This place needs more guys in the back willing to do the work. You basically have to go to the back and grab all your own tile while everyone's watching with no help. I had to grab 150 s tiles and walking with them stacks at a time thought a maze and on top of it the floors are cover in a milion big awkward broken tiles places everywhere. My home is a large single story home with a steep, highly pitched roof. Roof square footage is around 7,000 square feet. One roofer refused the job because the roof was too steep. Another thought the job was just too big to handle. 2 others provided high bids. Fortunately a neighbor referred me to Jose, Dependable's founder and CEO. Dependable provided a fair price which I accepted and they got to work within a week. A large crew of around 10 showed up everyday, including Saturday, and finished the job a day sooner than the 2 week estimate. No surprises on the cost. Everyone loves the look of the new roof, which includes a turret and 3 vaulted ceilings. The onsite manager, also named Jose, was terrific. The lead roofer, Frank, inspired his crew with his work ethic. Even when the temperature hit 90 everyone kept going. This was a team with high morale and they were very thorough and professional. Most importantly, everyone stayed safe doing this very dangerous work. We called DR out to power wash moss off of our roof and clean the gutters - they went over and above and did a fantastic job. Not only did they power wash all the moss, but they replaced cracked roof tiles and repaired a bent downspout without an extra charge. I'm a general contractor in Berkeley. Called them to estimate 320 ft.² of flat roof with no penetrations. They wanted over $12,000. No tear off. my team was going to prep the roof so all they had to do was install torch down flat roof. This is one of four estimates, and they were fully three times the amount of any other licensed roofer. they also quoted me $2000 to caulk around three upper roof penetrations. I'm not sure why they wanted to gouge me, it's a nice neighborhood and I showed up in a nice car, but I would certainly not recommend a company that makes an effort to gouge or rip off people. My old roof called it quits during the 2023 monsoons. Called Dependable Roofing. So easy to deal with. Got a bid done quickly. At a time when other roofers were gouging, I got a very reasonable estimate from Dependable. The crew showed up on time every day. They were very friendly and efficient. They cleaned up all the roofing debris at the end of every day. Without being asked, they put plywood on my driveway pavers so their truck tires didn't mark up the driveway. We received estimates from 4 companies and decided to go with Dependable based on price, responsiveness and flexibility (willing to install the roof, and then come back for the gutter and downspout installation after the house was painted). Everyone we interacted with from the office staff, to the estimator, to the foreman and his crew were professional and a pleasure to work with. The job was completed on time and they did everything they said they would do, including leaving the job site clean and tidy. Replacing a roof, gutters and downspouts is a big expense, so we really appreciated their willingness to provide is with multiple samples of the shingle and gutter/downspout colors so we could be sure we liked what we selected. We called them last year to come to check our roof to see if anything needs fix, and they said will email us the report but nothing received so far. I thought it was because of there were nothing need to be fixed so they didn't email us. Then we called again this year, they came and checked the roof, they promised will email us the quote, and 2 weeks gone still hear nothing from them, called and asked and they said they don't have the report yet, and double confirmed the email is correct in their system. SCAM - PRICE GOUGING - UNNEEDED SERVICE ADDED A client of mine who has me handle their cleaning of their gutters amongst other things at their property needed an estimate for roof repair. They called up dependable to get a quote, worker arrived (4 hours late) and did the estimate and told my client it would be in their email momentarily (didn't receive it until the next day.) On that estimate was a nearly $1,100 charge for gutter / downspout cleaning & gutter sealing. The odd thing about that charge being added onto the estimate is that I myself cleaned my clients gutters as well as sealed up cracks no less than 2 months ago. There are minimal trees near my clients house and even less directly above or around gutters. I know for a fact there is not $1,100 worth of dirty or cracked gutters on their roof which leads me and my client to believe dependable roofing will gladly tack on an extra $1,100 because they think you won't get on a ladder and see the state of your gutters / roof yourself. Considering my client is an older single lady, I find this business practice to be despicable. Always get several estimates! read more

I don't normally write reviews, unless the company is either terrible, or super great, and this company rises into the latter category. If I could give this company ( Dependable Roofing ) in Oakley, California, a 20 Star rating I would. Their salesman was the third roofing representative, ( Manuel ) of three different companies to visit, and estimate the repairs we needed to our home. Manuel asked if I would allow him access to the roof surface. I was initially only concerned with a few fascia boards framing the front areas, and I said absolutely. This professional was the only one of the three companies to do this. Manuel brought an iPad with him, and proceeded to take pictures of all the repair areas, then when he returned from our roof, showed me all of these areas, and explained to me what he was photographing, and why the repairs were needed. The office lady, Sandra, kept in contact from beginning to end, informing us of everything from the scheduling to costs, and acting as a liaison for the few questions I had about the estimate / contract. The repair staff showed up on time, and went right to work. Their work ethic could have not been better, as they all were very professional in the removal of cement roofing tiles, rotten fascia boards, roofing felt, rotten under lament plywood, and vent flashing. The replacement of all of these damaged areas went just as smoothly. Every question, or request was handled immediately, with a smile, and without resistance. The roofing felt was wrapped over the top edges, but still under the outer edges of the fascia board tiles of the newly replaced, and twice painted fascia boards. In areas where the fascia boards are exposed, the areas were topped with sheet metal to prevent any re occurrence of wet rot, and painted to match. All vent flashing was replaced with new, sealed, and twice painted. The wood around our chimney top was all removed, replaced, and painted twice as all of the wood areas were treated. During the repairs, a representative who i believe was Jose Rodriguez stopped by to inspect their work, and ask me if everything was going OK ? I was so pleased with what I had witnessed, going up on the roof myself several times during the work just to see what and how the roof was originally made of, what and how it was being repaired that " I could not be happier ". We have existing Roof solar for our pool, and electricity. Since these items can be difficult, and expensive to repair, or replace we are a little concerned when a contractor is on our roof. I can post here without reservation that Dependable Roofing did not only a professional, and timely repair, they did so skirting around these obstructions with ease. The price for all of the needed work was a bit more than I had previously expected, but the quality, and amount of repairs we received for the price paid was a real bargain, and Dependable Roofing, gave me some leeway in how, and when I could pay. We can't be happier with this company, and feel it's only right to tell others that might be thinking of having some work done on their home, that Dependable Roofing in Oakley, California live up to their name with pride in professionalism, and workmanship. I had been putting off replacing my roof for a few years but finally decided it had to be done. A friend referred me to Dependable Roofing who said they'd done a great job on their roof so I called and set up a meeting/estimate. I was very impressed with Jose; very patient and discussed the process thoroughly and answered all my questions. They sent me over an estimate with everything detailed and explained. Based off other estimates they were very comparable to the other two estimates and what made my decision easy was the list of references in my community(50 plus) as well as my friend's endorsement. Everything that was communicated up front was done and more! We had some dry rot, some additional attic fans, some painting and rodent issues - and everything was fixed and no additional charge. My neighbor, a contractor, was so impressed with craftsmanship and details with flashing and application of the roofing material, he will be hiring them next year to do his roof. And a huge shut out to Gabriel and his team! Gabriel was the supervisor and discussed everything step by step. I got up on the roof a few times to see the process and understand all the details. The roof took 7 days which was shocking because my neighbors house took 3 weeks. They cleaned up everyday and you wouldn't have known a roof was being installed. One thing for sure, it is so hard to find a dependable,trustworthy, competent company and one that doesn't gouge you or add new things to make it worthwhile for the contractor to come out for the day. I have asked for a few estimates from a few roofers and they all vary in price and what they are going to do. All we want is the fascia replaced, but we get estimates that are padded with extras. This company was on the Yelp list for projects- you request a consultation and it contacts all the rest of the contractors as well. This was the main company that at least was reliable and showed up on time so that was good. Another guy stood me up twice and I never gave that one another chance. So for the fascia itself ( mind you only about 3-4 feet water damaged at the very end since my husband fell off the ladder and took down part of that gutter). Also we know the price of the fascia pressure treated woods ranged from 33-81.00. So the estimate was 790. for the fascia replacement. They added to replace the paper since they would have the tiles off that was 1690. For a 4 foot area. 390. For gutter cleaning ( which we do ourselves and really doesn't take long) then 690. To seal gutter spouts and clean up debris there. Then 1900. For reattaching, and debris cleanup from job, etc, etc. I didn't even notice the second page with the last estimates at first and thought it was bad! It doesn't look as bad when separated but when we added it up it was 5260.!!! YIKES!!! 400% more than other bids! I laughed and said I could replace my whole roof ( or maybe nowadays just a quarter or half of my roof!)! All that for one board/fascia trim on the side to be fixed! Now those other bids don't seem as bad lol! Sheesh! We have done roof repairs ourselves as well as hired a company- so the paper itself is solid. We went up with the estimator because in the past we had one guy from another company STOMP on our roof and broke tiles! So beware and use common sense in fixing things. I am sure they are probably good at what they do with their other reviews, if you are willing to pay that much. I want to pay the fair share of a good company, but I do not want to be ripped off. read more

Several years ago I had a leak in my garage roof and had called Dependable roofing. They did a great repair job at a reasonable price, so when I had some issues with my gutters leaking this past May I had called them again. They did a full inspection of the roof and informed me there was a number of broken tiles ( from when I had solar installed) and a number of roof tiles had slid out of place causing some of the issues I was seeing. They had taken some pictures of the roof issues to show the extent of the problems and it looked pretty bad, and I was surprised as my home is just 17 years old. The gutters were badly in need of a cleaning and all corners needed resealing as when the home was built the builder used the wrong sealant and it had all dried out. I had agree to all the repairs and to do some other maintenance they claimed was needed. Dependable came and took a few days to do the repairs. I could not observe what they were doing up on the rooftop, so I trusted that they did all that was in the contract, even thought I noticed that it did not appear the workers were resealing all the corners, and it appeared they replaced far fewer roof tiles than they had said were broken in the contract. I also noticed at the end then never ran water in my gutters to test their resealing and cleaning. But I trusted they did the work I paid for. So it didn't rain for the first time until October and when it did I notice several corners were dripping and leaking. It was a mild rain too. So I called Dependable back to tell them they had to come back and seal those corners they obviously missed. It took 4 calls before they finally agreed to send some one to fix it. When the workman came I pointed out the 4 leaking corners and asked if he can inspect all the others to make sure they were ok. He said no, I'm here to fix just where you saw leaks. I was a little shocked but decided just to let him fix where I saw the leaks, which he did and left. Fast forward to November 18th - when we had the first really hard rain. I heard loud splashing in my driveway and was horrified to see a literaly waterfal pouring from the end of the gutter above my garage door. Upon inspection I saw the gutter was totally filled and water was pouring out all over and the water was coming under my garage door into my garage. I suspected the gutter downspout was blocked - so with my neighbor's help, got up on a ladder in the pouring rain and reached into the gutter at the corner - and found the gutter was full of leaves the the downspout hole completely clogged. I reached in and just grabbed handfuls of leaves and flith out of the gutter, until the drain finally opened and the water went down with a loud WHOOSSSSHHHH. In the process I cut my hand up pretty badly. So, that's my story- I will never call Dependable again and you shouldn't either. I am now concerned that all the other work they claimed to do wasn't done, so am calling another roof repair company to inspect the roof. read more

I would not recommend dependable roofing because when they came to my home to give me an estimate he said he was going to go on the roof and take pictures of what repairs I would need. When he came down he showed me some pictures and gave me an estimate that was very inflated and more materials that was necessary on there. I had somebody else fix my roof and they took pictures and when they showed them to me they were not the pictures that so-called dependable roofers showed me. We had three bids and while they were not the cheapest, they were the most responsive from estimate to construction start to completion. Lets talk about UNdependable. I called to get an inspection. They came out and had the wrong gate code. They sent me a text and I responded with the right code thinking that they went and did the inspection and report. I sent several messages asking for the report because I they guaranteed it by a certain date. They proceeded to tell me I'll talk to the inspector. I continued to call and was hung up on several times. Finally the lady that helped me at the begining answered and put me on hold to tell me the inspection was never done.
