I started seeing Dr. Rice in May, 2017, and quickly had relief to a certain extent and as of today, November 2017 It has practically disappeared. It's 99% gone. Unlike many doctors who specialize, Dr. Rice has a broad knowledge as a chiropractor and nutritionist as well as an expert acupuncturist, and he brings that all to his game. What an amazing man. I played professional hockey and have been to a lot of Chiropractors. Dr Ken takes his time, asks questions, explores, then figures out where and what to do. I was impressed with the fact that he still does drops for the lower back. These days many Chiropractors, like to adjust the lower back by doing a twist. In my opinion, the drop with some guidance is the most effective way to get the adjustment right and Dr Ken does it! He also go my C1 first time without any issues and typically that is a problem for some Chiropractors. When you look around his studio, he has some good tools that he can use to rehab you and once you meet him, you know that he really cares. He is a good guy. Another very nice factor is that he doesn't require you to do Xray's and buy into all the add ons. I'm sure he would if it was necessary but he isn't trying to take advantage of his customers and get them to over comment at the first meeting. I came here about a year ago for an adjustment (nothing too serious, just some tightness and…read moremoderate upper back pain) when I initially moved down to the Palm Beach Gardens area. Several hours after my first (and final) visit, I truly wish I hadn't. I have always been skeptical of chiros. Chiropractors are not required to hold a medical degree, hence many are not doctors. The one I saw did not seem very experienced, especially after the intense pain and immobility I suffered shortly after my visit. When I arrived, my immediate intuition was, "Dang, this place is run down, I hope this isn't a reflection of how my appointment will go." Additionally, all the chiropractors pictured on the wall in the waiting room were no longer practicing at this location, nor were there any photos of the chiropractor I was about to see. Although the lady that adjusted me was very kind and amicable, she had a great deal of trouble 'releasing the tension' of my upper back. She had to try several different methods, and her final method partially worked (for a very short period of time before getting worse). She eventually had to grab me from behind and pick me up, essentially bobbing me up and down. When I had found a good chiro later on, he explained her method was a very generalized one. When I asked if she needed to take x-rays, she told me that wasn't necessary. Hours later, I was about a 6 out of 10 on pain. When I came in, I was a 3 out of 10, at worst. As the days went on, it became so bad I could barely get out of bed. Finally, I decided to go and give another chiro a try. This time, I really did my research on the specific chiro, and not simply the practice. As I was walking to my car to drive to the new chiro, I had to stop several times, almost falling over due to the immense amount of pain and shockwave feelings going through my back. It was one of the most unbearable pains I have experienced. Several weeks later, I reached out to the owner of the practice to explain my issue, as well as request a refund (I figured this is the very least they could do for causing more of an issue, and I wasn't about to go back and see the same chiro or office that put me in this state). I was never called back as I was told I would be, nor refunded. Long story short, I highly suggest finding another chiro. And more importantly, look at the reviews and listen to word of mouth of those with a medical degree. They generally have a much better understanding of your body and what is going on with it.
