Making sure where the lot line was and to keep the deck within the prescribed distance from the lot line; making sure the number and depth of the footings were sufficient for the weight of our deck; and following the guidelines set out in the city permit. When the city inspector came for the final inspection, he was very complementary to our builder. He said, "you have a very solid deck here." Taylor performed smaller jobs for us since the deck. A woodpecker was attacking the plywood underneath our Four-season porch. Taylor did a wonderful job installing metal soffit material over the plywood. We have not heard any pecking since. He re-arranged our downspouts when we had a drainage issue.
