Our upper level Bus seats were faded and had seen better days. The lower level seats had cushions and were in better shape. (Would imagine because the roof is open during warmer periods). Our Driver as well another Driver were helpful and gave us some good tips. Ear buds were provided for the tour/sights information with multiple language options. A good tour that covers much ground with the option to explore further.

They provide cheapy headphones for you to listen to the pre-recorded audio track if you don't speak German (which is blaring over the loudspeakers in the bus). They have a couple other routes to try, as well, but I can't imagine that they are any better than the main city tour that I took. So here's the funny part: my wife was commenting that our driver was very aggressive, but I didn't really agree... until he rear-ended someone!! So that delayed us a bit while they worked things out...

We had a choice of three routes and chose the Red route which mainly goes though the middle of Munich. This bus tour service helps to familiarize you with essential areas and also gives you some simple history along the way. Nicely priced and you have the option of using your pass to get around if you're tired of walking. I had a good camera and sitting on the top level ( the bus had two levels) I was able to take quite a few very nice photos. That was a bonus! You're up a little higher so it worked well. Do this as a tourist to get your bearings or the city. :)

It was almost funny how terrible this situation was…read more We were en route to a family reunion in the Austrian Alps and Munich was the closest airport. The travel time was anticipated to be a little over 2 hours. We went based on recommendation from family to coordinate 4 Seasons shuttle. We sent over a screenshot of our flight itinerary per instruction and showed up to the desk the day we arrived. This is where things got crazy. Our airline had a glitch in the system and showed on our itinerary that we arrived the wrong date (we flew from US to Munich which required an additional day of travel). Obviously this was disappointing to us, but 4 Seasons was extremely accusing that we were totally to blame for this. Of course we were upset for missing this glitch, but we still needed to make our trip. They accused us of this mistake and insisted on charging us a "no-show" fee of a few hundred euro and insisted we book another ride. Now we were upset... but had no choice. But since this was a travel expense we decided we we charge it to our credit card so we could get insurance coverage for this expense. The most upsetting part of all of this is that they wouldn't let us use credit card -- if we wanted to book this, we had to book with cash only. We are talking the no show fee and the new same day rebooking fee which totaled over 300 Euros. The cash payment meant no way for us to fight this charge. But once we got over this and filed it in the "travel expense" mental category we were ready for our trip to start. But here is the funny part... the worst is yet to come. We were greeted by our chain-smoking, hungover driver. He smoked his full cigarette before we were able to depart. He didn't really know where to go, but he wisely decided to go by his gut to travel through Munich (during rush hour) to take us on our way. Breaking. Gassing it. Etc. It was at the 3rd U-turn that I tuned into the fact that he didn't know where to go. He finally pulled over at a gas station to get a coffee, go to the bathroom, and put the directions into his phone. ??? why he waited that long is beyond me. I'll fast forward the nearly 4 hours trip (that should have taken about 2) and he dropped us off 0.5 mile from our true destination. Which was a train station which he couldn't find. Totally dreadful. I can't say enough to go with another company. Totally spoiled the first day of our trip.

Two S-Bahn tracks here and two U-Bahn tracks, so it's a busy transfer point and of course the Marienplatz at the surface is a busy destination. Easy navigation with escalators, stairs and elevator between the different platform levels, the ticketing concourse and the surface. And of course, lots of entrances/exits to street level which are labeled and there's signage to help you know which is the right exit closest to the strasse you're needing. Several quick grab-and-go restaurants on the ticketing concourse. The station is served by the S1, S2, S3, S4, S6, S7 and S8 S-Bahn lines plus the U3 and U6 underground lines. The journey began at the central train station, taking the underground route to the S-Bahn, which whisked me away through the city out to the 'burbs to catch a flight out of Munich. The train had clean, comfortable seats. It was a cheap fare, especially considering how far the train goes. The train carriages were lacking any graffiti and were spotless. People were courteous and quiet throughout the journey. They had clear announcements in German, and maps available. Each station seemed safe, and well attended. The train ran on time, and was the best way to go to the airport.

Every tour guide I've had has been wonderful. These tours are affordable and a great way to learn a lot in a limited amount of time. Furthermore, they're also a great way to meet people, especially if you're traveling solo. I'd highly highly recommend these!

And lots of signs telling drunk people how to get home. There's a lot more security lately and that's a good thing. Crazy people do crazy things. U-Bahnhof Theresienwiese serves the U4 between Schwanthalerhöhe (toward Westendstraße) and the Munich Hauptbahnhof (toward Arabellapark) and U5 toward Laimer Platz and Neuperlach Süd.
