Denny's is legit! I got the 4$ sausage biscuits and gravy meal and it came with and open faced biscuit (with gravy obv), 2 eggs, and hash browns! My friend got a 4$ breakfast sandwich which came with hash browns I believe, and the little ones got two kids meals. We also ordered an apple juice, sprite, and an iced cappuccino (which are always so good). THE BILL WAS ONLY 25$!!! I always forget how cheap Denny's is, and it's so dank. read more

It's Denny's and generally I like them as a two or three star place. However we went to this one on Sunday for brunch and the service and cleanliness of this location as well as the quality of the food preperatin make this location a solid four stars in our (my wife and my) views. Where else but Denny's and their "slams" breakfast combos can you get a deal like that and they were cooked with as good and tasted as great as breakfasts costing 25-50% more in this are (Fairfax City) where we live. #awesome! read more

I love Denny's. Great breakfasts, great prices. Nothing fancy, just great Grand Slam! Like other "upscale" diners, Denny's now offers "healthy" choices -- turkey bacon, wheat pancakes, oatmeal, etc. but at a reasonable prices. Service is great at this location. Decor is somewhat outdated -- not sure whether purposefully retro or just have not updated their furniture since my childhood. All good but the coffee :) read more

My adventure with Denny's started as a small child. The idea of combining breakfast cereal with canned peaches and ice cream was.....well, duh - I loved it. The breakfast cereal sundae was what I had for eons. The waitstaff just knew what I wanted. It was awesome. Everything a child who wished everybody could read their mind could want. Alas, I grew up and discovered that there was more out there. Chinese food. Middle Eastern food. French cuisine. Don't go to Denny's if you are looking for any of the three I just mentioned. Here is why you go to Denny's. 1) you are drunk and it's nearly midnight. 2) you have an interesting lifestyle and want to discuss it at length with others with you......and....since it's Denny's? They can't kick you out for being interesting. Or..... 3) you are dead tired, nothing is prepped for dinner, you have to feed kids, and it's Tuesday. That's how I became a Denny's addict. Well, that and a couple of wait staff members from Nepal. My kids learn languages the old fashioned way....by speaking to people in their language, stumbling along, learning the most useful stuff first, and being accepting and also learning to be humble when they don't get it right the first time. Pizza and spaghetti helps. Kids eat free on Tuesday. They have the usual kid offerings (pizza, hamburger, spaghetti, mac and cheese, chicken tenders) and you have to pay for the child's beverage. It's still a heck of a deal. Come regularly and ordering is a breeze because the waitstaff knows what your kid wants. Be polite and encourage your children to learn a new word or two in a new language and be prepared to have your child be their celebrity. As for adults? It's your typical American menu. You can't go wrong with the classic burger - you specify what you want so that's what you get. 6 bucks, that's a deal. I like the Southwest Turkey Sandwich with a cup of soup. Also 6 bucks. The fried seafood platter is good, as is the chicken loaded potato skillet. 8 bucks. I have not tried the chicken fried steak and eggs, since it's brand new - but I'm betting it's good - nobody fries eggs like Denny's. Also 8 bucks. The 8 buck value menu orders come with a beverage. If you like hot tea - you will be pleasantly surprised that this Denny's doesn't do the cheapie IHOP move of a cup of hot water, and a teabag. Nope. You get a real teapot, a cup, a largish platter that holds both of these AND a little pitcher of YES! Real cream. And free refills. We used to go weekly, because homeschooling is exhausting. Now, the kids are in regular school and I have time to cook again. We still go to Denny's on Tuesday though. That's where our friends are. The wonderful waitstaff, the other people dining there, and also the lovely older couple who always come on Tuesdays and tell our kids new jokes. That, and the perfect tea service? I never thought I'd be putting up a review about a Denny's but this one is definitely sub par. Whatever you do, don't order the chicken fried steak. It tasted like a breaded piece of wood. And they topped it all with about two cups of that signature white sauce which is normally creamy and smooth. Well this white stuff was piled on so thick that I had to scoop it off my plate and ask for a separate bowl for it so it wouldn't get on anything else. and all of this after I'd asked for just a little sauce. read more

I came here, forced against my will by my kids, expecting the worst, but this place isn't bad. I'm rating it against what a national chain restaurant OUGHT to be in terms of service, value, and cleanliness. Prices are high, but we wouldn't go to a Denny's or IHOP without a coupon, so it ends up being reasonable. I was impressed that our order came out correct even though we had some odd modifications to our request. They made a valiant attempt at cooking my burger medium. It wasn't, but at least it was still juicy, and I'm not a send-it-back type guy unless something is egregious. If I had to pick on anything, I say the service could have been a touch better. The waitron didn't come back until the very end of the meal. Fortunately we didn't need anything midway through. In the words of my kids, Denny's has better bacon, but IHOP has better pancakes. Truth is, they're happy with McDonalds' pancakes. We went at an off-peak time. I have no idea what this place must be like on the weekend or during a peak time. read more

I've never had an experience so horrible as I did today at Denny's. For starters, we had no waiter. Never throughout that entire so-called dinner did we have an official waiter. We waited 20 minutes for someone to come up to us and offer us drinks. We ordered our drinks and of course they were very stingy with the milk shake. We barely had enough to refill a quarter of the cup. We legitimately waited 20 minutes for someone to come to our table and ask us what we want to eat then an entire hour to get our food delivered to us. Not to mention the spaghetti was so dry that I could pick it all up with one forkful and have it all stick together. We didn't even get the cheese that comes with the spaghetti, but the wait was too horrendous to even bother asking. People who came in after us got a waiter and their food before us. They even finished eating before ours even came! Unacceptable. I'm never ever coming back here. We didn't even get offered anything for our wait. Unfortunately, I did not realize I needed to unpack the entire bag & open the sandwich at the register prior to leaving just to determine if my carry out order was properly prepared. We went there for a late dinner because most of the places were already closed. The welcoming was not impressive. We thought it may not be a good choice for dinner but we took a sit. We ordered a chicken salad, country-style steak, and T-bone steak. The server brought different stake in place of T-bone which we did not ask for. Open 24 hours. Between the hours of midnight and 4, you'll find the people who are bored, wired, winding down, or just crazy. No place in here is ideal for sitting. No matter what time or where, there is always that annoying group of people or that crappy waiter. Warning: always be nice to your server, but don't be too friendly... I've met the manager here (or who was the manager at the time)- CREEPY. The people working here are nice enough, but you have these moments where you catch someone starting at you. WEIRD. Super busy on the weekends during brunch hours. When I went, there was a line out of the door, but luckily we were not in a hurry so were able to wait. We were seated in a booth. I wasn't exactly feeling the breakfast vibe, so I asked for a non breakfast suggestion from the waiter. He wasn't able to provide one... (wait what?!) so I went with a club. Welcome to the neighborhood!!! Hubby and I will be moving soon and were in the neighborhood the other day. We decided to get a bite to eat Denny's. We ordered their stars and stripe puppies. Umm, delicious. We also got a cookies 'n creme milkshake to go with it. Delicious again. We should have stopped here, but... We both needed to order breakfast entrees. It was dinner-time, and what's more fun than breaking the rules of eating and having breakfast at night-time??? THAT'S right, NOTHING. So we both ordered our own versions of the grand-slams. I particularly love bacon, so I loaded up on it. Eggs, sunny side up, toast, mmm melts in my mouth and in my tummy. The receptionist or a manger (dresses differently from others) is so rude. We were standing in front of her for quite a long time. She simply ignored us and pretended nothing happened. Until one waiter came over and greeted us. She still focused on something else seemed more important than her customers . If she is a waiter she needs to be fired. If she is the manger, fire her right away. Since she is bad example for her employees. She overlooked the most important thing l, the customers. BTW, she did not wear her name card. read more

Came here late night for a quick bite. Greeted and sat immediately. Ordered mozzarella sticks to start. I found them to be lacking any real crunch or flavor. The I ordered the prime rib melt. Expecting thin slices of prime rib, I got fatty chunks of mystery meat. The sautéed onions and mushrooms were undercooked. Too much greasy cheese. Only slightly redeeming quality was the onion rings. This is a go to place for a fast cheep sit down meal... at the end of a Sunday not wanting to cook but get some comfort food popped in for a quick meal... my go to is always country fried steak, I took my Dad and fiancée out for that quick comfort food dinner... they both got the country fried steak and for some unknown reason I tried something else. Both steaks came out perfect, my fiancée's broccoli was cold and we asked for a replacement. My dish came out a few mins later but no silverware, I got the chorizo and chicken skillet. Looked great, but turned out to be burned.... the cook on duty was defiantly not on his game tonight. The kicker as the server came back when we were done asked if everything was OK. (Not that she came back or asked after the food was delivered.) I told her as I showed my plate that the other meals were perfect and mine was burned. She looked and all she could offer was "maybe you should have gotten your usual." As I had told her when I ordered I always got the country fried steak but was trying something new. The manager did offer an apology and took some off the bill. I will be more careful to go earlier when better help is in the kitchen in the future. This would have been 5 stars, but today's experience was quite disappointing. Normally we hit Denny's for breakfast, invariably the build-your-own Grand Slam. No one, but no one, cooks eggs better than Denny's. Today they were apparently short-handed, and we had lousy service AND truly poor food. Hash browns drowned in grease and not crispy, an egg with a mysterious brown blob in it, and cool toast. Service was slow, too, which is a problem on a weekday morning. When we could wait no longer for our check, we went to the register up front and spoke to the manager. He blathered about two people not coming to work, but he didn't say he was sorry -- or offer us any enticement to come back. We probably will, but if we have this poor an experience again, this Denny's is off our list of places to eat. read more

Love Denny's. It's Denny's! You'll always find great diner fare and good execution of classics and some creative dishes, too. Negatives -- hate the location on a busy intersection, making it difficult to enter coming from east Rt. 50 or going south on 123. Also, I am bewildered why the building is buried knee wall high in a mound of large river rocks -- what is that all about? The other thing is -- we see the same 2 or 3 fanatic customers here every time at the bar. By fanatic I mean they seem to eat all three meals here every day, because we've been here at different times for different meals, and there they are. They either must be rich or government subsidized to eat out three times a day, even if it's Denny's. read more
