Finalmente abbiamo trovato una pizzeria che fa una buona pizza nei sobborghi di Melbourne, la carne molto buona e cottura "medium rare", esattamente come richiesta. Siamo rimasti abbastanza soddisfatti. Un gran bravo ragazzo il proprietario Antonello.

Website says there are two sittings and we booked for the second one, only to have to wait over 30 minutes outside when we arrived on time. Every 5 minutes they told us it would be another 2 minutes... It was only because we continually popped our heads in to ask for an update that they begrudgingly prompted a table from the first sitting to finish up. I don't blame the other diners - its likely they were not made aware of the two sittings rule - but don't advertise such a thing if you're not going to stick to it. No apology was made when we were eventually led to our table. Staff generally seemed to spend most of their time sitting down chatting with the family and friends who seemed to make up half the patrons. Great fun for them I'm sure, but the lack of interest in other patrons is obvious. Back to positives - and they have both a wine list with decently priced nice drops (quite a few good $35 bottles) and an unadvertised $10 corkage fee if you want to bring your own.

Two words: MASSIVE SERVINGS…read more Came here for Fathers' Day under the impression that I was coming in for some 'Sicilian Barbeque' - I don't know, I wasn't the one doing the booking, but I thought it would be sausages and salamis, prosciuttos and the like, all grilled over the BBQ in new and fantastic ways. While I wasn't quite right, I was far from disappointed! Mister Bianco has that cool, relaxed kinda atmosphere that defines Melbourne Cafes and restaurants, with funky interior design covered in old wine bottles and fun paintings. As it was Fathers' Day, we had a special Set Menu - and, to my surprise, we didn't pick one meal option from each section (appetiser/main/dessert kinda deal) but were served EVERYTHING ON THERE. There was So. Much. Food. The presentation of it all was spectacular - that current trend of plunging syringes and droppers full of sauce into your food is so much fun! The entrees in particular were awesome, coming out hot and fresh - but the staff seemed exhausted by the midday flood of customers by the time we got there. By the end of the entrees, we were all full. That's how much food there was. We had 3 courses left. Was this how we were going to die? We thought so, but we weren't sad about it! Had to take the pasta to-go - the two serves on pasta we were given was enough to feed us for two dinners - forget it being a mid-way point! Mains were nice, but the beef was a little chewy and cool by the time it got to the table, and the chicken was the same - and damn, there was way, WAY too much chicken on that plate. Delicious chicken, sure, but for 6 people, 10 enormous chunks of bird was just too much. Dessert was a blessing. The gelato was amazing, as were the chocolate-filled doughnuts, and those cool little cream filled pastries were super crunchy and sweet. Lovely stuff, man. Overall, they really need to re-think how much food they out on a plate. We seated six people, and there was MORE than enough food for TWELVE. There was so much. I'm not getting my point across. It would also be nice if there was less of a wait between each meal - I think we actually sat down for about 3.5 hours all up, which is a bit ridiculous. We didn't want to wait 40 minutes for each course to arrive - it didn't build anticipation, it left us bored and a little impatient. But the food WAS spectacular, especially in presentation. Would consider coming back for more, but only when there isn't a set menu.

This is exactly what Kew needs, these guys. They know the restaurant business and they know 'Sicilian' even better. Hoping they would bring a little style and sophistication back to the area which has been lacking for so many years. Mister Bianco's (named after a town near Mt Etna, Scicily) southern Italian dishes are of 5 star restaurant qualities and if you take the time to chat with them you'll realize that each dish reflects a part of their heritage and culture growing up in that region. The last time I ate here was on Fathers Day so naturally I excepted the place would be busy and fully booked which it was and as a true testament to their service professionalism our food was brought out on time and our wait staff never waivered or underwhelmed us at any point. One criticism if I may, not positive this is standard positioning or perhaps to cater for the overload of customers on the occasion, but try and not be seated next to or in front of the door you will get a gust of wind if your face each time it opens. Coupled by the air conditioning on full blast to cater for the running of the wait staff and heat from the kitchen really tends to spoil the dining experience. The menu is priced at $15-20 for entrees and $25-35 for mains and is slightly tweaked to cater for its market. If you get the privilege order the home mad tiramisu, its served to you on the spot along with the warm raspberry soufflé, absolutely divine. Rumor has it they will be opening another restaurant in Richmond in the next 12 months if it's a good as its counterparts its sure to be a success!

THIS is the definition of a hidden gem. Oh my God, we had such a fantastic dining experience here…read more It was my sister's birthday, and she is a complete foodie, and has been everywhere yet wanted Italian. Grossi, Cecconi's etc were all off the list because she'd either been there or knew it, and I needed a surprise. Some searching brought up Centonove. It seemed odd, being where it is, but reviews/driving past the place told me to go for it. She had never heard of it when we got there, and it did not disappoint from start to finish. One of the best dining experiences I'd ever had in Melbourne. Super friendly owners and staff who are there attending to your every need in a friendly and non-intrusive way. Intimate brick walls and decor. Minimal but very homey and welcoming. And the food and wine were all spectacular. Between us all we had a mixture of the duckling, ribeye, beetroot and feta, linguine special with clams, oysters, flounder, etc etc. Lots of excellent options food. The menu is small, but EVERYTHING was superb and spot on, and the wine list is huge, with knowledgeable staff to guide you through it objectively. As a result, we got to try a lot of new nice Italian wines we'd never heard of that matched the food perfectly. This place is amazing. And I think its secret, is that its hidden away in Kew, away from the tourists and the regular crowds. I almost feel upset reviewing it and popularising it haha, but that's what Yelp is for! But the Kew locals know it about it, as does the Age who have voted it as one of their top restaurants 5 years running, and it was packed. I'd also suggest sitting upstairs, it's much more spacious, although downstairs where the bar is is cool too. There's also a private wine room, but it seemed a bit claustrophobic in there. Centonove IS certainly an expensive dining place. But if you're looking for that type of night, either as a group, or just two people, this place is excellent. Unquestionably one of the best dining experiences I've had in Melbourne. Highly recommended.
