We took our 6 badly damaged bar stools to Denny's. Even though the stool construction made reupholstery complicated, Denny and son were able to meet the challenge. I am very pleased to have chosen Denny and Son Upholstery in Omaha for my project. Denny provided welcoming hospitality in my fabric selection process. I visited multiple upholsterers and Denny's swatch room offered greater variety than any other. Denny provided counsel and guidance throughout. I'm very fussy; even in my pickiness and requests for modification, he remained pleasant and encouraging. The first project they completed was covering dining room chair seat cushions, which were delivered early. The work was first rate. While I do not do upholstery work, I am a longtime seamstress and quilter; I know fabrics, grain, nap, etc. The fabric application was arrow-straight, seams ample and the tacking secure. I confidently asked them to cover my sofa as well. The sofa fabric was tricky; the weave featured a geometric print that repeated in such a way that required a matching conundrum. Each section had after carefully identifying top and bottom. Denny and Jim's best feat was perfectly matching the geometric components woven into the fabric. I applaud this superior attention to detail that resulted in an especially nice finish. The counter stools, like the dining room chairs were perfectly straight. The irregular stripe added to this challenge. The piping was cut on the true bias. This is not required. A rough bias or even straight cut may be acceptable, but will unfavorably impact the durability. They did it right. Pick up and delivery times were spot on. Both Denny and Jim were professional and kind. Without reservation I give them five bright stars. read more

My 90-year-old dad was going to be discharged home after he broke his hip. I flew in from Pennsylvania and I only had one day to raise his recliners so he could sit comfortably and safely. I called Denny and asked if he had 2 squares of foam. He said to come by and he'd see what he could do. After I explained the situation he showed me different foam samples, then cut 2 pieces to measure while I waited. The price was fair and he solved the problem graciously when I needed a solution quick. Now my dad's home and loves how comfortable the recliners are. Thanks again! read more

Denny & Son/ Denny's Upholstery came highly recommended, so I corresponded with Jim via email to receive a quote for 3 bar stool seats and 2 dining chairs. A family member had used Denny & Son last month to recover bar stool seats at $35/seat. She voluntarily had the foam padding replaced for an additional $15/seat (total = $50/seat). Jim quoted me $60/seat (does NOT include foam padding). I thought the quote was a mistake - how could the price jump over 70% in one month?! I followed up to clarify. Jim confirmed there was no mistake and added a new cost: since I'm bringing my own fabric, he would now "increase" the price (he didn't name the new price in his response - ridiculous). My next project was quoted at $465/dining chair, astronomically higher than the next closest bid I've received. The same ambiguous "increase" applies to the dining chairs, too. Jim's tone was incredibly off putting and rude - enough to turn me away, regardless of the prices. Save yourself the misery and money: avoid Denny & Son/Denny's Upholstery! read more
