I have been having my hair cut here for a number of years and always receive fantastic customer service. The whole team go out of their way to make you feel welcome and even when it is busy I have always felt extremely well looked after. My hairdresser Steph was as always polite, happy and attentive. Most importantly she gave me a fab cut and style. I still go to this salon after 6 years as a customer and I'm happy with the end result but as of late my stylist seems to be called upon to help out other more junior staff more and more. This means I am left sitting there while she helps out colleagues. I have also been 'handed' over to someone else for my hair to be finished off or dried etc when her next customer has arrived. I feel this is wrong as after all, I am paying more money for this more senior stylist and should benefit from her time. read more

Lovely hairdressers but beware of the cost structure depending on who actually cuts your hair. They can just allocate someone without telling you that they are the highest charging! Good service but feel that when you just need to be in and out that there's a lot of faff to get through ie when they tell you what products they're using and why! read more

I am not really one for writing reviews but on this occasion i thought it was only fair to share the truly positive and consistent experience I have every time I visit Destiny , and it's for these reasons that I keep coming back and have now done so for over 2 years. From the smiling, positive receptionist, all the way through to way you are made to feel a valued customer. Its definitely true what they say, you get what you pay for in life, although that said the prices are very reasonable . Your coat is taken on arrival, a full selection of hots drinks are available as well fresh coffee along with apple and orange juices. The hand massage is great to have whilst your hair is being cut. All the girls are very professional and it's so great to see the upbeat attitude towards work unlike other salons I have visited you don't see constant staff changes . But as Alexa cuts my hair I have to give her a special mention and would definitely recommend her personally read more

I had my hair cut here and dyed as a new customer a few weeks ago. I literally have never had such a bad experiance in a salon. After the first appointment the hair colour wasn't quite right (the hairdresser Steph stated this before I ever saw it) so at her request I was booked in for the following week at the shop but the cut I had was fine. The next weekend is where it started going badly wrong. I clearly stated the look I wanted to the new hairdresser (Aimee) and said she understood, she then set about her work and gave me one of the most god awful hair colours known to man. I told her that it wasnt right and that it was really orange but she didnt seem to care. She wouldnt even put a toner on it for me then and said if I was that unhappy I could come in again another time because she was busy. So I left the salon with half my hair bright orange/yellow and nearly in tears. I have since found out that as she used bleach and it was dyed twice in two weeks that is started breaking off and look awful. I dyed my hair myself with shop bought colour as I couldnt leave the house how it was left and then this weekend saw another (much better) hairdresser who explained that the hair was totally beyond repair. So my lovely long hair is now a bob. The manager at Destiny refunded the money I spent there and for the shop purchased dye but this in no way compensates me for two lost Saturdays, another hair cut and losing my lovey long hair. As a 58yr old mother,grandmother and for 23yrs a foster mother,I was, until 2001,when I became disabled,always frantically busy. My lifestyle was very 'outdoorsy' inc. having horses and running Scouts. Between riding and uniform hats my hair was a constant mess and once described by 'a friend' as looking like 'an unhappy ice-cream cone in a cross-wind!!' I used a sucession of cheep and cheerful hairdressers until my daughters reached their teenage years and demanded to see a decent stylist so as to fit in with their peers. Consequently we met Tracey who was at the time working in our local town and now owns Destiny in Fairford Leys;she cut and variously stled and coloured our hair for several years until one day we turned up for our appointment to find that she had left. After trying different stylists for a time my daughters made their own arrangements and I used detective work to find out where Tracey had gone. I was therefore amongst her first customers and am still using her salon to this day. Having in the past been quite intimidated by the thought of using an 'up market salon' because of my 'tom boy' lifestyle, I happily turn up in my work jeans or, having walked out of the shower, with a towel around my head, and am never made to feel anything but welcome. I have had more than my fair share of health and personal problems and use Destiny as an unpaid counselling service without ever worrying about my personal life being discussed afterwards, sometimes I have to use a wheelchair which must get in everybodies way but have never had a complaint.I often have complimentary hand and occasionally, back massages and also used the 'me time' to partake of the drink selection, often the first relaxing drink of the day. As far as the most important item,the actual hairdressing is concerned,and speaking as a very difficult person to please these days,I have had nothing but a good honest service.I have occasionally tried slightly different stles which haven't always worked but that is due to my medical condition which makes my temples sweat profusely, Tracey has tried everything that she or I can think of and she always cracks the problem. I have had no problems with colouring or anything else and, frankly, had it not been for Tracey and another member of her staff I would have turned up to my daughters wedding looking like a dog's dinner because the fresh flower arrangement for my hair, ordered from the wedding flower supplier, had been delivered in pieces and the wrong peices at that! I was, by then, having a melt down but the situation was dealt with calmly and deftly and my hair and the flowers miraculously stayed put until I took it out at 2.0am the following morning, I had a lot of compliments and I also have the 'photographs to proove it! Finally, I was supposed to be moving to Somerset this time last year and was trying to figure out how to get to Aylesbury every 6-7 weeks to get my hair cut!
