I have been to pretty much every lawyer in town and in the surrounding area. I have never met in my entire life and honest, hard-working, devoted, prompt and man of faith attorney in my entire life! I was at Ray law office once in the man flipped his pockets inside out because that's what all these lawyers care about is money, money, money!! Unfortunately I heard Steven doesn't do family law any longer because I would definitely use him again over anyone else. He worked with me on the retainer fee and I didn't have to pay him my $1,500 until I received my taxes. Until then I only paid him $200 a month. He always returned my calls and emails and text messages and was always on time to court. A different lawyer I had named Dave castañero never showed up and never gave me any invoices I never had a free consultation he was always late and he made me uncomfortable by yelling and court and getting all hot and sweaty and dramatic with the judge. Steven is the opposite. Steven is a perfect example of how an attorney should be. Someone who cares about a family he is a family man not just someone that wants your money. I don't know what happened with his license in the past but you can't please everyone. I should have done this review a long time ago and I think I've done one in the past. But what goes around comes around and people that are dishonest such as lawyers or whoever or people that are trying to get innocent people in trouble you know it is all in God's hands. He took it personal that I wanted to get my time over with and instead of getting me my minimum sentance tacked on another year because he was mad I was taking my time. At this point I had been dealing with the injustice system for years in and out . My fault yes but I was on drugs and on a horrible path. I just wanted to take my time and guess what I haven't stepped foot back in a jail since then . Best decision I made . But he was horrible I got two years for a petty retail theft charge !!! We didn't realize how serious his charges were. But yet they still kept my $2000. Then, the very first time that my son meets with attorney. Kevin, he says, well, what do you want us to do? So my son explained to him about doing his time at the Winnebago County jail next court date and the day that he meets with attorney Kevin. He told my son well if I was you. I'd just plead guilty, get it done. And you don't have to worry about nothing to this day. I explained to them at the beginning of day one keep my son out of the Illinois department of corrections. They did not do this. All I feel like I got screwed out of 2000. They did not do what I asked in the beginning.So if I was you and you had a federal case, I would never hire these people.Because they just s**** y** out of your money, they could have called me and said we can't represent you.The charges are too serious, but no, they went ahead.And took my money gave me a worthless a**.Attorney doesn't even return my cause and when he's finally in the office, I have to deal with the secretary that is a very nice lady.So if anybody gets attorney, kevin, you might as well throw your money in the f****** toilet

I don't like to do negative reviews, but in this case I think it is warranted. Attorney Granger was…read morerecently the defense attorney for a friend of mine accused of a sex crime. I believe/know that my friend was innocent of the charge, but a jury voted guilty and now he is sentenced to decades in prison. I, and everyone else I know that was following this case, are of the opinion that attorney Granger did a very, very poor job of defending our friend. This was unexplainable as he appears to have a good reputation and good reviews. The prosecutor called many 'expert witnesses' to testify and he did not have one. Also, he did not display a desire or ability to thoroughly cross examine those witnesses. Perhaps he is better at some areas of law than others, or maybe he over extended himself, but I just believe something needs to be said about his performance in this case. I don't believe the defendants family received anywhere near what they paid for in attorney fees.
