Amazing coffee, and cutest side street hideaway feeling shop. So cozy, friendly environment. Baristas were great and again the coffee was incredible. Only reason it's not five stars is because they didn't have almond milk (not their fault though because that seems impossible to find in Bergen).

Super cute cafe. It's located close to the gondola. They offer a selection of teas and coffees as well as some bakery goods. Highly recommend trying a slice of one of the cakes (or both) - they're amazingly good. Service is good - the batista let me try different teas which was super nice. Since it's a tiny cafe, seating is pretty limited but they do have some tables outside. They sell packaged tea and coffee as well.

Cute little cafe on a cobbled street of Bergen, short walk from the fish market. I usually like my coffee with some sugar in it. The macadamia cappuccino was not sweet but tasted wonderful without having to add any sugar. So creamy. The cappuccinos in Norway are generous sized in general.

Really good carrot cake, no nuts! Super sweet frosting but not super sweet cake, perfect mix

I have to start by saying that the carrot cake and oatmeal cookies were to die for. Unlike a lot of European desserts, they were nice and sweet like my American taste is used to. At the same time, they tasted super homemade and you could see the real carrots inside the cake. I wouldn't be surprised to hear that the girl behind the counter made the cake and cookies that morning. Sooooo yummy. Also, I love how many cool options of drinks they have. I had lingonberry juice for the first time there, which was delicious. However, I'm taking a star off for the fact that they didn't have about half the drinks offered on their menu. A little misleading. You were especially limited to black coffee. I actually originally didn't want the juice- I'd tried to order a hot apple cider drink, but was told they didn't have it. I then overheard her telling other customers they didn't have several of the drinks people tried to order. That being said, it's a great atmosphere with a good amount of seating. Free water too. And a great location cause it's right next to all the crazy downtown and the funicular but it's tucked away just enough to not be a tourist trap or get too insanely crowded late morning the way some of the bakeries down the hill do. My one other wish, besides being able to drink cool coffee drinks there, would be for them to open a little earlier. I wish that about a lot of bakeries here, so I know it might be cultural, but I feel like they would make a lot of money off the hungry American tourists who want breakfast before 10. And because Bergen is much more touristy than Oslo, I would think catering toward them to make more money would maybe make sense.

Good carrot cake but expensive. Over 50nkr. Free water you serve yourself. Inside and outside seating. Coffee drinks looked good and had nice presentation. Cute little place and they have wifi.

Small small cute coffee place, near the funicular. Everything you do don't sit by the window during winter time, I know those are the most hunted places but it feels colder than being outside. Now, the coffee was very good but what will stick in my memories is the special carrot cake, which I normally dislike, but here was delicious. Small cute bathroom, covered with hundreds of posters and paintings inside. Wifi pass: aeropress

The bar and window seats. That's half the inside area, basically!

Bergen's oldest coffee shop, and still a fairly good 'un! Cakes are better than coffee, and make sure you ask about coffee sizes. Combine with a trip up Fløien! I used to live right on the other side of the little street this place is in, and this is where I learned to love coffee. Naturally, I'll be a little bit biased. However, I'll keep this as on-point as I can. The place hasn't changed much since back in 2005. Still tiny and cozy with as much outside seating as inside (which doesn't say much. There are three tables inside plus window seating). In fact, the bar takes up about a third of the entire café space! It's not spacious and if you're looking to hide away, you're in the wrong place. That's not a BAD thing, it's just a thing. They do your regular assortment of coffee beverages, and though they don't have Flat Whites on the menu, they can make you one. Be aware that names for things are different in Norway than they may be where you're from, so make sure you ask them what form your drink of choice takes before you order. I got a "Flat White" (they call that a Cortado) somewhere between the size of a cap and a latte (by UK standards) but they made me the next one smaller, more like a Flat White as I know them. Now, the quality of the coffee has been up and down through the years. DLK have passed through different leadership and has been on the brink of bankruptcy more than once since 2005, and quality seems to shift with it. For a while, I didn't even bother going when I was visiting Norway. Now, the coffee is decent enough, though the microfoam is structurally not great. This is an issue that I see in a lot of Norwegian coffee shops, and I can't quite get why. The foam looks beautiful when it's completely fresh, but quickly the micro foam collapses into bubbles that look almost like soapy dishwater. It's not as bad as I've seen some places, but you can see what I mean in one of my photos. I've also long been disappointed with the taste in Norwegian cafés. When I moved in 2007, DLK was ahead of the UK in developing an interesting coffee culture, but as the "Third Wave" coffee shops have progressed in the UK, Bergen seems to have called behind. Bad foam and watery, bitter liquid seem commonplace, and DLK is no exception. They're better than before, but they could (and should!) be so much better. Im probably being harsh, but that's only because I have so much fondness for the place. Now, the CAKES! That's a different story. Their cakes were already good when I was living here, and they're still terrific. I had an apple cake around lunch time, and it was just like the traditional Norwegian apple cakes I remember from childhood. Moist and not overly sweet, it was just right. Could maybe have used a bit more cardamom and tarter apples, but I'm nitpicking. Being so central, and right next to the Funicular (take the funicular up and walk down for a coffee after, it's a great trip!), as well as just how cozy and friendly the place is, it's hard not to recommend!

My favorite coffee shop in all of Norway not just Bergen. Went here with my husband while on our honeymoon. Their mocca is short of perfect. The barista made it with precision and care and I'm pretty sure love! They also have delicious pastries. The location is small and coz.

Great service and a great iced latte. Located just beyond the giant line for the Fløibanen.

    Spot in the sun!

Management not responsive to customer concern about stale coffee beans purchased. We did enjoy our latte and cake when we were there.
