However when all said and done, rich or poor I'm paying the same amount as everyone else so I expect a decent service and a fab hair do. Well, I am here to tell you that M Harvey offered all of that and more. I booked an appointment already feeling fairly confident because of the glowing reviews on Qype. My expectations were exceeded, however, from the moment I stepped into the salon. I was delighted to be paired with Kylee a wonderfully kind, bubbly and VERY talented hair stylist who just happens to be Canadian, too. She gave me a superb cut and my highlights are top-notch! I am 100% thrilled with her work. Kylee is the kind of person with whom you feel instantly at ease. While she is young, she is also extremely experienced. I am very picky with my hair (as I am sure most women are) and she delivered exactly what I wanted: flawless, natural highlights that go to the root, and a beautiful trim. She wasn't scissor happy and she offered her professional opinion about what colours to use in a very warm manner. She suggested the use of three different blonde tones, and what a difference it made to my hair! I also appreciated that my appointment time was mine alone. She didn't go between clients, and she made sure to listen to what I wanted. Martin, the owner of the salon, was also very sweet; he came over to offer me magazines and to ensure that I was comfortable and welcome. I can see how he has developed such a wonderful reputation, as he is clearly a lovely person. It is clear that Martin has invested much time and thought into creating a relaxing experience in a beautiful location on the Quay. M Harvey's receptionist, Karen, was also very kind. I appreciated that she made sure to instruct me how to use the correct products to prolong my Awapuhi treatment. (*The treatment is FAB by the way! I highly recommend it to add softness, shine and manageability to your hair. What a treat!) I never thought I would ever write such an exhaustive review of anything, but I can assure you that my experience at M Harvey Hair merits the time I have taken to write one. I have been a client & have known Penny Albertella for 10 years, firstly Penny was recommended to…read moreme by an acquaintance when my then 11 year old son qualified a pure bred Arabian horse for the Horse Of The Year Show, the youngest person who had ever done this, prior to the big event the horse had a fall on him and he lost all his confidence to carry on, yet he really wanted to compete at the show. We were told Penny could help gain his confidence back through therapy, I was unsure at first but thought it was worth a try as he had worked so hard to qualify this horse. After 10 sessions, therapy tapes and advise from Penny how to deal with this situation my son rode his mare at HOYS with amazing confidence at this huge event and against a class of 30 adult riders and was placed 6th overall. Had my son not known or had help from Penny I don't think he would have done this. Recently I myself had to see Penny as I had a gag reflux when visiting dentists, it was so bad no dentist could work on me without me physically being sick on them. I had to have a lot of work done and as this condition is a subconscious condition I thought about seeing Penny for myself. I saw how it worked on my son so off I went. I had 10 sessions and she made me a tape which I listened to overnight, prior to the dentist and during the treatment and it worked I was able to complete 5 visits to the dentist without me gagging on anyone. During sessions I raised doubts and was told it needed time to 'kick in'. At the end of our sessions I didn't feel any differently and worse: she led me to believe that I could fly even though I was still terrified. I suffered a 2hr panic attack (even on Valium). I have now been traumatised twice (including the initial problem I went to her with) So I'd say i've actually come out worse rather than better. Her response: 'I must have diagnosed you. I'll book you in for more sessions (at a cost)'. due to shattered confidence in hypnotherapy when I mentioned a refund (at least partial) she completely ignored me. All this is on top of her inhumane manner. One session while I was working through trauma, with tears running down my face I was abruptly escorted to the door as she never goes even a minute over time. I've never felt so humiliated.
