The pancakes are soft and wide, stacked like they've always been. Topped with balls of butter that try to melt but never quite succeeds. You get syrup in a little pitcher and you pour too much. No one minds. The coffee isn't special, but it's hot. That matters more. It comes in a thick white mug with a brown ring around the top. It tastes a little burnt. That's part of the charm. The refills come before you ask, because the waitress has been doing this long enough to know when you need more. She doesn't smile too much. She doesn't need to. She's there, like the coffee, like the place. People come here who've been coming since they were young, or since their parents brought them. Truckers, night-shift workers, couples who don't talk much anymore. They sit in booths under the lights and they don't look around like they're waiting for something better. We made a pit stop here on our way to Portland. Despite it being a weekday morning, the place was bustling. Patty, a lovely lady, assisted us that day and found us a quieter table away from the noise. She promptly served our coffee as we were in a hurry, allowing us to quickly scan the menu and place our orders. We opted for a Jr. Chocolate Chip Pancake, Loaded Veggie Omelette, Berry Vanilla Crepe Breakfast, and Strawberry Stuffed French Toast. The food arrived in about 10 minutes, and we thoroughly enjoyed our breakfast that morning. The Loaded Veggie Omelette, my usual choice at Denny's, was particularly delicious with perfectly grilled vegetables. The kids loved their pancakes and French toast. We tried the Berry Vanilla Crepe as an alternative to pancakes, which wasn't the best choice, but it served as a decent option for those not craving pancakes. The restaurant is very spacious and conveniently located near I-5, making it a great spot for a quick stop during a road trip. The service was excellent, with Patty being exceptionally attentive. The staff here was so welcoming and friendly. I came in with 2 little boys and that's always a challenge but the servers, Summer and Janet were very attentive and accommodating. We were greeted with a friendly smile and seated immediately. The kids' food came out pretty quickly and so did my meal. The manager also came over to ask us for our drink order at beginning. I ordered Uber eats. Part of my order was missing. The restaurant told me there was nothing they could do. Uber has apparently decided they no longer want to hear from customers, or issue refunds. I call it refers me back to the app and hangs up on me. In the app I go to my receipt to ask for help and it circles between 2 options neither which offers any help whatsoever. One option is to email myself another receipt. You go to the receipt and it and click on support and it sends you to the same exact menu where the ONLY option it to once again email yourself another receipt. I tried calling uber under the restaurant option and the guy refused help, contact his supervisor, or give me any other number to contact someone else at uber. At this point it is THEFT. Uber is stealing from you, and leaving you ZERO way to resolve any issues. It is theft which is a crime. Don't use uber eats unless you enjoy throwing your money into the wind. And Denny's won't help you either. All they have are I'm sorry's, and nothing we can do's. While THEY also benefited from this cooperate theft. THEY DON"T CARE EITHER! read more

She remembers our food orders, she is always pleasant and at the same time very efficient with our food and our coffee. The food has always arrived hot, fresh, and delicious. Was in town for a wedding and staying at a near-by hotel. And all I can say is Denny's never disappoints. It was this past Saturday morning around 9:30. They were pretty busy. Our server had a lot of tables and she was on top of it. I ordered a philly cheesesteak omelette with hashbrowns. My husband is trying to keep up his keto diet, so he got the build your own breakfast with the 4 choices. He got double eggs, bacon, and sausage. Our food came out in about 10 minutes and was good and hot. Even with customers leaving, she was getting more tables and she was fast and efficient. I waited tables all my life and I know a good server when I see one. She never missed a beat. The reason I didn't leave 5 stars... although my omelette was pretty good, some of the meat chunks were a bit tough. And it really didn't remind me of a philly cheese, but did have peppers, onions, and mushrooms. I used to live in Lacey and we would come to this Denny's every so often. It was always good. The waiters were very nice and took my order correctly. When my burger got brought to me it was made incorrectly which was no problem so i asked nicely to get it remade. When the "New" burger got brought out it was the same burger with the condiments just taken off. For the love of God, save yourself the trouble and do NOT eat here. I tried to warn the guy walking in as I was walking out, and he didn't listen. Watch tomorrow's news and you'll probably hear about him, something about dropping off a barstool while waiting to be helped, or a mass outbreak of food poisoning after people being served undercooked food. First off, no one seemed to know who our waitress was. The lady who seated us seemed to think it was "Destiny" as she rolled her eyes, but low and behold, she came back (with half of the drinks we ordered) and said there was a "miscommunication" and that it was actually her. We asked her again for our drinks. She came back with a few more drinks, but still not all of them, to take our order, as I fumbled to keep my kid in the highchair they provided that had a broken seatbelt. Sigh.... We asked again for our drinks. Our food finally came out.... wrong. She brought my sandwich with no sides, followed later by the hash browns which were horribly undercooked and not browned. They complemented it with a bowl of white purée with black specks, which I apparently paid 89 cents for. We had no forks. We had no napkins. Our food was a greasy mess that I surely will regret eating later. We asked for refills of our drinks. Then, she came back to let us know she was "clocking out" and was asked to bring us our bill. Fine, whatever, but $36 for THAT slop??? You have GOT to be kidding. Luckily, some old ladies who were dining there because eggs were the only thing they could likely chew heard us chat amongst ourselves and offered up a 20% coupon. That brought our total to $29 - still outrageous for the crap we had to deal with. The guy at the register was nice, but pretty much laughed when I said things were awful and offered up an apology with his big smile. I haven't eaten in a Denny's for over a decade. It's Denny's, pretty much the same as any other Denny's. Same food, same prices. It was clean, we were seated and helped right away. What made this location great was the service. Our server (I forgot her name, unfortunately) was on the ball. It was easy to get her attention if we needed something and she was so quick with our requests! Extra napkins, 10 seconds and they were on our table. This location is very hard to get to from the street, but I'm sure that's not their fault. I would, however, suggest a sign at the entrance, which is the entrance for the motel and gas station. There's no entrance right next to the building, which made it a little frustrating.
