This is the magazine for KNPR (Nevada's Public Radio) and though you can pick it up free at various locations across the valley, it is worth becoming a member. Public Radio is a treasure and non profit I gladly support, not to have the magazine delivered. For the terrific publication they produce and the services NPR provides (taming road rage via listening to classical music on the 15, anyone?!) Highly respected journalists contribute, and editor Andrew Kiraly produces an interesting and diverse periodical every month. Local Las Vegas is covered from every angle imaginable: politics, movers and shakers, entertainment, fine food and drink to the ever changing story that is our city. Desert Companion is a nice looking publication, without being too slick and I highly anticipate its arrival in my mail. Their year-end, "Best of" issues blows all others out of the water and honors truly great local businesess. Again, it can be found for free in coffee and juice shops around the valley, but think about becoming a member. The Tap House at Charleston and Jones. It is great place to eat and have great time. Every Monday night they have live music from 7PM to Midnight. Great selections of food and affordable drinks. well drinks run about $3.50 it is amazing place. Where in this town you can get well drink for less than four bucks??? and meal less than ten bucks??? check it out , you will love it. read more
