We stopped at Dexter's and picked up burgers, fries and onion rings. They did not disappoint.

Frugthaven Farm is quite different from the old Klackle's orchard that used to operate here, but…read moreit's a unique spot. I'd been curious about how the space had been transformed, so Nate and I stopped in recently while in town. The main building now houses a fresh market, coffee shop, gift shop, cider bar, and a bespoke barbershop. There is another building on the premises that is a separate boutique store called Pink & Frillos, but that wasn't open when we stopped by. It's a little bit of a lot of things, but what we experienced was nice. They also rent some part of the place as an event venue. I'm not sure if they still do u-pick apples, hayrides, corn mazes etc. or not. We ordered a meat, egg, and cheese breakfast sandwich, a couple coffee drinks, and a doughnut. The employees were not overly friendly or even really smiling, so I agree that they could have been friendlier - they all seemed to be high school or college age. Our order was done quickly and we settled in to eat. The sandwich was hot and the croissant was buttery and soft. I really liked the crispy bacon on the sandwich. It was a good portion to split along with the cinnamon sugar doughnut, which was fresh and fluffy. My oat milk latte was decent but nothing special. They use Madcap coffee at Frugthaven. Overall we had a nice time and I'd come back to try the hard cider. There's some outdoor seating and the bar area looked spacious and airy. The old timey barbershop is cool, but feels a bit weird and out of place. Otherwise the other elements of the business seem to fit. They seem to be catering to an older/Millennial crowd that wants a good shot for Instagram, versus the more family-friendly farm that it used to be. Nothing wrong with that, just something to note, especially if you knew it before.

It's like going into meijer and sitting between the shelves and drinking coffee I really don't understand what she was thinking but this business will 100% fail. Should've stuck with what the people want. A fall farm that families can spend all day at. What an epic fail

Inside has plenty of space for working or studying, and the employees were all friendly. The person taking our order kept getting interrupted by other employees asking questions, so we had a little bit of a wait to order, but I knew they had just opened. I got an oat milk latte, and Nate ordered the chocolate cream cold brew. This location has food options too, although a couple were sold out or unavailable when we were there. I like that you can bring your own clean mug for your drink and get 10 cents off, as well as 25 Stars if you're a rewards member. The wait for our drinks was not long and we were on our way. My latte was just okay - definitely not the best I've had, but not the worst either. The oat milk didn't taste as good as I'm used to and the drink overall had a funky taste to it. I loved the chocolate cream cold brew, though! It was sweet and delicious. I'd get that again if I wanted something on the sweeter side. Overall, it's a Starbucks, so you can know what to expect for the most part. I was happy with the experience but I don't need to stop there every time I'm in town.

They have a large parking lot that was being refinished when we were there, but there is plenty of street parking available nearby. The short line ahead of us moved quickly and I ordered a hot fudge sundae with soft serve. My boyfriend got a strawberry / chocolate shake. The high school girls working were super friendly and very polite, which was definitely noticed and appreciated! They take credit cards here which is nice to not have to worry about having cash. Dairy Barn is your typical small town ice cream place with cones, sundaes, "specialties," flurry-type concoctions, as well as hot dogs, burgers, fries, etc. It isn't anything super special, but it's locally owned, affordable, and fun to stop once in awhile. I think nostalgia really helps places like this as I'm sure people who went there as kids are bringing their children to Dairy Barn now too. My sundae was huge and towering with ice cream! The bowl it was in was definitely not big enough and I had to eat really quickly. Maybe don't get this for a small child on a hot day. The shake was good, but my boyfriend ended up wishing it was a malt. However, it was fun for me to sit outside at the picnic tables and reminisce a bit about growing up in Greenville.
