What a FIND! I'm one of the fussiest folks (I've been told) when it comes to food. This little gem is worth a stop and maybe even a little detour just to check out the quirky decor. This seems like it was once a super fun place! We were excited to try it out. Sadly we found it to be overpriced for what it was. The food was okay but they were out of several dishes we tried to order and it's extremely hard to accommodate any food allergies or sensitivities here. I didn't get many pics of the food because we were generally unimpressed. We opted not to return even though this was the closest restaurant to us during our 2 week visit. read more

I often make a cross country Drive on the 10 this will now be my fifth time stopping at derailed diner specifically for the maple cheesecake. By far the best slice of cheesecake I've ever had. I highly recommend stopping if you want something sweet. read more

The food has went to crap and the prices went up alot since the TA company took over. I use to eat there 2 or 3 times a week today was my last try im done. Look at the pictures i uploaded you can see the $17 patty melt i had that looked like a sausage patty instead of a hamburger patty the coffee cup had dried coffee all over it when i showed it to the waitress she said oh its not dirty i spilt coffee on it. I mean lets not wipe it off before serving it. I usualy order the chicken sandwich and cheese cake well earlier this week i did just that and the have replaced both with a cheeper product and both were horrible the chicken looked and tasted like pre breaded frozen crap. The breading was hard and almost taste burnt while the inside was greasy like the fried it while still frozen or sonething. Not im not sure how you screw up cheese cake but once again it wasnt good im not even sure how to explain it but it didnt taste like cheese cake the crust was super thick and not gram cracker i dont even know what it was but threw it away. Like i said i use to eat there 2 to 3 times a week but im done i wont be back. I get this is a truck stop but they are taking advantage of truck drivers because they dont have very many choices where they can eat so they are serving bottom of the barrel food now. I dont recommend eating anything here. Our bill for breakfast for 2 people this morning was 47 dollars not including a tip. Best bet is go somewhere else this place sucks now New Management has ruined the food quality, taste and quanity read more

I am a fan of the motif, it is definitely man cave material. That unfortunately is where all things good stops. Moving forward, find out what is preventing this place from being successful. Whether it's management and financial restrictions or if the Chef is just that bad. Please taste the food before you prepare before subject it to the public. read more

Cute diner with a good location off the highway and close to campgrounds, but it ends there.... The food was mediocre at best. The cornbread was inedible and dry, they even ruined the taste of the corn. My husband's burger didn't even cover 1/2 the bun. Lunch cost us $40 for two of us to eat. Drinks were $3.50!! Very expensive and not worth the cost. Service was very friendly and she kept our drinks filled. We were really disappointed and hoped for a better experience. read more

Well what a waste of time!!! We waited a hour and a half for trash food! While we were there, management was having I argument with their staff and had to wait to get our bill... We did get a cup of hot soup and 3 glasses of tea$16.25 Will never go their again! When I went to speak to the Oasis management, they have no control of the restaurant are that staff!! First of all, the absolute BEST fried chicken, rice, and mashed potatoes I've ever had. The service was absolutely amazing, especially our waitress, didi. She was always checking in to make sure we had everything we needed, not too often to drive you crazy, but at the perfect times! The food was served in a very short time. You definitely get what you paid for! I'm taking home lots of leftovers! By far the best little town diner I've ever been to! read more

I'm a local and I love the Monte Cristo sandwich!!! It's the only thing I will order on the menu. Don't ever remove it from the menu!!! I know several folks who go to the diner just to order the Monte Cristo. The fries aren't so great read more

Food very bland. I have had way better and can make a better Chicken fried steaks it over cook and very small for the price they had it list for corn bread was cold. The service was so so. The restaurant theme is different for sure it's like a 50-70s decor and their sitting I never seen it before. PLUS THEY CHARGE 3.89% IF YOU USE A CREDIT CARD. Businesses that charge that type of fee need to pay it themselves like they have for decades or lower their menu price a little. read more

This is an authentic roadside diner. Tons of neat memorabilia and decor. It's attached to a truck stop. Interesting seating areas that were themed. It was a fun experience. The burgers were pretty good. The milkshakes were awful though. The prices were a bit high - especially for the milkshakes. All in all it's a neat place to stop at least once if you're doing a road trip. read more

Adorable outside with the railroad crossing. Cute inside with so much to see. But, unfortunately, that's where the fun stops. The cornbread was dry and inedible. The fried chicken breast was also dry..but the gravy helped. Our service was great. Perhaps that was because no more than 5 people were in the place at any one time. But the biggest disappointment was the chocolate "shake". It was as thin as and tasted like chocolate milk. The diner is cute..but to be a good diner you need more than a cute gimmick..you need good food. Derailed Diner has a long way to go on that aspect. They've been "derailed". read more

The waitress was obviously very stressed but the entire restaurant could hear her argue with the cooks. The cooks kept getting orders wrong and my mother's hamburger came out half an hour late. I could overhear one couple who had to leave because they were served a salad with cheese when they requested no cheese (allergies). To top it all off, my stomach hurt the entire next night and I vomited aggressively in the morning (I had a pork tenderloin sandwich). My sibling also had food poisoning and stayed up an hour and a half vomiting. If you go here, I wouldn't recommend eating at the diner. The gift shop was cute though. read more

TERRIBLE service -- over the top terrible -- and food made two of my kids sick. The diner itself is cute. The hostess and busboy were both very nice. The waitress provided horrible service, the orders were messed up, one plate severely delayed (part of which was a simple side salad). Waitress yelled at cooks (we could hear her very clearly), complained to coworkers while we were waiting, and just kept messing up. All of this speaks to horrible management. read more

It looked like a cool place, and it was, but that's what made the whole experience so much more disappointing. The woman who took our order kept gossiping, and yelling at the cooks (which we could hear, and it was very unprofessional). She gave the wrong dishes to people, messed up orders, and made others wait an extremely long time for a side salad...My mother had to wait longer than the rest of my family for her food. She ordered a hamburger with pickles and a salad. The burger came out dry (with no pickles) and the woman had completely forgot about the salad, something that should probably come out first because it's pretty easy. She had to be reminded to bring it. Later that night, however, my sister woke up in the middle of the night to throw up. Because she had food poisoning. It caught my brother in the morning, and they have both been miserable. The sad part is that there were older folks eating there, as well. Food poisoning could seriously harm them. Overall, it was a 0/10 would not recommend. But the old woman who seated us and the man who took our plates were cool. read more
