Appointments are really easy to get and they're flexible if you need to cancel. I like that they put Netflix on for you while you wait or are being worked on. It eases some anxiety over someone working in your mouth. I think they work with relatively new hygienists and assistants and I enjoyed the pleasant conversation between my assistant and the doctor yesterday while my teeth were being cleaned. It showed a real camaraderie between them and the excitement of the assistant with all she's learning. The doctor was a little behind but again, having something to watch kept me entertained. I scanned her CV - she trained at Columbia. Ivy League - that's impressive. Like Good Will Hunting impressive, right? Anyone's mom would agree that's a fantastic school. Well, I'll be honest between her expertise and the copious amounts of nitrous oxide, the entire procedure was a breeze. 2-3 hours of listening to Enya and this cowboy was drifting off daydreaming and doing interpretive dance in my head. Blissful. I didn't feel a thing. Yes, Dr. Roh has the hands of an angel. Would I recommend root canals? No. Absolutely not. BUT considering I dealt with constant pain and infections for 5 years, and this divine deity of dental Endodontics was able to cure me in a single sitting is miraculous. Call the Vatican. Unfortunately, my recent experience highlighted significant concerns with the clinic's scheduling practices that I believe need immediate attention. During my last dental cleaning, I was scheduled for an appointment at 4:30 PM. Since then, the clinic's operating hours have changed to 8:00 AM-5:00 PM Monday through Thursday and 8:00 AM-4:00 PM on Fridays. When I spoke with Jess at the front desk, she explained that Leah, who manages scheduling, typically contacts patients approximately one week before their appointment to confirm details. Jess informed me that because my appointment was scheduled for 4:30 PM, it would need to be rescheduled due to the updated office hours. Initially, I was told that the next available appointment after 4:00 PM was not until December. I expressed my concern that this was not a reasonable solution. Patients should not bear the burden of scheduling oversights, particularly when appointments were originally scheduled by the office. It is disappointing that there does not appear to have been proactive planning to identify and accommodate patients affected by the change in operating hours. To her credit, Jess took the time to look further and was ultimately able to find an appointment for me the following week at 4:00 PM that worked with my schedule. I greatly appreciated her willingness to help and her efforts to find a solution. However, the fact that an earlier appointment was available reinforces my concern that the scheduling process itself needs improvement. My recommendation is that Vue Dental review all appointments impacted by schedule changes and proactively contact affected patients with reasonable alternative appointment options. Patients whose appointments must be rescheduled due to internal operational changes should not be told they must wait several months for care when more suitable accommodations may be available. I value the care provided by the dental team, which is why I continue to recommend this practice. However, Vue Dental's scheduling protocols require significant improvement to ensure patients are treated fairly and inconveniences caused by administrative changes are handled appropriately. Better planning, communication, and proactive scheduling would go a long way toward maintaining the high level of service that patients have come to expect.
