Spent the day in Dennis visiting a friend and soaking up the sun on the beach. She raved about Dennis Public Market fresh-to-order sandwiches, so I had to try one. The menu was a challenge, but I opted for the Mashpee - boar's head buffalo chicken breast, pepper jack, bleu cheese, lettuce, and tomato on a white wrap. Before grabbing my sandwich, I browsed the market and spotted plenty of grab-and-go options perfect for beach days. The Mashpee was spot on, with a great meat-to-filling ratio, and I'd love to try more. read more

Easy market with all the essentials. We were able to get cheese and crackers, a waffle ball and wine from a fantastic wine selection!

Before we recently moved to Harwich DPM was our go to butcher for some of the best, good quality meats and chicken. They have packaged deals that are usually seasonal, but also weekly specials to choose from. A couple of their own specialties that we and so many people love are their stuffed pork roast and their delectable Spoon Roast. I'm going to try their Tomahawk steak this Summer on the grill! They also serve up some of the best subs and sandwiches anywhere on the Cape! After living here for 6 years I finally found my Italian deli Sub with all the right meat and fixings on a fresh sub roll. A large can feed 2-3 people! Better than Scribano's Italian sub imho! It's also a quaint little grocery store with all the essentials plus wines and beers. And the Twins are always there at the register to both greet you and thank you with their beautiful smiles and excellent service...they are both so adorable and sweet! Pricey, always a line, to go coffee was cold. Bought a tuna sandwich last week and it was dry & tasted old.

Ordered two large subs: (1) a toasted tuna melt w/pickle slices. No cheese, no pickles. And (2) toasted DPM's chicken salad w/red onions. Hardly any onions, bland chicken salad. What happened? I was pretty sure at one point they had a decent reputation for getting it right. read more

We recently stayed in Dennisport for a 5 night vacation. We frequented DPM while there. The steak tips from the butcher were of great quality and reasonably priced for the area. We purchased some ready to made meals on our last night there including a sweet chili chicken and fried rice, and a broccoli chicken bake with mashed potatoes and roasted carrots from the deli counter. I have been going to DPM for over 20 years for all my meats. The last 2 times I got steak tips they were terrible. So tough they were inedible. At $18.99 a pound I expected much better. 2nd time in a month I could not chew these tips. I also got a spoon roast that was not as tender as I usually get there. I walked out with $70 worth of other great eats, chicken salad, shrimp, BBQ ribs, scallops and small NY strip. Wow... wish there was some place like this near Hingham. None of the high teck stuff.... simply a market with the best meats, deli, sandwiches, beer & wine (Josh, my favorite), chicken pies, and so much more!! I have only bought a few things here- so this review will be solely for one of them. Their store baked cookies. I am SUPER picky- Cookies have to be really good, and unique for me to buy them. These cookies are IT! They don't taste like store baked, they taste like homemade! I probably shouldn't review them- I already tried to get more today and they were out of my favorite. I shopped at DPM for decades and the meat and poultry and deli products were the best, and the kind workers and former owner kept me safe with my food alleriges. Under the new management, I found every boneless, skinless Bell and Evans chicken breast to be full of gristle which was difficult to remove. I started buying organic ones at Roche Bros in Mashpee and they are delicious and devoid of any gristle. I also got strangely sick around the end of June after eating Boar's Head deli turkey, I was so sick for over a month and had no idea that the meat could have been cross-contaminated by listeria. DPM quickly returned to selling the brand so I stopped shopping there. I so appreciated the kind workers and former owner and miss them so much, but the quality of the Bell and Evans chicken went downhill so much, that I had to buy it elsewhere. And I paid much less for both my Thanksgiving and Christmas turkeys this year. New ownership lost my business. Byt the long standing workers there are wonderful human beings who really care about their customers. I would like to give zero stars if it were not for them. read more

What happened!? We have been faithful customers and still affectionately refer to it as Louie's. We ordered two sandwiches tonight and they were awful.....dry with very little meat and the bread was stale! The Hyannis had a tomato in it that was tasteless ***And Thicker*** than the amount of roast beef. The horseradish dressing had no bite to it whatsoever. And don't get us started about the Cape Codder. I did call and gave them the feedback. Of course they wanted to replace them but honestly, we're not looking for any freebies. We just want the quality of the food back. I know it's off-season but it shouldn't suffer because of that. If so, then reduce the prices to match the mediocre of what they're giving out. DPM as it's called is a local grocery store on Rt 6A in a Dennis. The meats, poultry, and seafood are the best in the area. In addition to the butcher they make the best lunch sandwiches...order ahead because there is always a line!! The staff is always friendly and accommodating, even providing special cuts of meat on request. It has an old Cape Cod feel which adds to the charm. I try not to go here due to past rude experiences with checkout personnel. But tonight I ran in to get a quick dinner of their home-made Chicken Pot Pie. Well, I think my jaw is now misaligned due to trying to chew these chunks of chicken. I do have to say that there was alot of chicken in it but it was TOUGH!
