for sure. We went with the prix fixe menu. The salatim, hummus, and pita are unlimited, which is a great deal. The hummus was excellent--smooth, flavorful, and easily one of my favorite parts of the meal. The pita was fresh, warm, and constantly replenished. Among the salatim, I especially enjoyed the fennel and cabbage salad and the cucumber salad. The olive-cornichon mix and the pickled vegetables were good, but didn't stand out as much. For mains, the spicy lamb kofta was very good--well-seasoned, juicy, and served with a generous portion of tahini that was way more than needed. They also bring a small bowl of buttery cilantro rice for the table, which is a thoughtful touch, although honestly the unlimited pita was more than enough. The one disappointment was the brisket dog. We ordered it expecting something special, but it was surprisingly dry. The challah bun completely overwhelmed the sausage, and the cabbage topping plus crispy fried onions didn't add any moisture. The accompanying sauce was tahini-based, so it leaned dry as well instead of balancing everything out. On the bright side, it came with incredibly crispy fries and a delicious house ketchup that tasted much better than a standard bottled ketchup. Dessert was the soft serve, which was perfectly fine but nothing particularly memorable. For drinks, the mango cocktail with chili and lime was refreshing and hard to dislike. I also tried the fig arak drink. It was good and exciting to try, but I realized I'm just not much of a star anise person, so it wasn't really my style. The standout of the night was the restaurant's namesake cocktail, something wolf. Even though it's made with arak, I barely noticed it. The rum, passion fruit, and tropical flavors came together beautifully, making it taste like something you'd happily sip on a beach. Easily my favorite thing I drank that evening. Overall, given so many great restaurants in Brooklyn I might not come back to this but will say that it would be amazing to do a big group meal here - especially with the gorgeous views. Aesthetics on point for sure :)
