The theme for the food, unfortunately, was excessive saltiness. The leberknödelsuppe had a decent liver dumpling with good flavor and finely ground texture, but the soup was a salt bomb. Likewise was venison goulash, which improved when mixed with cranberry relish and fluffy, housemade spaetzle. The sausage platter had four types and levels of sausage saltiness going on. Beers are beers and were fine. Although the restaurant was comfortable, the staff good, and there being some very good spaetzle, three for three food orders being overly salty is too much a pattern to try more.

It took forever to get our food which is puzzling because we didn't have anything that special. And we were the only customers at he time. I had a small arugula salad with walnut crusted Camembert. Walnut crusted translated to thick heavy breading and deep fried. That kind of deep fried that makes you think their grease needs changed. It was served with cranberry sauce and a balsamic vinaigrette. When I picked the breading off the cheese it was much better. I ate it. My husband had the burger and fries. He says it was at best an average burger. Not one time did they ask if we needed anything else to drink. As we finished, there were two other tables that had sat down. They ignored one couple for probably 15 minutes while they dried silverware. Bottom line: 1 small salad (not meal size) 1 burger and fries 1 beer 1 house white wine (served with sparkling water) The bill was €30. This is a relatively straightforward local Bravarian pub/restaurant. You have your waiters all in traditional dress and the expected cozy beer house settings. I had a chance to sample their weisswurst/white sausages, which are traditionally served before noon and always freshly made (at the right places). This place did not disappoint .. with the sausages tasting extremely fresh and pairing perfectly with that tasty traditional Bravarian sweet mustard. (Tip: You do not eat the skin of these sausages - locals typically cut the sausage in half horizontally and take the meat out that way). The beer here was also just right and adding pretzels to the mix made the whole experience feel so ... Bravarian. If you're visiting this lovely part of Germany, it's not a bad idea to stop by and sample some of their nice traditional fare.
