Bristol Sk:n Clinic is upstairs at the very top of one of the buildings along Clare Street, and…read moreoffers all sorts of beauty treatments ranging from microdermabrasion to laser hair removal and new Isolaz acne therapy. If you're thinking about having any expensive skin therapies, this place comes highly recommended by a number of my friends who've had various successful treatments here, including microdermabrasion and acne treatment - and I can vouch myself for the staff being very helpful in advising on skincare products that they sell, too. If you have a specific skin condition such as acne or scarring, they offer special skincare ranges for these - and if you're considering an expensive treatment they often offer promotional packages for a series at a reduced price. These are well worth looking out for (or asking about) because some treatments such as microdermabrasion are only really effective if you have a series of sessions - and you could end up saving yourself hundreds of pounds. What I particularly like about Sk:n is that all the staff I've ever encountered there have been really friendly and helpful; they're not intimidating in any way (unlike staff in some beauty salons!) and they offer Sunday appointments (and late night opening from Monday-Thursday!), which is very handy if you're busy working most of the week.

I have been to this place for 3 times, the last being today. I had an appointment at 6pm and they…read moremade me wait for 25 MINUTES! Considering that my treatment only lasts for 15 minutes, this is an unacceptable waiting time. On top of all that, they have refused to give my student discount. OK, I know that they need to see my student card (I forgot it at home today) but this was not the first time I was going there and they knew that I was a student (even from my email address it is obvious). At the end of the day, I think I am paying a good deal of money and I deserve more respect in return. I am definitely not going there again. There are many places out there to get the same treatment!

The place is fine - but I'm not sure he is great at all that he does…read more I had a pedicure and looking at my feet the next day I noticed a cracked nail and a few remaining areas of hard skin. During the actual pedicure he didn't appear to look at the foot whilst scrubbing it - certainly not the underside / back of the foot - and when filing he used a back and forth motion, I thought you were only supposed to file in one direction to reduce risk of cracking? He was quite rough and jerky when using the clippers to cut my nails as well. He asks you to remove your shoes in the hallway - there is no bench or chair to sit on in the hallway. This was my first pedicure - and not a great experience. I was running a little late - so agreed to just the pedicure (I had booked manicure & pedicure) which only consisted of: Shape/trim of nails, filing and buffering - without paint or polish! Soak and cleanse in traditional hot water pan. Removal of hard skin with various tools. Cuticle retraction, nipping, buffering and oiling - for clear nail edges, strengthening and a healthy shine. Optional waxing to remove unsightly hair. The following things listed on the website were not offered: Choice of hand and foot scrubs to slough off dead skin and leave fresh younger skin. Hydration to nourish and soften skin with replenishing anti-oxidants and essential fatty acids. Massage with essential oils to relax and ease muscles. Option to extend to full massage.

al Covo is warm and comfortable and finished to a very high standard. The treatments offered are…read moremany and can be tailored to what you want. For example, I have a regular sports massage with hot stones and sometimes a facial massage to finish off. Highly recommended!
