He gave me an estimate of replacing the front 6 teeth for $3,000 (57,600 pesos approx.). It required 4 additional visits (2 on one trip, two on another trip 3 weeks later due to my schedule). He was gentle, kind, and speaks good English. The office is simple but clean and attractive. Dr. Miranda gave me excellent advice about the construction of the teeth and I am delighted with the results. He even hums along to the Mexican music on the radio as he works! I went to Dra. Tejeda on a local recommendation for a checkup and cleaning. She said that decay…read moreunder my decades old bridge required that the bridge be replaced. Ok. Dra. Tejeda prepard the two anchoring teeth, took impressions, and installed the new bridge. The new bridge broke as soon as Dra. Tejeda told me to bite down. She decided the preparation was flawed, reshaped the teeth, took new impressions, and installed a second new bridge without addtional charge. So far, so good. When I went to my dentist back home in San Francisco, California, he found upon examination that the two crowns of Dra Tejeda's 3-element bridge had open lingual margins and have to be re-done again. I had that done and the present bridge is fine. I think the open margins were obvious to Dra. Tejeda when she installed the second replacement but she failed to tell me about this. When I wrote for a refund, she seemed cooperative and asked for documentation of the diagnosis and replacement for her to file an insurance claim with her insurer. I sent these confirmations and Xrays, but then she stopped corresponding with me. I have hired a lawyer in Mexico to recover the MXN40,000 pesos I paid her. She is not responding to emails and we will file a complaint with the dental association and a lawsuit if necessary. Maybe I am the exception. Maybe not. Subsequently, I have had remarkably favorable experiences with a dentist in Puerto Vallarta.

I travel into his town from the U.S. and my impressions are always very positive. The office is spotless, the staff are efficient, professional and speak English. Dr. Cabrillo is very personable and has a great chairside manner. I've been seen for everything from routine dental checkups (cleanings, cavities), to crowns, root canals, extractions, and implants. He has a very caring manner, which is evident, and he wouldn't finish until he felt he had done everything possible for me, no matter how long he spent working on me. He pays attention to details and was exceptional performing all of these procedures. His prices were fair and obviously significantly much less than what I had experienced in Southern California. I never would have gotten all of my work done in So Cal as it was simply more than I could afford. I found great inexpensive flights into and out of Tijuana Airport and CBX which makes getting in and out of Mexico extremely easy and quick. His town of San Miguel De Allende is also a real gem! It's beautiful, safe and just lovely with many other sights to see if you have time. I cannot say enough great things about the care I received with Dr. Cabrillo and the Beneficient Dental Center. However, I thought he was bi-lingual and understood everything I was telling him in English. I was very wrong. Cosmetically, I knew what I wanted. And I thought he clearly understood. Not at all what the outcome was. Totally different and I was shocked. He's not cheap either. Office is new with spartan but good equipment. Cleanliness is so so. The screen at the dental station was filthy. I'm going to look for another dentist.
