In my history of dealing with this government organisation, I've found that this Centrelink on High St in Prahran is the nicest and most productive one out there. This is my personal experience, as I know everyone has his or her own horror stories about this place. I found them all really easy o talk to and with their help and as little as hassles as possible it was a fairly painless experience. In conjunction with the WISE employment down the road, they seem to be the nicest team of employment helpers you can get. With dealing in places like Mornington, Frankston and Moorabbin, I'm really glad I moved up to the Prahran offices, as it was a breeze from then on.

The professional attitude of Centerlink Windsor staff would fit into any of the prestigious corporate offices. They take the time to listen, to explain things in "easy to understand" manner and treat you as a valued person. Although it is not easy to coop with redundancy at mature age, I felt comfortable to deal with the staff at Centerlink Windsor. The only minor comment I can make that the staff dress-code is a bit relaxed.

I hate marketing myself out and just upset when a positions, i'm well and overly qualified for is given to the next person that knows of that person whom then got the position from that person, this is not about WHO YOU KNOW, it's all really for WHAT YOU KNOW, get that one and you'll know how to work your way around job networking in agencies, as long as you understand yourself, what you know and how you get about it, then that's alright. I have a steady income with centrelink, it takes me from A to B and i don't have to be force into a job even if it means, I'm gonna have to make sacrifices that which means time away from my boys, it's not worth the hassle for me at the end of the day, I can maintain respect on a low yet steady income than chase the big guns and me kids are left without a mum, so, I really don't mind joining the team as a client or as a member. I had one visit with them in which I filled out some paperwork regarding my skills and employment prospects. I then met with one of their representatives for approximately two minutes, in which time she told me that I shouldn't have trouble getting work myself, and if they have to see me again for a follow up visit in around three months time, they would be forced to find me a minimum wage dead end job to fulfil their requirements. The whole experience, whilst quick and painless, was hardly encouraging, so I'm glad that it was a free service. I wouldn't, however, encourage anyone to pay out of their own pocket for their service (at least for the service that I received).

What my advice is though is that the job seeking places can be a nightmare and I've found one that treats you well, is understanding and will go out of their way to help you no matter what your situation. This is probably what you would hope to happen but it doesn't with many of the other service providers. I know now that I've put the word out, my friends have been able to change to Wise and have been much better off. When I was with them they were very understanding of my personal problems (death in the family) and were very helpful and understanding of my position. It can be a nightmare dealing with Centrelink and government places but Wise really took a lot of stress off my shoulders where the young girl, Valerie, was nothing but helpful, compassionate and understanding. I know I've reiterated the same points over again but it's very important to a lot of people that you get a good job seeker provider and I would highly recommend going to Wise Employment. Much nicer, more relaxed and actually provide a good service.
