You want someone who is skilled, who has the financial acumen, and is a financial mortgage expert. Nick encompasses all of those attributes and then some. Right from the beginning, Nick and his team calculated the wrong amount of loan we were allowed to take. Instead of being prompt to resolve the issue, he slowly stopped approaching us. Often times, he would miss our phone call, he then messages us saying he will call us back. We tried to respect him and his busy schedule by giving him time, but even after several days, we wouldn't hear back from him. My wife and I had to "chase his tail" to get updates on the progress. Eventually he stopped answering our phone calls and had his assistant answer us. His assistant would always be very vague with her answers, leaving us with unsolved questions. The very last phone call we made, yet again, was his assistant who picked up the phone. We asked her if our pre approval will be ready with in the time frame to which she replied "maybe". That was the last time we heard from Nick and his assistant. At the end, Nick couldn't provide us the pre approval letter within the time frame that he promised us. What's worse is he didn't even bother following up or check up on us, basically ghosting us. Nick wasted 3 months of our time during this competitive housing market. It is very unfortunate that our first lender, Nick, was very unprofessional and left a bad experience for us. Luckily we ended up with another amazing lender from ACG which worked out great. Extremely disappointed at the experience we had with Nick.

If you've ever been privy to their organizational skills, you've seen one of their flyers with a clear breakdown of how much the house they are showing will cost you monthly based on your down payment. I think one of my favorite things about that open house was how I left with more detailed knowledge than when I went in (despite us opting out of that house due to the 2 flights of stairs), and dog dad said they had really great personalities and he loved how they weren't pushy or trying to convince us to go with them--we had a different realtor & loan officer at the time, and it was an absolute disaster compared to the amazing experience we had with Tim and Alan. Tim was welcoming without being overbearing, factual, and non-judgmental--all essential qualities you want in a mortgage loan consultant. Additionally, his attention to detail, overview of the process, and exceedingly reliable communication (and willingness to hold our hands as I freaked out through our whole 24 day escrow process) really sealed the deal for us. Tim was on top of everything in a time of mortgage interest rates on the rise and managed to lock our rate in before the jump. Additionally, he made sure we had back-up plans in place when I was starting my own stress spiral over the lender, and he made sure we could close in our shorter escrow window and move out of our tiny apartment on a long weekend. Honestly, we couldn't be more grateful for Tim and everything he did for us (between the late night calls to explain paperwork to us on our schedule and answering our five million questions we had after reading everything 2-5 times, I'm amazed he had time for anybody else).
