Amazing hotel in an amazing town…read more There were three of us, so the hotel didn't have a room for us in the main building, but instead had a room just around the corner in a condo in a very cool building that was "only" 700 years old (main hotel is closer to 1,000yo). This it THE BEST location in Rothenburg, probably closest to where "the action" is. Lots and lots of businesses, cafes, wine bars, etc. within a 5 or 6 minute walk. Our car disappeared, as the very welcoming staff parked it for us (I wouldn't have a clue where to park a car in this ancient city where parking is off limits on most streets, and there certainly isn't a modern parkhaus inside the city walls). So we were on our own, only two feet per person to get around town, which is all you need. Our off-property "family room" condo just a 5 minute walk away was pretty cool. Updated and modern enough, with a small mini kitchen. Came up to the main building for breakfast in the back yard....ate in the lovely back yard garden area. Very friendly and excellent service at breakfast, and a nice traditional Deutsch menu to choose from, all included with the room. We are DEFINITELY coming back here again. We just loved this place.
