Our initial joint session with Rita was encouraging, and the individual sessions that followed felt meaningful and productive. I truly felt that she cared about both our relationship and our personal well-being. However, circumstances changed when my husband's former partner discovered that we were seeing Rita and appeared at her office without notice. I was initially told that Rita had declined to meet with her. I later learned that Rita did in fact meet with her--on more than one occasion--despite the ongoing issues and history that were discussed in our sessions. We are now involved in a legal matter with this individual, and her court filings include information that could have only come from private sessions with Rita, including deeply personal details about my husband and me. This has caused us significant concern regarding confidentiality and professional boundaries. Our attorney has attempted to contact Rita for clarification, but we have not yet received a response. We sincerely hope she will come forward to provide accurate information so this situation can be properly addressed.

Anyhow, before obtaining coverage under the Affordable Care Act I needed counseling big time and wanted someone close to the home. She gave me a cash discount based on my income, so I can't speak to the issue another reviewer had with billing/collections, which is unfortunate. I can speak to the counseling I received, especially since I happen to be agnostic and gay but Sharilyn is a faith-based therapist. Amazingly, she helped me tremendously with many issues I was having, so don't shy away just because someone is faith-based and it isn't your cup of tea. Sharilyn is a licensed professional and as such will only offer faith if that is what the patient wants. Since that was something that I was not interested in, it was not provided, and that is how this stuff is supposed to work. I utilized her services off and on for several years and the only reason I don't see her now is it is nearly impossible to get an insurance carrier to do what is called an "assignment of coverage" once a year has passed since the provider provided services to the patient, which really sucks! Anyhow, Sharilyn is a great listener, empathetic, and very mellow, all important traits for a counselor! She was always timely with appointments and could squeeze me in at the last minute for "emergencies."

As I sat and waited there was a gentleman who became upset because he was not guaranteed to be seen. The man had showed to his appointment over 15 min late and questioned why he wouldn't be seen and even asked what patient was being seen before him. Not your business my guy. Then a second customer with ridiculous colored hair complained about her not getting a "transfer of care" and demanded why she wasn't getting a female dr. " they aren't accepting patients lady" what do you not understand. If you don't like it, pay out pocket for your insurance and you can choose whatever dr you like. I applaud the front staff for maintaining their demeanor with these difficult patients. I was at the location on 10/13/2025 at approximately 3:30-3:55pm when they had to deal with these rude patients.
