Beware of working with this guy. While his studio is very clean and he does good tattoo work, make sure you know what you are getting into with Germ. You'll give him a budget, he'll tell you he can get it done for near that budget, then try to get you for 3x what you told him you wanted to spend. He does good work but seems like he sandbags to run up the price. And when you call him out on it, he tries to say he never agreed to a budget and you agreed to his hourly rate no matter how long it ll take. I'm not sure if he's just really bad at knowing how long his work will take or if he's just a scam artist. It feels like a little of both. When I brought this up to him he said he has a recorded zoom where I agreed to his rate for multiple sessions and when I told him to prove me wrong and send it to me, he refused. Because he knows he doesn't. He has good reviews on google but his true colors are shown here. Here's what he has done on me for over $3k and over 12 hours in the chair. Guy completely scams people!! Charges you full price for a deposit (no truly good artist should charge the full price without even touching or starting your artwork!!! Deposits should be maybe $100-200) then if you need to reschedule for any important reason such as COVID!!! Or anything else, tells you that you don't get your money back, won't refund you, and will recharge you the full price all over again! LOL FUCKING JOKE OF A SCAM ARTIST. I want to start off saying German is indeed a very talented artist. However, if you are trying to do business with someone honest and has professionalism that will be tattooing something permanent on you, KEEP LOOKING! I got my first tattoo ever by German 4 years ago when he used to work at Certified Customs. He assured me that I would get free touch ups for life which is one if the driving factors of why I chose him to tattoo me. Fast forward to today. I noticed he worked at his own private studio now, so I messaged him on his Instagram inquiring about getting the touch up. Attached are the screenshots from the conversation. I do understand how he has every right to charge for his service as it is his studio, but I want to highlight the complete and utter disrespect he showed me and the lack of professionalism. So again, if you want someone with the maturity of a child to be tattooing something permanent on you, then German is your guy. Certified Customs (I believe they changed their name to Certified Tattoo Studio) has already told me they will happily do my free touch up. Dishonest as it gets. Comes off super nice and cool, but then pulls out the bullshit. Me and my fiancé each booked with German back in 2018-2019. (Late review due to not seeing him on here before). Everything seemed great and he gave us what each tattoo would cost. Quotes me 400-500 for mine. Then 1200-1400 for my fiancé and could be done in one full session. My session went okay even tho he had postpone it about 2 hours, so I missed out on some work pay. Again, not a huge deal. But then it's my fiancé's turn a few weeks later. She sat with for about 6 hours and all he got done was the outline. Super slow but whatever, so figured she would have to come back to finish it. He proceeds to say she needs to put another deposit down and schedule another appointment. And that it was gonna take about another 6 hours and pay for a whole mew session! So basically he quoted us the 1200-1400 first, then after the first session he said it was gonna be another 1200-1400?!?! Wtf dude you said 1200-1400 for it all and in one session. You barely got the outline done in 6 hours and then try to charge us basically double!!! About 3K for a piece on the the outside of her arm! Talk about some scam artist bullshit. We luckily found someone better to finish it for her, and that entire shop knew German and not a single one of them had anything good to say. DO NOT BOOK WITH THIS TATTOO ARTIST German Fernandez from Derm Tattoo in Castle Rock, CO. He will make you pay in full and then steal all of your money. I have been looking for a new tattoo artist here in CO for myself, my husband, and sister as we recently moved here from Chicago and we all have many more tattoos we'd like to start scheduling and working on. I have been looking at German's work for a while now and finally took a chance when he posted a special that he was running for this holiday season. I inquired about it and was a bit nervous when his assistant asked me to pay the entire $820 upfront, which I've never had to do before. (I usually just pay a smaller deposit). Four days before my scheduled session, I found out that I have Covid. I of course let German and his assistant know, wanting to give them as much notice as possible. They then respond with extremely rude emails stating that if we have to reschedule this appt, then I will lose out on the ENTIRE $820 that I paid. I of course can't afford to lose that amount of money so I told them that I will still plan on coming to the appt and will wear a mask the entire time (even though I don't think that's the right thing to do). They then responded "no way will German allow you to come in still with Covid" and that I have to reschedule, and again stated that I will have to pay the entire $820 again. So they are just keeping all of my money and I'm just screwed. I was raised around tattoo artists and could never imagine any of them treating a new customer, that wanted to be a long-term customer, this way. I could have understood if he wanted me to pay a $100-$200 rescheduling fee but to just keep the entire amount when they are the ones canceling the appt, is just so very wrong. Also, this was already a design he had drawn so it's not like he spent any time on me yet. I'm extremely upset and am looking into legal ramifications but this is not someone I would ever trust to work on anyone that I care about. It appears he blocked me on facebook right away, which is a huge red flag. Now reading through various reviews, it seems like he does this to people all the time. Don't be dumb like me and get screwed over. Do not pay this person in full before the work is done! Terrible business policies. I hope stealing the $820 was worth it. read more

Sure German does good work. And is equally as good of a SCAM artist as he is an actual one. I had to work an event for my job that I had not foreseen a month and a half prior to my appointment date, when needing to reschedule, his "lovely assistant" informed me that it was "no problem" you'll basically have to lose the FIFTEEN HUNDRED DOLLARS that you already spent with us, and we will GLADLY RECHARGE YOU ANOTHER 1500 ONTOP of that before we even apply ink to your skin. So I spent 1563 dollars on nothing. I would have been fine with paying a rescheduling fee...but FIFTEEN HUNDRED?!!!! I refuse to do business with this person, who would rather RIP SOMEONE OFF than provide them with a good quality and FAIR service. German I sincerely hope this review leads to you losing substantially more than the 1560 you took from me, an innocent man, that just wanted to get his first tattoo from an artist he trusted. I know your dignity and ethics are already lost. This experience was disgraceful. You bring a bad name to what it is to be an artist. Shame on you. read more
