Dr. Dolf Ichtertz knows his oats when it comes to hand surgery…read more We learned this the hard way when my husband injured his hand with a buzz saw last fall. We was told we had the best hand surgeon found anywhere in the nation right in the next town to us. What a relief that was. When we got to the hospital he operates in he introduced himself and made us laugh because he pronounced his name has Dr. It Hurts. Of course it was on a Saturday and the surgical teams were off and of course there were 2 other emergencies ahead of us, but Doc stood his ground and finally was able to get a surgical team and emergency room open for our needs. He did the surgery and was able to replace the tendons back to their rightful place in the fingers, that had been pulled out, and do the other necessary repairs. While I was in the waiting room a woman visited with me that was there about another patient and when she heard our story she shared with me how we had the best Dr. and what he had done for her and she had complete use of her hands because of the surgery he did for her and no scarring. He has great bed side matter and answers all of your questions. He has a great staff that was very helpful and a nurse that removed all 100 plus stitches at the time of removal. He took pictures also to put up on his website. My husband has very little scaring from his surgery. He spent all the time talking to us and answering our questions as was needed.

I had explored other options before scheduling an appointment with Dr. Dolf Ichtertz. Not only was…read morehe very knowledgeable about my specific problem, but his solution was amazingly simple. I did not have to go to a surgery center for this simple procedure to correct a trigger finger. The only drawback to Nebraska Hand & Shoulder Institute, in my opinion, is that the Doctor does not accept Medicare as a form of payment. He did, however, allow me to make payments for the procedure. I would highly recommend Dr. Ichtertz to anyone who needs hand and/or shoulder treatment. Thank you, Dr. Ichtertz!!! Jeanette Krajewski

After waiting about…read more30 minutes in the first waiting room, they called her to go into what looks like an additional waiting room, where she sat for over another hour before they took her in. In the meantime, people with appointments set later than 9:30 were called in and left before my mother was ever seen for a simple 5 minute procedure.

The most trusted eye care physician in the area. Our family has been so fortunate to be able to…read moreget in to see him, during regular appointments and emergency situations. He has an excellent reputation, and above that is the standard of his character. Does anyone else remember the time when doctors made house calls? This gentleman, although does not make house calls, is the type of doctor that we used to know. I brought my husband into see him when he had gotten a piece of metal in his eye, and we had already made a trip to the emergency room in another town, without any real resolution to my husband's dilemma from the prior emergency room visit the prior evening, I called in desperately for help as my husband was in so much pain and Dr. Proffitt was so kind and considerate to understand what my husband was going through, he told me to bring him right in. I gathered all the medications and instructions that we had been given from the previous nights emergency room visit and we promptly went in to Dr. Proffitt, he was very busy but he was able to see my husband and once into our visit he explained what was given to my husband previously, and looked into my husband's eye, then asked if anyone had looked under the eye lid, which we told him "no." This was where the piece of metal had lodged, the cornea of my husband's eye looked like a windshield that had been hit with gravel due to the irritation from the piece of metal under his eyelid. This is good information for any doctor to look over and learn from. Thank you so so much, Dr. Proffitt! You remind me of our "good old days" when we turned to our local doctor for help and he was there!
